I just love your commitment and discipline Allie... to do your core work, your extra exercises, splitting of cross-training, strength work etc... You're a real Pro...
Love seeing all the muscle you're building up. It will help keep you injury free in the future, plus increase your speed and stamina. Pluses all the way around. Go Spence!!!
Great video! Love seeing all the things you do to maintain fitness and to get stronger. I will hopefully add some of these exercises to my weekly routine. Keep the good stuff coming. You will be back soon enough.
You have the genes, you have the moxie, and your level of commitment is off the charts... now, if only the stars will align to give you a solid year of uninterrupted running.
Love seeing the feet/lower leg strengthening!! I had shin splints for 9 months which didn’t go away no matter how many weeks I took off. A combination of being more barefoot and strengthening my feet means finally no more shin splints!! Your dedication is amazing!
Hi Allie, love your videos! As a PT and long-distance runner, I struggled with shin problems. I know you are getting lots of help and input. You may have already heard of it and are doing it, but static wall is a great exercise for shin problems. It seems easy but it is intense to hold the feet dorsiflexed up a wall for 3-5minutes. Wishing you healing and well wishes in your running career!
Hi Allie good morning happy Tuesday morning and I loved your morning routine vlogs because you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you and I enjoy your channel
Shin splints are the worst; they take forever to rehab. I did dozens of toe dorsiflexion exercises with a band attached to something solid. Kudos to you for tolerating the Graston techniques. I had to use them on my PF. They hurt so good.
Some unsolicited thoughts on healing your injury....during towel scrunches, focus on lifting and spreading the toes and not necessarily the scrunch part. Stretch the top of your foot in standing. Place a small ball under your forefoot in standing and roll it back towards your heel as you spread your toes toward the floor. You want really good toe spread. 😊
I'm curious where you were seated for Spencer's race? Maybe I'll find out when his video comes out? I was pretty surprised to look at the screen and recognize Spencer. My tween thought it was cool that there was a UA-camr running.
similar to ur luggage (maybe?) one time after camping i rly enjoyed sleeping in a sleeping bag so for the next several months i slept in the sleeping bag on the neatly folded blankets on my bed... 😅
Quick question. Do you think that you may be dealing with a hairline fracture? I'm actually experiencing pain in that exact area , and I'm concerned this it may be a stress fracture. I have an Xray scheduled on Wednesday, as well as an initial appt with an Orthopedic Doctor. Hopefully, neither one of us is dealing with a stress fracture.
Wow! You are in Seattle? I am from Seattle! I now live in Olympia, down South from you. Have you met The Ginger Runner, yet? He and his wife do trail running and they have a UA-cam channel and seem really sweet! They live up there, too!
Around 1:12 in the video, the words that came to mind were "And I thought I needed to clean my car!" I am just guessing that about 99% of that was from Spencer? Well, I kind of have you beat on not unpacking the carry on, although it was quite trusting of you to leave yours in the car for 10 days. You can run 16 miles up a mountain, but 50 yards out to the car to get your bag.....naw, that's way too much effort, let's put it off for awhile! Good Lord, I must sound like your mom! Actually, when I circle around the grocery store parking lot to get the closest space, I think..."yep, ran 25 marathons, don't want to walk an extra 5 yards!" Well, I think I have you beat with the carry on, as last October, I returned from a short trip to Florida. Suddenly I was running low on socks and underwear, despite I had just bought a bunch to have a good supply, while one running shirt was missing. Well, six months passed and I was traveling back to Florida just about 4 weeks ago, and when I opened that carry on to pack my stuff.....boom.....that's where everything had been.... for 6 months! Thank Gawd I had washed that stuff at my dad's place before I returned home, otherwise, as I wouldn't want to contemplate the bio hazard that was lurking in my closet. Your training looks great, and you are recovering well. This video reminded me of a few things to incorporate as I have a couple of minor issues, so...thank you for sharing of what you are doing for recovery. Run well Allie O!

Way to go Allie. Great demonstration of how to maintain fitness while dealing with injury. Love the dedication.

This is a great video for injury recovery for serious runners/athletes. Kudos!
Love the caption of your daily life

@Beastbombshell Mercifully, my shin splint woes are well behind me. But this is something to consider thanks.
Yeah I’ve had shin splints in the past..this isn’t shin splints, but those are difficult!
I have always run but never done ANY core work, but seeing you do all that great stuff makes me wonder if I am missing out
I think it is a great addition to the run training!
You should write a book about recovery training and exercises and recipes.
I agree, I am just like you in the driver's seat! I can control myself, but not all the other craziness that may happen!😅

Great vid as always
really interesting vid! do you have any idea why the shin injury happened?
Yay Allie again 🎉 always great content love your vids
Glad you enjoyed! Thank you for watching 🤗
@@allie_ostrander no need to thank me it's inspiring content 😀👍
Great cross training. I wish i had that much emotional endurance.
similar to ur luggage (maybe?) one time after camping i rly enjoyed sleeping in a sleeping bag so for the next several months i slept in the sleeping bag on the neatly folded blankets on my bed... 😅
haha but I feel like that's better bc you unloaded the sleeping bag and put it in your bed...

As far as I know, you have to disclose a sponsorship in the first 30 seconds of the video.... or did I miss it?
I love your videos ❤ do u take rest days? How often??
taking one today! I usually have them every 2-3 weeks, but I always have at least one light training day per week
I’ve seen people use the chocolate salt & caramel chocolate salt LMNT to make hot chocolate 🤤 looks super good
Hi Allie, I struggle with staying hydrated too. I think I’m the only human that water makes physically I’ll lol.
Haha that’s so tough..I definitely just struggle to remember to drink water
@@allie_ostrander that’s just my luck Allie 😂

Hope you win!
What app do you use to track your bike workouts?
Strava! It’s connected to my Garmin watch

3 hours cross training is beast mode. Can Spencer post his pizza recipe?
haha the recipe is a secret family heirloom!
How did Spencer run?
My max wheels was 60
Any ways you can do it.
Clicked so fast!
I sit like that when I drive too 😂

Is that compartment syndrome in your shin?
I guess it should have been 2023 @ 0:18. Other than that, good video!
haha you're right. I struggle to get the date right apparently..
@@allie_ostrander no worries, in 10 years it will make you a year younger :D
Awesome video ! Message me concerning your shin issue.
Not sure how to message you on UA-cam?
I was pronouncing LMNT as limit lmaoooo
we all were hahaha
Don’t you do chocolate salt like that!!!
I don't like chocolate...so it's not the flavor, it's me ;)
