Just a tip, place the stacks next to the main board and only place the pieces for the round onto the board. We found the shape stacks got in the way for other players when they tried to see the other options on the main board. Great tutorial, great game. Can't wait for the expansion. In 4 players we always run out of wonders.
Great video! Love this game! Curious on your example of building the bridge over water rendering that space as no longer water. I don't recall it saying that in the rules and the thread on BGG discussing that hasn't had an official ruling by the designer (that I've seen). Did they clarify that rule somewhere? I'm not one to doubt your explanations, Rodney, ;) but that has come up in every game we've played so far, so I was curious on that rule so I can make sure I teach it correctly going forward. :)
@@WatchItPlayedAwesome, thanks so much! I was overthinking it from a thematic standpoint, but it's simpler mechancially, and is obviously the intended way to play that anything covered up ceases to be whatever it was. Thanks again, super helpful! :)
@@2185JMac Yeah, I think it really is meant to help mechanically and avoid those situations where things start to really get covered up and then you're moving pieces around to remind yourself "wait, what was under there?" :)
Hello! Very nice video and thanks for intrusion! However I still have one quick question. Can we place road/building next to Monuments? or we only can put the tower next to Monuments? or None of above?
Hey there, I'm always happy to try to help with rules questions, but if the answer is provided in the video, than I have to direct you there. You'll find an index in the description to help you find the section you might be looking for.
At 2:30, those monuments pieces look like they can make their own city and be the center piece that everyone talks about while playing the game. I think the designer must have paid a decent amount of money to get those wooden pieces to look good based on their beautiful colors, etc. and I don't see that much attention put into wooden pieces that often in retail games like this one. I almost thought they were pained minis in a way. Otherwise, great tutorial as usual.
Can you take a new loan on the same turn you pay off your old one? Both are free actions no? I pay off and end up on 6 gold, take a new one so I can buy for 9? Or is it you pay it off and end on 6 and then have to buy for 1 gold or take a monument and end the round? Maybe I'm missing it but I can't find it in the rulebook.

@@WatchItPlayed I know what you SAID in the video, I can't find any confirmation in the rulebook, which is was more what I was looking for. Nothing in the rulebook states you can't do both afaik but your statement in the video implies you can't. Was just looking for confirmation. I appreciate your videos often don't have many mistakes but they do happen. Also I've gotten conflicting answers on BGG, so there's also that. Sorry for not just taking the word of a youtuber over the rulebook I guess.
Had to double take because one of the wonders look suspiciously modern, and after I did some digging it turned out to just be the Byzantine Hippodrome, lol
Rodney, you're the best. Thanks for what you do for the world of board games.
Very kind of you to say! Thanks for checking out the video!
Great to see you doing a piece on this wonderful brazilian game
I was very happy to get the chance - glad you've enjoyed the game too!
Criminally underrated game. Easy to teach, hard to master, and very fulfilling building your city.
Glad this is one you've enjoyed too!
Simply the best at teaching games. So. Good. Thank you.
Very kind of you to say - and great to see you covering A Gest Of Robin Hood :)
@@WatchItPlayed I am not worthy!
Sound is fine for me.
World Wonders is a great game. There's a new expansion coming out for it soon.
Thanks for the video!
I'm keen to see what the expansion adds!
The expansion is already out on Arcan Wonder's website
Rodney your very good at what you do in these boardgame tutorials. I often buy games based on your walk throughs!
Very nice of you to take the time to say - very glad to know you've found them useful!
One of my favourite games of last year. Great run through, Rodney
Thanks Fox!
Love your teaching video. It's always the best resource to review the rule and refresh memory. Thank you.
VERY kind of you to say, thank you!
Looks fun, thanks for the rundown. 😎👍👍
A pleasure! Appreciate you checking it out :)
Great video as usual. The wooden monuments look really cool!
They're a really nice touch, right?

We do a similar thing - good tip!
That's it. Must play this.
Glad you enjoyed what you saw!
Awesome video as always, thank you!
You're very welcome - thanks for checking it out!
Thank you so much, Rodney.
You're very welcome!
Looks like a fun one! I like the little wonders.
Me too. I almost thought they could be their own city when I saw all of them at once at 2:30.
They did a great job with those pieces, didn't they?

Yeah, this was something I confirmed with the publisher and team - glad to be able to clarify!

Thank you for such helpful video. Can tower be placed next to a monument?
Yep!
Great video, thank you!
You're very welcome!
Can you place a building adjacent to the sidewalk, or does it have to be next to a road?
Only a road, or another building of the same type.

This game is quickly becoming my favorite, both solo and multiplayer.
Glad you've been enjoying! I enjoyed the solo game too :)

Do you have to land on a population symbol to gain it, or does passing one count too?
Can you please give me a time stamp to the section of the video you are asking about?
11:29 The video states “if you land on…” I suspect that is the cause for confusion/doubt.
I love watching your videos! They're really great!
So nice of you to say - glad you're enjoying them!
Thats alot of words you have to retake if the box lands upside down😏
Are you suggesting that would ever, ever happen? *gasp*

-sigh- well now I’ll have to add another game to my wishlist/inevitable shelf of opportunity… dang it Rodney!
Oopsie! :)

You did your research!
Those model monuments are giving me GAS (game acquisition syndrome).
I hadn't heard that one before :)
Could your videos be more perfect? 👍😀🎉👏🏻
So glad you're enjoying them!
