Samsung CU8000 4K LED TV Review | Samsung Quality - Budget Friendly

Samsung's CU8000 4K HDR TV is an entry-level model. It's available in 43”, 50”, 55”, 65”, 75”, and 85” screen sizes. It offers decent picture quality with great detail, clarity, and color rendering as its strong points. It's not loaded with all the premium features of high-end models, but does have the basics for an enjoyable viewing experience including one of the the best smart TV platforms available (Tizen OS).
Only the 85" model has 4K @120Hz and VRR and FreeSync. The other screen sizes use 60Hz panels.

I'm looking for a 50 in Samsung TV for my guest room on a budget. I was thinking about getting the CU8000. My main TV is the Samsung S95B 65 in. I got lucky and got a really good unit. It's so thin it scares me. It's heavy and paper thin so hard to move it around. That's the only downside to the TV. I almost bought the LG G3.

How do I play xbox series x in 4k I put the option on my xbox an it says the tv doesn't support it but I click info on source were my xbox is an it says resolution an uhd but doesn't say 4k

I'm not much of a gamer and rarely play video games. I'm also not familiar with the Xbox console. However, I do know UHD or Ultra High Definition is also used to define 4K TVs and the terms are used interchangeably. That being said, the 4K TVs that consumers purchase have a resolution of 3840 x 2160p which is slighty less than the full spec 4K resolution of 4096 x 2160p which was introducded for digital cinema. So technically speking, 4K is slightly better the UHD. However, visually they will look similar. And for home viewing UHD is the same as viewing in 4K.

Is the Samsung CU8000 4K TV better than Samsung CU8500? Looking at picture quality. My TV is is in a bright room.

The CU8500 is the UK equivalent of the US CU8000. So I assume they should have similar performance, but I'm not certain. Thanks for your comment.

As you've noticed, this review is based on the 85" screen size and is the only model in the CU8000 line with a 120Hz refresh rate and VRR for gaming. This means the 85-inch model will perform better with motion control and provide smoother video gaming compared to the other sizes in the lineup including the 75-inch model.
