I did see one review of the tilta nano where there was a problem with the nano operation on a gimbal. Try playing around with the positioning between control unit and the gear unit.
Len Guyse Photo yeah there seems to be a dead spot when they’re too close together. i have played around with the position for many hours. this rig can be a good backup if that fails , or just be cheep nicer way to pull focus on this thing
this is the canon fd 19mm, this is the bolex smb so i need to adapt it to c mount first, using a bolex c mount adapter like this then i used a c mount to canon fd adapter it works pretty well, can only close down to about f5.6 tho maybe other adapters will allow it to close down to f22 here is some raw footage with this lens ua-cam.com/video/KhM0mO7raCU/v-deo.html
@@GeoffreyGonzales hey Geoffrey, great video! May you write again the link of the bolex c mount adapter? I cannot see it and it’s quite hard to find :P thanks a lot! Alessandro
Hi great video Geoffrey, what range in lens sizes / diameter can the Tilta mini control. i am planning to use C lenses, Nikon lenses and pl mount lenses with the bolex i have just purchased, and they are all different sizes. Thanks
hi the tilta mini follow focus can work with pretty much any lens as long as you have focus gear on it, which can be added on if the lens itself doesn’t have it it is adjustable on both the 15mm rail side and the angle of the arm. so all of the sizes you mentioned will work. 2 tips tho : 1) get good focus gears, that are stiff and not too soft and don’t have a seam. tilta makes some, but reasearch around. unfortunately i don’t know the name of the brand that i got form work, they’re amazing and are not flexible. this helps in the gear not slipping under load 2) if you’re going to run vintage lenses, make sure the focus action on them is smooth. i’ve had a couple ebay lemons and it’s been a pain feel free to hit me up with any more questions on instagram, somtimes i don’t get notifications for youtube
this is not unfortunately. people do pl conversation for them tho. i would love to convert to pl mount, so i can use optar illumina 16mm glass, which in my experience is the best glass for 16mm. this is a bayonet to c mount adapter, then a c mount to canon fd adapter. can probably do a cmount to pl adapter for slightlyless than a permanent conversion, but the pl mount adapters run around 3-500$

Thanks for the video! Which Canon glass do you have on the bolex and how did you adapt it (to focus to infinity)?

This is awesome man. Do you know if I would be possible to mount the follow focus on the left side?
Ben Ericson yes, the focus handle just is in a different position facing a but up
