Randy I love you but shouldn't that absolutely precious cargo in the back of your truck be in seat belts? My God!
Appreciate the shoutout Randy! Your recent Italy content was really cool, it was like National Lampoons European Vacation meets HiFi!
Lol 😂 right on
I never miss your videos Matt!
Yep, I have been fan of your channel from the beginning Matt 👍🏼
Driving car, 2 kids without belts, recording video. Safety first, or last in this case. Damn, i wouldn't dare to do this.
We forget sometimes that all of these guys -- Randy, Tarun, both Steve's, etc -- they're all vanity-publishing this stuff. There's no editorial QC because that's supposed to be the "beauty" of the new information age, where anybody with a great sense of humor can pump out a hundred videos about the same subject, and if the craft is catchy enough, he's an expert. And then one day you see all the way behind the curtain like this, and you go ... oh *yeah*, NOW I remember why I read Stereophile.
Really... Sterophile is just as bad if not worse than many UA-camrs. AND all of say video's like Randys and mine "I used to run a channel" are just OP opinion pieces. They are our experiences with the product and the brand take it or leave it. Find a reviewer that resonates with you. I've owned many of the things Randy has reviewed and most of the time I agree with his opinion.
Do you have kids? Have you taken them on a long trip? My daughter will stay buckled for about 2 hours then she goes nuts. Where I live children this size don't have to be buckled in the back anyway.
If the guy was on a busy motorway, esp' at night on, esp' if on multi laned busy roads with big'rigs & boy'racers jockeying for position, in the pouring or not making the roads slippery, or in no rain, then he most prob', like me with my once-as-young kids laying in the back of a cushioned estate car ..or not, be out there myself, esp not with my kids if I had to go out on a route like that. But for a calm drive on a quite road, with all the soft cushions, pillows, padded duvets in the car, & nothing busy whizzing by, I'd personally have no problem with my 2 in the back like that, with not hearing squealing of sudden lying braking wheels, the kids not being hurled left & right or slamming into the back of his seat, shaking his fist out the window, not stopping mid-sentence every 2 minute to shout "You, you bloody effing fatherless man you, grrr.." out his window, made it look like a cool calm drive, don't we all talk & drive in a mostly auto-mode while watching for imminent dangers without a thought, don't we all, if he got 1 of the kids to hold the wheel & the other to keep the accelerator down while he climbed out the car to clean the cobwebs connecting the wing mirror to the door, then I'd say "hey! Not cool!! But your comm' is absolutely politically correct "virtue signalling " ..so fair enough, free speech & all that. Good luck dude('ess?). I think drivers & passengers should wear parachutes by law, & 4 layers of the large bubble'd bubble wrap, you just can't tell what can happen in a car.
@@10WAI don’t have kids of my own but both my sisters have kids that I was very involved with as an uncle . They would never ever drive kids without seat belts. It’s honestly extremely irresponsible. You have no idea what could happen. No one gets into their car planning to get into a car accident, that’s why it’s an accident. Your frankly short sighted decision could literally get your kids killed. If they get antsy you can stop more often on the way there. How ridiculous could it be to have a child harmed because the parent didn’t buckle them in. FYI, we all work in the medical field.
I love you man, but... damn. Care about your kid's safety as much as you do about audio.
Thanks for the love, my friend! Definitely a fantastic list and I love to be a part of a group that wants to make this fun and not turn everything into a competition, that wants to support one another and spotlight amazing brands and products. We are fortunate to do what we do!
The British Audiophile, by far the best audio review channel out there.
I definitely enjoy watching him, among many others 👍
I want the news to not be govt. bullcrap any longer and to hear The British Audiophile reporting the news. Such a great relatable delivery, a guy you just want to go have a beer with and be around such high caliber people.
Nobody would doubt that English is my native language, but I'm learning how to actually speak it, thanks to "The British Audiophile."
If you really drill down into his reviews, he doesn't really say that much that's useful for narrowing a list. Go back and watch the QUAD Revela review from a few weeks ago and tell me whether he says more about the sonic qualities of the QUADs, or about crossover handoffs and Usian Bolt. I think we find him entertaining because he scripts his videos, which is something more channels should do, but he recently disclosed that the part of his listening room that we can't see is actually a gaping pass-through to a kitchen, which raises an awful lot of questions in my mind, at least, as to just how seriously we should take his word about guhbillion-dollar kit. Nice guy -- takes himself *WAY* too seriously, but nice guy -- but the longer I've watched his channel the less convinced I am that there's a lot of there, there. I asked him about the NVA stack with the Amphions and his reply made it clear that the technical choices of the NVAs rendered them completely incompatible with the Argon's (and, presumably by that measure, with a lot of other speakers too). Could he perhaps have ... you know ... mentioned that in his review?
The kids are adorable and tolerant of their fathers work. The best part of watching you tube audio channels is assessing impartiality and integrity of reviewers. Everyone has to earn a buck, so viewers have to also learn to keep everything they view in context.
Thomas and stereo for me is the philosophical leader in reviews and helped to better understand how to listen. Now he has his own line of equipment to boot.
Your kids really should have their seat belts on dude!
Good thing you didn't grow up in the 80s riding in the back of pickup trucks
@@swimpsmagbayao9513 I did grow up in the 80s just not in the USA. Cars are now fitted with rear seat belts for a reason something to do with safety I believe.
@@paulcridland5230 well I did grow up in the USA in the 70s and 80s and now I live in Southeast Asia and I've seen in both parts of the world the seatbelts do more harm than good in 99% of people here in Southeast Asia ride motorbikes with three people on them... so in 55 years I learned that if it's going to happen it's going to happen seat belts or not
@@swimpsmagbayao9513 Try telling that to a paramedic when they scrape your kids body parts off the road....
A British Audiophile!
Agree. I enjoy Utilitarian TV Man. He keeps it fun and has a good time. 👍🏼😎🎶
His channel and this one basically are my favourites.
I agree with your choices, it's just a shame you missed my 2 favorites: The Hans Beekhuyzen Channel and A British Audiophile 😅
Great list. Also: Jay's iyagi, A British Audiophile, Thomas & Stereo, Pursuit Perfect System, ANA[DIA]LOG, An Aussie Audiophile..
KIDS NOT WEARING SEATBELTS WHILE DAD IS DRIVING?
Looks like an incredible day you are having with the fam :) Much love for the Cheap Audio Man!
I never miss your videos Kevin!
Hi-Fi Riff with Mike Evans & David Price! Another great UA-cam channel!! Thanks for all the recommendations, Randy. I've never been to a buc-ee's, but I feel like I have now...
Steve
Thank you my friend. I do appreciate it. I hope you and the girls had a great time.
I never miss your videos.
@@mikecampbell5856 Thanks Mike.
Thanks for sharing this content with us all. Always appreciate your opinion and perspectives. Be safe and have happy travels. Stay well brother.
Top Notch list Randy! I follow a few of them.
Oh, Way to Dad man! I sure wish I had been a great dad like you and done much more with my kids instead of working everyday and still not being successful. Enjoy the kids while you got 'em. They grow up far to fast and leave the nest. All the very best to you and yours, Kevin
I'm subscribed to almost all of them, Steve Huff too who is awsome. I first came across Kev, them man from Des Moines, and then the most popular fella in Baltimore after Dr. Hannibal Lecter, no other than THE BEARDED DUDE A.K.A. Just Audio, the vintage wizard and Christmas Horror character 😂 Then I discovered The Cheap Audio Man and immediately subscribed to your channel because added to your wisdom and knowledge, the fast paced short pieces and your nice family, I was completely blown away by the METAL INTRO TUNE with the little robot, the explosions and your contagious love for music and HiFi. Funny enough I'm a guitar player aficionado from a place in the middle of nowhere in West Spain completely hooked to Blues, Funk Jazz and American Hi Fi Channels on UA-cam. Anyway, I love you Randy and this was my little tribute.
Outstanding as always Randy. I subscribe to most all the channels you mentioned and will soon be subscribing to those on your list that I didn't. Thank you and keep up the great work.
Hans Beekhuyzen & Audio Masterclass are pretty good.
I still remember how the car sounded with my ear on the carpeted floor of our family van. Can't do that in a car seat. I used to listen to carpeting on road trips.....Now I listen to Hi-Fi music. Half of me understands why people are saying everyone in the car needs seatbelts, but the other half of me remembers the cool forts I built in the back of our van, or watching the sky go by while laying on my back, or watching the road out the rear window, or fighting the g-forces while rolling left and right on the floor as we took turns.
Thanks for the perspective CAM!
I appreciate this video. I used to watch some of the high-end , ultra-high end audio equipment. With high end prices in the stratosphere, I now watch your channel frequently, and few other sites you mentioned. Most of us have tight budgets. The realistic audio fan looks at what is affordable. Thank you for your channel channel and attention to affordable audio!!
Stjernholm Reviews has become one of my favourite audio review channels. He puts a lot of work into his productions and has a great sense humour
This guy is a RIOT I love his sense of humor and his reviews
@@KJ-yq5gmRight? His production quality is awesome. He definitely deserves more viewers
Fantastic video of your passions, music and family!
Great video..fun looking trip for sure. Kids are the best. I’ve tried to encourage my son (15 yrs old) to embrace the audio hobby. He loves our home theater set-up, however, he’s not into getting speakers. He loves his AirPods, and also uses some good Sony headphones, and occasionally his bluetooth speaker. Oh well, he’s happy!
Keep up the good work, Randy👍🏻
I am grateful for the info, it will allow me to expand my audio knowledge beyond the limits of my UA-cam algorithm. one of personal gripes are people who declare themselves some kind of you tube expert, but don't know enough to not pass on fallacies.
Everyone of the people you listed are great. There is also Crazy Lenny and Rachel with Geshelli Labs putting out good stuff, too.
My favorites!
British audiophile (Tarun), Jay Iyagi, Bob Fonseca (United States of analogue), Steve Huff, Pursuit Perfect System...
Just some of you have missed.
Hold up, I see one of the kids with a pair of Hifiman Sundara closed-backs. Now that's what I'm talking about Randy!!! Great vid BTW!!!
Thanks Randy!! 🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊. Great rundown.
Excellent recommendations!
The British Audiophile
@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel
Audio-In-Reviews and The Honest Audiophile are my go to for IEM's and portable audio. Great Video Randy! 👍👍
Forever analog is pretty good too.
Thanks Randy... Love the Autogrill reference
These are among the more prominant but not the only contributors on youtube. Some dont publish nearly as often but may go overlooked. Still, my thanks to all who have taken the time to both share their experiences and respond to me personally in a way that is helpful.
This is one of the few days I get smarter watching UA-cam. Thanks, Randy!
Love all the reviewers you mentioned. ❤
I was thinking about Crutchfield catalogs... so kool, I used to circle what I wanted with my brother for hours 😂 nice memory👍
I love most of these reviewers but you're still at the top of the list keep the great videos coming
Love the leads on other great content AND the TOTALLY AWESOME road trip background! Nicely done Randy and girls. 👏👏
Before you said anything, I looked back there and said “ yep, Sea World”. As a kid raised by everyone but my parents I salute you for being a great dad.
Would like to mention Mad Audio as an upcoming reviewer, not everyone’s cup of tea if an Italian accent is not your thing. Very thorough and someone I like to listen too regarding a variety of equipment
I wasn’t texting officer! I was making a video for UA-cam!Please tell me you have your phone or camera mounted while you are driving.
Making a video while the kiddos are rolling around in the backseat without seatbelts. We’ll be dismissed as being overly cautious.
Great one Randy! A keeper. My only regret is now I want to watch more audio stuff. Right now I make time for you, and occasionally Steve G. But I will definitely be referring to this one in the future.
Good video pal. Fyi I have those HifiMan Sundara closed backs your kid is wearing. Haha. Noticed them right away. A steal now at 179.99.
Shout out to Buc-ee’s . Incredible place, a bit overwhelming. It would be interesting to see how much of a bump all of your subscribers/ viewers will have on your friends who have other UA-cam channels. Nothing like sharing the audio Love. Thanks Randy.
Ah, the old days of station wagons with the kids in back without seat belts... brings back fond memories!
My parents had a conversion van which had like 4 recliners and a couch that folded into a bed i remember bunch of road trips on i95 and the turn pike with my whole family and friends
‘Are we there yet….?’ 😹
70's child, still alive🤔
Gen X here to. We were feral af.
Absolutely unbelievable, right?
70's child - lost three cousins in a single-car accident in the 1980s when they weren't belted in. One broken neck against a front seat, one head trauma going through the glass, and the other had life support switched off sometime later. Parents both survived. They were never the same.
Funny the people that didn't make it aren't here to tell you they're still alive isn't it?
@@ianthewright Thank you so much for this post. I get royally sick of these people who say "We never wore bike helmets or seatbelts and we survived! How did we manage??" And the implication from that is clear. They forget that some in their generation DIDN'T survive and, as you point out, we can't hear their point of view.
Same here about Crutchfield...all of it! Great customer service, decent prices and pretty good selection.
As a kid I always loved to sleep in a moving car.
Skylab!
They are fantastic!
Mr Nemo Propergandi needs to buy some new clothes as he has only got one pair of shorts that he wears on every single video. Maybe we can start a collection for him so he can buy some trousers. 😂
For car audio people Williston Audio Labs is also a good one. Hi-end amps, budget amps... he goes through 'em all. Dyno and sound testing, a peek inside and all in all very thorough evaluations.
Thanks again and regards.
Your kids are adorable. Looks like you guys had a blast. But what was all that stuff you were babbling on about?😁I don't watch hi-end audio channels or listening room configurations, home theater 5.1 8.1 nonsense. 10k for a turntable? CD Transports and DAC's. Screw that. I recently bought the Yamaha as-301 Integrated Amp on ebay because of your review and I'm very happy with it. I do watch your buddy on Skylab Audio. He's great. I love his deadpan delivery. But mainly I watch Vinyl guys. How to Vinyl.
Off topic but, I just got the Elac Debut 5.2 finally on Amazon for $199 this morning! Thought I’d share 🤣…and another great video. Thanks for all the channel shoutouts too, already sub to some, but amped about checking out the rest. Oh and love that Aspen ❤my dad had a ‘78 Volare with the 318 that ran forever till mid 2000’s. Anyway safe travels and have a great trip with the family 😉
I cannot like this video hard enough. It is ridiculous in the best way! Props to your kids for being game and Buc-ees really should have paid you a sponsorship fee.
StereoNiche has an incredible collection of mint condition vintage gear. Forever Analog, Michael Andrew, British Audiophile, United States of Analog, AH-Fix-It, Just Audio, Rachel Geshelli and Boomer Consumer are some more great channels.
Great kids! Love the travelogue aspect of this one!
Agree with most of the folk you mentioned except Andrew Robinson, sorry.
Agree.
Hong-Kong Phooey......anyone?......no?.........just me then!
Lol. I noticed it too. Hong Kong Phooey, number one super guy ...
Love the Squirtle Squishmallow pillow! My son has the same! Squirtle is the best Pokemon... in the world!
Soundnews channel on UA-cam is one of my favorites. I've bought a lot of my gear based on Sando's recommendations and reviews. The highlight of which is the Keces E40 integrated amp, $500 when I purchased it ($650 now).
Fun fact: iiWi is short for "is it Worth it?".
Ok.....No Jay's Audio Lab (too $$) or Andrew Robinson or Steve Huff (HiFiHuff)?? I watch them all.
I stick with reviewers who aren't exclusively hung up on audio equipment I've never been able to afford and never will be. At least one that Randy mentioned rarely talks about anything that doesn't cost more than my first new car.
FYI , Be careful with the hidden cameras at Buc ys
Some are interesting to watch, but don't think these channels are not shills.
Shout out to my brother from another mother @Jayiyagi
In Spanish: Audiofilos y locos, based in NY but in Spanish. Francisco del Pozo is other Spanish channel to watch. And Randy, please, the kids without seatbelts…is a terrible risk.
Good stuff Randy, thanks!
Also, Buc-ee’s FTW!
I like when you test stereo equipment whit normal prices, normal hmmm Rotel A11 mk2 for exampel, Yamaha and speakers Elac for normal prices, "normal" go on 😊
I hope I make the Class of 2025!
Dude. I actually recorded a segment about you and I missed it during the edit.
That's okay, Man. It didn't hurt as bad than when Steve G. Passed on featuring my system!😂 I was just hoping I would get the top of the rollercoaster! Thanks for wearing my Rock and Roll News shirt this week! I watch ALL of your videos. You are still the King!
@@UnitedStatesofAnalog I did where your shirt in the Dayzee vid
I would also add Wave Theory to the list
Also don't forget Alpha Audio (Audio Alpha?). Their recordings are second to none and the cable test is legendary.
Skylabs with Kevin!!!! Why? Vintage gear is my favorite!!!
So you list all the major audiophile on UA-cam except for Z reviews lol nice one. Oh my name is Randy too.
Looks like you’ll have to do a part deux 😂. And I can’t do the guy that talks to dead people anymore, call me shallow.
In the UA-cam space I would add Ealan Osborne to that list. His wit, humor, knowledge, and presentation style is quite entertaining and fairly in-depth.
British Audiophile...!
Another thing about these reviewers is once you understand their preferences, you can have a better understanding in how they are describing the performance in their space. For example, nemo and a british audiophile seems to prefer more high frequency refinement than i do, so i have a better idea how it may perform in my own space.
Already subscribed to few of them
We need a Crutchfield in Canada👍
Don't they ship to Canada?
@@kevincorr2985 Yes they do. Although I typically don't buy speakers unless I can hear them first. I live in a small city in southern BC and a couple of high end outlets in town but super high quality and prices. ie One has various cables starting at about $225 +++. Then there are Custom Clearing House fees based on the $ value/last time I checked about 12 years ago Fedex fees started at about $7.00 and ++++. Then possible import duties depending where the components are made. Could get a rather large bill.
@@kevincorr2985 I sent a reply but don't see it - yet
As a family man, lead by example
Grandkids know audio quality 👌
grandkids???
Tbh, all those UA-cam channels do fit me. More relatable would be “Review by Wave Theory” , Z Reviews, and Jason from Custom Cans UK - alright hope u had a good trip.
Review by Wave Theory is excellent. So is Passion for Sound.
Audiofile junkie is dope he is i think based out of Houston. Great guy teams up with 3mA
What? No orange man? 😄
As a fellow Texan that drives that route at least once a year most of this video could’ve been filmed in construction and waiting in line at Buccee’s. 😂 Love that you’re giving shout outs to other personalities!
Yes, iiwi Reviews
Your kid rocking the hifimans lol, experiencing hifi a such a young age.
My personal favorite is the guy who so prides himself on being value-oriented that it's literally his channel's name -- and yet can't do more than twenty or thirty seconds of a value-priced product review without saying, HEY YOU HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN THAT THIS IS MADE IN ... *CHINA* ... HAVE YOU? DID I MENTION THAT IT'S MADE IN ... *CHINA* ?!?!?
Z Reviews is also another great channel
Zeos🤘🤘
Funny, candid and very smart. However, his videos are too long.
The United States of Analog is also great Bob Fonseca is the man
CAM rocks
You forgot Zeos.
Hey Randy, love your channel and will keep watching, but no seat belts for the kiddies…not good.
Stereo Review X is a good channel if you're into vintage gear.
Kelvin is great!
I love your videos dude but wow, having unrestrained children in your vehicle is horribly irresponsible, it's even illegal in the UK. You'd never forgive yourself, should you be involved in a serious collision. Sorry to raise this point in a video intended for audio but please take on board my observation.
