We went there this year, but couldn't find the cave. There may have been too much water though, It looks like the level is lower in your video than it was when we went.
Thanks to great free promotional videos like these the place became very popular, people messed up the ecosystem w their littering and disregard for nature and now it's all fenced in and you risk getting a criminal trasspassing misdemeanor just for going there... There's a popular overlook up top and so you can't be down by the falls without any onlookers seeing you... You get seen and the rangers will go after you.
Hi Greg, we hiked down to the bottom via the boulders off the side of the road. You can see the boulders from the road overlook viewpoint of the falls. There isn't necessarily a defined path but you may be able to follow foot tracks of previous route takers. And then to get out we climbed back up to the street level to get to our car that was parked in that little parking lot nearby. Hope that helps!
People have gotten hurt and even have fallen and died there, if I remember correctly. Thus, the area is now off limits. However, there is a viewing area right next to the road where the general public can enjoy the view for free, looking down to the falls and out across the mountains in the distance.
So I heard the property is now fenced up from what I heard and you’ll get fined for trespassing but is it worth the swim or would you get caught immediately how often is it patrolled?
Nicholas Pantoni I heard that too but haven’t been able to verify. Even if it is trespassing it’s totally worth seeing, should look into reaching out to the property owner. I think they’re just trying to preserve the moss growth on the falls because it’s so beautiful.
Hi - I don't know of any maps but there are trails to walk along the river on the top side of the waterfall and then also a little trail at the bottom of the falls, but from what i remember it wasn't marked or anything.
Did that link work? It's a Google Maps address for the waterfalls and a description page for the no trespassing signs. The limitations must be new as I have not yet been there this season but back when I did go we were able to explore everything.
MyAdventureHat, then link only gave a a general area nothing specific like a dropped pin or anything. I wonder if you can even get down to it. That kinda sucks if not. I really appreciate any and all info you giving man!!!!
Unfortunately fool people like you encourage others to do the same stupid things that cost hundreds of peoples life every year. This is completely dangerous and I would not advise anyone to do the same.
A Nony Mouse -- I believe the cold mountain water mixes with a hot spring on the way to the falls so the water feels great. Cascade Falls on the other hand is always freezing cold no matter what time of year.
scott thompson Thanks for your answers :) I live in Florida and I've never experienced mountains/hills before. I'd love to visit Virginia one day and see the autumn colors and waterfalls.
See the UA-cam video entitled, "Warm River Cave - Thermal Cave System - Virginia". The water going over the falls comes from this cave. The water is indeed warm and is as much as about 90 degrees F at one or more of the sources deep in the cave. You can feel the water where it crosses under the road just north of the parking area, without doing any trespassing at the falls area. In the winter, the air around the falls and over the creek becomes foggy, the trees are all frosted, and huge icicles grow next to the falls.
A Nony Mouse -- if you're not careful there is a possibility to slip over the top falls since some parts have slick algae on the rocks. The bathtub area right on the edge is sturdy though.
I notice you people are very skilled,Cassy knock off channel, type for people with limited attention spans, its the world is my oyster type thing that sorta offends me,Also imposing your sound over nature ,also offends me, You guys made a dash for danger, that pulled me in a bit,in the cave shades of 007
One of the most beautiful waterfalls I’ve been to. I actually wrote an instrumental song for the piano for it that is published by FJH Music calling Falling Springs Falls. I fly drones and got some great footage there!

It seemed like a spot that could easily flood out when a good rainstorm comes in.
Planning a trip from Alabama to Maine and this will definitely be on the stop list!!
June 16, 2016? There was crazy weather in Virginia that day! Tornadoes even

Please share the tips to hiking down to the swimming holes or where the fall hits the ground

Excellent video
I’m visiting Virginia this 4th July weekend 👌
Alex Mackey - Thank you very much! Enjoy your 4th of July Celebration!!! Cheers
Got to put that on my bucket list.
Definitely Virginia's best waterfall. We used to have a blast there back in my younger days in the 90s.
Sadly, this area is now patrolled and you get a misdemeanor for trespassing. It would've been a dream to swim in.
oh what a bummer
A Nony Mouse oh wow as always
The world is my oyster crowd ,spoiled it for everyone

The curse of social media ruined this place. We watched countless morons fall on the rocks just to snap a selfie & bolt

Incredible video, I've been there myself, but never like you guys did it. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Richard! It's definitely a gem of Virginia.
Awesome!!!😊
Thanks!!!! I really gotta get back there soon. 🤗
How to get here?
US Rt. 220 between Covington and Hot Springs, VA.
Awesome video! Great music and editing! This definitely makes me want to go out on an adventure :)
Do you have a trail map of the area that you wouldn't mind sharing? TIA

What’s the name of this place in Virginia, I need to go there, I’m new in town and don’t know my way around the best spots
Covington Virginia is the town
MyAdventureHat so you can’t go there anymore because it’s patrolled? Where in cov?

How steep of a climb is it from the road above the bottom of the falls?
Emilee Brancheau - It’s not bad. A lot of separate boulders going down so you can make it as steep or as easy as the route you choose.
I've won some Photo competitions with this waterfall such a great place
Well done video! I live 30 miles from there and have never checked it out. Shame on me! I'm going in a day or two.
Steve Martin they say you can get in trouble now since is being patrolled😔

Amazing!!!
Thank you!!
How cold was the water?

Is it safe to sit at the top?

By bathtub area, do you mean the millisecond at 3:01 where the group is toasting each other with beers?
A Nony Mouse -- Yup, that's the spot. Best pool nature ever built.
Nice video.
Thank you!
Awesome video mate. Would love to hang and adventure with yall. Cheers
