I really like the interactions between Dagan and Reyvis. Reyvis isn't like those other big bodyguards to the main villain that cower in front of their master, and actually enjoys poking fun at Dagan even when he threatens to literally cut his tounge out. But it's also obvious how much Reyvis respects him, and Dagan considers him a good ally. Their friendship is somehow weirdly wholesome to me
I think ravis is just very loyal
@@timmywoo3572Loyalty is Friendship
You misspelled Rayvis
They're gay for eachother
I love that little moment where Dagan and Rayvis just roast each other but no one took it that seriously.
That's some actual friendship.
They definitely roasted Jedi for fun
"Without a code, you can only serve yourself"
For a villains quote, that is oddly noble.
Jesus the anger when he screamed "It's FAKE!!!" 😢
After hundreds of years of being locked up, he's got some *RAGE*
Sounds like he’s having a stroke ( no offence just saying )
0:54
He just wants to see his friend again 😔
Lol ds9.
"It's a Faaaaaaakeeee!"
I wasn’t paying attention to his databank entries, so when this 5:25 happened, and I saw him put his arm back on, my jaw dropped. I didn’t realize he was the same species as Durge, but once I knew, I was legitimately scared to have to fight him for real. Well done Respawn
I like how Rayvis’ armor looked, felt, but most importantly, SOUNDED, like it was fucking heavy.
DC Douglas. The man is brilliant at being hammy AND intimidating. He over act’s JUST enough to keep our attention. Reyvis is a highlight of the game, and Douglas performance took a cool character and made him memorable
He also voices Albert Wesker, right?
Rayvis is one of those characters that’s just so cool without hardly even trying. His voice and attitude, and some of the things he says are just so well done. Well written character
"I've been waiting for this.. FOR TWO HUNDRED YEARS!!"
Yup, this is where he became my favorite
This game proved how powerful Cal Kestis is when even Rayvis, a being that lived since the High Republic and has been titled "Jedi Killer", admits that he's a threat to Dagan
Small trivia: Rayvis shares voice actor with Albert Wesker and Yoshikage Kira
D.C. Douglas. He also voiced Legion (Mass Effect), Suguru Kamoshida (Persona 5) & Gunther (Fire Emblem).
Funner Fact: that frog dude is invader Zim/ Corny from Get Street Smart: A Kid's Guide To Stranger Dangers
Richard Steven Horvitz.
That explains why he sounds so familiar. Yoshikage frickin’ Kira.
I could easily see a Gen’Dai, even Durge himself, being the Mr.X/Nemesis/Adam Smasher/The Mountain of Star Wars.
Imagine a horror star wars game of project blackwing zombies in a large base or starship or even a death star but there is a zombie gen,dai or something that is chasing you like mr.x
@@lexonschembri1241Zombie gen,dai?
...
Jesus! I'd rather take my chances with Vadar.
It definitely felt like rayvis was well versed and talked like he’d spoken in battle with a Jedi but I didn’t expect a 200 year old war criminals
Durge was older in legends I believe, had actually had connections with Palpatine’s cane in ROTJ
Thats good voice acting right there
thats albert wesker for ya
@wolverine 321 that's the same voice actor for Albert Wesker? For RE5 ?
@@McdonaldsInFallujah It is indeed, D.C Douglas is his name
Rayvis stole the show in terms of boss fights! ❤️
i liked Rayvis more then Dagan he was so cool and his voice held so much power shit Id follow that guy in a heartbeat
“ your a bold one “
“ your a mean one “
“ your a … wait what?
"His new platform is inefficient. It has no hydraulics, and is tentacle-ly."
- Legion
"You'll just have to kill him quickly."
- Wesker
Rayvis is cool, but lowkey disappointing that the fight isnt at all similar to the OG durge and Kenobi fight in the clone wars. Always assumed the Gendai would be next to impossible to kill
Durge was just built different with many augments to his body.
There is also another way to kill them and that is too destroy their brain directly which Cal probably did by cutting his head in half.
I was actually expecting him to throw Rayvis into the Mining Laser.
@@whynotluaghlmfao5463 Because a strike to the head of a Gan Dei will damage the brain thus killing him.
Durge was different though, he was augmented with science. It's the reason why he was harder to kill.
@@RRai2000 how was Durge augmented again?
I remember reading how he was augmented centuries before the Clone Wars, but I don’t recall what exactly they did to enhance his body aside from a targeting system integrated into his brain.
He ain’t dead. He just healed off screen. I’m certain he’s gonna do what he said he would do. Go visit his Home
Yeah, they didn't even try. Was expecting multiple God Of War-tier encounters where you had to trap him in an incinerator or something. Couldn't have been lazier than having Cal just slice at him w/o showing anything.
How to forget when invader Zim worked with Albert Wesker.
I can't unhear Wesker... DC Douglas, I will always remeber you for best performences
Rayvis is like a combination of thanos and buzz lightyear
Rayvis is a hell of villain... One of my favorites in last years...
Given how 9th Sister survived Fallen Order to appear in this sequel? I can easily see Reyvis surviving for a potential 3rd game. Especially since his species are borderline immortal outside of destroying every cell in their body. Unless it's true that Gen'Dai can now be killed by destroying their brains too.
He might not even have a brain in the conventional sence, just decentralized nerves like an octopus.
It's mentioned in gendai lore tabs in game they can be killed by severing their core nerve systems. I would assume their brain would qualify as a core nerve system
His brain was destroyed he isn’t coming back
@@ajw2305 The Gen'Dai do have brains, the only thing they can't regenerate. Though they do have a specialized nervous system that gives them near instant reaction speed and other insane abilities, they also lack any other vital organs to target due to their body composition.
It’s my understanding that dirge was a super modified Gen’Dai who changed his ability to regenerate down to a cellular level. The typical Gen’Dai just regrow limbs but can be killed by decapitation / central nerve severing in the head
Wish he played more of a role.
Really wish he joined Cal, awesome character
It would have detracted from
His character
@@Rabidbeastblade Agreed.
He's a great antagonist, making him a sudden protagonist would be silly.
Haha I forgot the moment where BD backs up Cal at 2:02
Rayvis surpirsed me and ended up being my favorite new character this game. I really could’ve used more of him.
Rayvis is fucking awesome
Rayvis will call you out your Jordan’s
THEYRE FAAAAAAAAKE!! 0:53
I absolutely love his conversation with dagan
He murdered Jedi. That cannot go unpunished.
4:50
Oh, this takes me back
This man took me 3 tries. Thank god for dual saber
The best Rayvis line: “It’s faaaaaaaake!”
the second hardest boss fight in the game
2:42 Reminded me of John Wick
hate how they dont refill you for the second phase because the second phase is tedious asf
Hahaha Go Play Dark Souls
@@nexemisroguelikes234 I have, i've played DS 1 and 3 plus sekiro and elden ring
@Sawyer Stine good.
@@SawyboiWasTakentry beating Malenia, Blade of Miquella solo
You know i didnt think about it much but Rayvis could easily comeback. I mean he easily regenerated from smaller injuries maybe he could heal. If Palpatine can return, so can he
I have a theory that in the third game Cal will find a Force focal point beneath the Tanalorr temple that will allow him to battle all past boss battles in visions while he confronts his past traumas. Ninth Sister, Second Sister, Rayvis, Dagan Gera, and Bode Akuna could all be encountered this way and in different manners allowing us to see some alternate versions of them (ie Ninth Sister as both an Inquisitor and as her former self Masana Tide).
Best game for me since Witcher 3. Just awesome
It was faaake!
Remember fighting his boss fight on the hardest difficulty. Horrible idea to do that as a new player that sucks at playing on the hardest difficulty. Had to change it for this boss.
Just what I was looking for.
I wonder if Rayvis is of the same species as the bounty hunter who faced obi wan
He is. Gen’Dai, they’re called.
@@Crossbones6732 Probably now my favorite race.
These ironclad nigh-immortal Goliath’s with a code? Badass.
@@ValentinoMarino11 Hope we see more of them. Durge (the first Gen’Dai) is supposed to reappear in an upcoming comic, if Disney does it right he could be a recurring character to face off against the Mandalorians, the Mr.X/Nemesis/Adam Smasher/The Mountain of Star Wars.
Yeah. When I found Gen’Dai, I was like Oh shit. Considering how hard it is to kill a Gen’Dai and how it only took a sun to kill Durge, Rayvis is like oh shit, we got another one. So rare, yet meeting one, even if you’re a Jedi or a Mandalorian, it’s basically death sentence, especially not only are they hard to kill, but they also don’t die from old age, giving them thousands of years of experience.
No way he’s dead
Beheading would never kill a Gen'Dai. It's so bad.
They made a big deal of Cal killing him. Safe to say he really is dead.
This gives me hope that Durge will show up someday
Durge showed up in one of the Doctor Aphra comics a couple years ago, it’s only a matter of time before he makes another live action appearance
@@criosovereignHe honestly might be difficult to adapt for live action. With how crazy flexible and fluid Gen'Dai are with their bodies I doubt the CGI needed for him would be cheap, not to mention I don't think casual fans would be able to handle a nearly unbeatable enemy.
Obi-Wan fight with Durge was more impressive.
Obi wan should aimed for the head for that one bounty hunter gen'dai from clone wars 2003
In one of the comics, durge had his head cut and mans said ow. idk what happened here but it was very underwhelming
Yeah he’s not dead anyone who knows anything about their species knows that decapitation and dismemberment isn’t going to kill him
You know you’ve spent too much time on the internet when you unirononically ship Rayvis and Dagan for some reason.
He’s the new Thanos.
You would think it would be nearly impossible to kill this guy just like the one in the clone wars. Very easy 2 kill him and I was very disappointed
Play on grandmaster difficulty pipsqueak
It definitely is impossible on grandmaster, or the closest thing to it
@@pilkers2 I did it this morning :) gotta memorize attack patterns and adjust
@@Rabidbeastblade good job
Gendais die from decapitation, Durge was augmented with science that even if the tiniest bit of his body remains it regenerates, that’s why Rayvis died so quick compared to Durge
I hated this character, he didn’t feel like Star Wars.
Such a bad take
@@vit-t680 no it’s not
Felt more like a halo character tbh
That frog man VA sounds so dam familiar but I can’t put my hand on it…..
Invader zim.
Zim
Ah that show too. I found out the VA does a lot of Anime too so that’s where I’m familiar with
