I came here from the homesteading channel - no interest in cars beyond it cranking when I want to go somewhere. However, I’m the daughter of a man that could fix, create, assemble, upgrade, enhance all things with a motor. There was no end to his knowledge. He owned his own repair shop and would get calls daily from other mechanics asking for his help on troubleshooting a problem with a vehicle. I have never met someone with his knowledge and passion for not only vehicles but also for teaching the skills he had learned. My dad and husband were building a rat rod when my dad passed 6 years ago. I miss him terribly but your enthusiasm for the craft makes me smile and reminds me of when he would talk with his buddies - conversations were always about trucks, cars and engines whether he was at a backyard bbq or a funeral. So glad there are people like you - passionate and willing to teach the skills you have learned.

Im an electrician by trade BUT I got into that career because when I was a kid, I used to install car stereos and alarms on the streets of Brooklyn for all the other neighborhood kids. Knowing basic wiring got me into the electrical field but I ALWAYS loved cars. It started at 9… my dad had a 74’ Gran Torino that was always running rough, I asked him if I could try to fix it. He just laughed. Well, I fixed it! It was empowering and I was hooked on those old cars from that day forward.

Absolutely right about the coil in the corner. I actually used a dremel tool a notched the back of the cover. Worded great and aided in tucking the wires
That doesn’t sound too bad. Ive seen some guys running these in vettes and they have to chop 1/8 of the entire cover off to clear alternators and such. Crazy!
