That background flare :D Have you considered adding a stepper motor to the 1:1 drive shaft and running it off a v mount for longer takes and sync sound possibility?
interesting you wanna hit me up on ig and talk more about this? @geoffreygonzales edit : oh you were talking about the bolex motor. not really. if i want sound and longer 400’ takes id probably look into an aaton or sr
Dude I love it. I've been looking to use a rig on a super8 camera, and this video just gave me the answer to that. Please, please, just make some more of those super cool rigs videos. Loved this content!!!
Hey man, this is an absolutely insane setup you have going. I recently inherited a bolex reflex from my late great uncle, and I have no idea how to go about using it. I would love if you could share where you learned how to shoot with it, or even better, if you would consider making a video on your workflow with shooting/developing and digitizing the footage from this. Liked and subbed, brb watching all of your videos
oh that’s cool yeah that would be a good idea, got a couple lines up for a month or two but after that can hit me up on instagram @geoffreygonzales and let’s talk more
I’m looking to build my first rig for a h16 reflex. Do you have the actual names of each of the adapter parts that you used here? I’m new to small rig so some guidance would be crisp! Amazing set-up dude!
this is a bolex sbm, it has a bolex bayonet mount. i got à bolex bayonet mount to cmount adapter. then i got a cmount to canon fd mount adapter by viltrox
@@GeoffreyGonzales Hi, where is locate it? I'm try to understand because I've a Bolex H16 Rex 5 and I would like buit these exact great setup! Thank you, this video is amazing
Bro!!!! Suuuuch a sick rig set up! I am currently working on one for my REX2. Quick question, What is your lens set up? I am adapting M42 lenses via the C-Mount to M42 but wanted so use some of my full frame canon glass or even my Xeen cene lens. Is that even possible? Thanks again bro! -Moe
im using old canon fd lenses, with an adapter you can use ef lenses with your boles with this adapter amzn.to/2wP9etB the focal conversion will be 2.8x, so a 50mm lens will be a 140mm lens on 16mm NOTE : some lenses won’t completely work; the aperture and focus can’t be used on the bolex bc it doesn’t have have any electronic contacts to control the lens. manual lenses (that focus and can change aperture by hand when not on the camera) will work
Hey Geoffrey, Can you please share with us breakdown of the setup and parts names and links. I just got my bolex and want to do the same setup man. Thank you, I sent you message on instagram also. Thanks Man
I hate big cities. There was literally an accident, and you finished your YT video. C'mon dude, tend to the scene until 1st responders arrive. Like, wtf. #humansin2020
there’s this thing in filmmaking called editing, where you “cut” from one part of a sequence and can move to a different part of the sequence. that’s what i did here, which is why there isn’t a couple minutes of footage of an empty bench while i went over and checked it out. it was a left turn bumping the side of someone turning right. everyone got out of the cars, and was fine. you didn’t ask how much time was spent off camera. or what i did off camera. or about the severity of the accident. but instead, you just made shallow assumptions, choosing to assume the worst. like, wtf. #humansin2020

Looks nice, have you ever attempted a 400ft magazine with this setup?
0:50 whoa! crazy that happened ... nice rig btw...
This rig looks sick ! Love your content !
From your description later in the video, there seems to be three Rosette adapters not two.. correct?! The description get me very confused!
one is for the focus wheel

Whats the lens adapter you used for the canon lens? I've been looking everywhere - do you have a link?
Using 2 adapters, one Bolex Bayonet mount to C, and one C to Canon FD
Amazing job! Have you got any footage we can see?
João Solimeo stay tuned
Is it Bayonet mount to FD?

that is from the tilta nano, but you can just get a short 4" rod form smallrig
Geoffrey Gonzales and the mount?
Hi how do you trigger the shutter whilst focusing
Garo hello, the bolex has a trigger lock built in on the side
Thanks
