NOTE: I was just informed there was a mistake in the English rules. When advancing for the first time on a Progress track, you place your marker on the very bottom space and THEN you start counting your advancement spaces (in other words, you never pay to enter the first space of a Progress track).
It is always such a great feeling when you get a new game to find a smiling Rodney Smith* video waiting for you to help you learn it! 👍😄👍 *we think “Smiling Rodney Smith” should be you official title. Actually, in our house you are known as Mr. Smiley, and many’s the time my other half Kathy will ask me if there is a Mr. Smiley video to help her learn a new game. 😄😄😄
I’m so glad you have a tutorial for this game! I already pre ordered and can’t wait to play it. I like how they are different factions and the whole triggering combo cards.
Been waiting ages for this to arrive in the UK and finally got it this week and to the table this afternoon. Brilliant game. Seductively simple yet really taxes the old grey cells working out the best position and flow of the cards. Thanks Rodney for another great explanation of the game, made it so much easier to follow (and we had you up on the big screen just in case we got stuck!). Highly recommend this game for newer boardgamers, great fun.
I haven't heard very much about this game. This tutorial is very helpful to see how it works, but also the components and art! It almost reminds me of a phone game in its layout. Thank you for the great video!
I really love your videos, they’re the easiest to understand and I can actually play the game without reading all the rulebook before. Could you please, PLEASE do Eclipse second dawn ? 🙏🏻 thank you for all your work ! Much appreciated.
I have already preorderd this gem, but when I told my wife about this video she told me "Rodney made a video? That increases the chances I will play immensely"
Hi Rodney, I want to inform you that the english version might have an incorrect rule about Advancing on the Progression board, as I spotted a difference between Polish and English manuals In Polish, it specifically says that if this is your first time advancing, you FIRST put your pawn on the first space of the Progression board, and THEN you advance. It seems to me like the Polish version of this rule is the correct one, but I contacted Portal Games about it and will comment back when I know for sure.
It is confirmed: the english version has an error. When you advance for the first time, you ignore the first space - it serves only as a starting point.
Thanks for the head's up about this. We have the tutorials checked by the publisher, and this was missed. I'll pin a comment to try to ensure future players don't make a mistake.
@@WatchItPlayed I'm sure that some players will check out the comment section, but as a player who always watches your videos (because it's simply the easiest way of learning the game, in my opinion) I don't check out the comments often. Maybe you can update the video with the added correction? Unless it's simply too much hassle, which is understandable.
@@patrykzukowski7471 I wish I could update it - that's what I normally do. However, the video got approved by the publisher, and I waited a month (I usually wait to see if anything crops up), and just recently deleted the original files. Unfortunate, but this happens on occasion. On the rare occasion where it does, I also add any updates to the description of the video, so if you're ever wondering if an error slipped through, you can check there as well. Thanks for bringing this error to my attention!
In all your links posted, I'm surprised you don't have one linking directly to where you can buy/order the game (unless I'm blind). If i were to get the game, I'd want to support you guys with a referral.
Very kind of you to offer. We generally don't want to direct people to one particular place to buy. Very happy to have support from people interested in picking up a promo (www.podpledge.com/project/382/The-Watch-It-Played-s-Promo-Store/shop), or doing a donation to Patreon: www.patreon.com/watchitplayed
It’s driving me CRAZY. MY WIFE AND I NEED TO KNOW! How many takes does it take to just launch that box and catch it up right? There’s no WAY ITS ONE TAKE
Are all the cards unique or do many do similar things as others? I'm wondering if there is a reason to consider other peoples plays than just maxing my own mine.

I knew I wasn’t crazy! This video does exist! Thanks, Rodney.

So glad you were able to get your hands on a copy and that you enjoyed!
I love this guy!! He helped me sm back when I played a lot more often!❤❤❤
Very kind of you to say Shawn!
This looks really fun! I like games where you chain react things as you build. I look forward to trying this out as soon as I can.
Glad you enjoyed what you saw - I hope you get a chance to try it!

A pleasure to share it!
Great work on the Cart/Card portion! As a fellow Canadian I understand what an obstacle course that was.
THANK YOU. Not everyone gets it :)
This game seems fun and looks like it has tons of replay ability!
Appreciate you checking out the video!

Oh, look at that, you did make an Imperial Miners video and I've already watched it and saved it for reference.
Got you covered Frank!
Looks fun. Off to order. Thanks
Have a great time playing!

Looking forward to getting this game! And Marty will be happy to see that we don't have to discover the solo mode on our own this time ;)
Have a great time playing Jonathan!
Great video and now I am super interested in this game. It reminds me of the excellent and grossly underrated game, Tales of Glory !!!
I'm off to google that title!
@@WatchItPlayed The Brothers Murph are responsible for my love of Tales of Glory !!
It's back!! Back to binge watching hehe
Sorry for the blip!
Great video! Looks very cool!
Thanks Henri!
It’s driving me CRAZY. MY WIFE AND I NEED TO KNOW! How many takes does it take to just launch that box and catch it up right? There’s no WAY ITS ONE TAKE
But what if it is? What if it IS just one take... EVERY TIME? That's a fun idea, right?
I was just about to comment the same thing 💀💀💀
Can you guys do "Western Legends"? Would really like to see that one and I like your channel.

There are a few duplicates of different cards.
How many tries does it take to catch the lid right side up for the intro?
Are you suggesting it's not the first time, EVERY TIME? *gasp*
@@WatchItPlayed OMG, you are right, I'm so sorry. It's always the first time. Every time!
I didn't find this one last night. What was the correction?
Just a card in a wrong spot during one of the example layouts.
I'm pretty sure the box toss landed in the correct orientation last time....did it not???
I'll never tell!
I didn't say anything since it was just a chain reaction example. I guess enough people did though, lol.
Only needed one person to say something - I don't like errors in the videos! :)
size of cards?
Standard Magic The Gathering Card size if I remember correctly.
🥓🥓🥓
Thanks Frank!
@@WatchItPlayed no, thank you for this video!
