I got a question for you. How are those dolphin gauges working out for you? I’ve heard a ton of bad things about them but they are really the only Simi affordable option. I really want to go with the Dakota Digital repro gauges but damn it’s hard to justify the $1300 for them. Did you build it yourself or did you buy it already built? If you built it yourself we think a lot alike. My truck is almost identical to yours. I put a LQ4/4l80 in my 52 running with a Holley terminator xmax. I started with a 3600 so I put mine on an S10 frame. We have the same type of steering wheel, same layout with the battery and master cylinder on the firewall. Thing is I just went to town and didn’t really do any research on what everyone else was doing with the little things so it’s nice to see that I didn’t really do something that’s not common.
Is it done yet? I’m thinking of doing the same thing everyone is telling me to go this route more dependable. But the rebel in me really wants to go the 838 stroker route.
@Angelo Terrones man, not even close to done. Lol. I've had a busy year with buying/selling/renovating houses and young kids kids at home are very time consuming as well. I'm still doing the prep work on the S10 chassis, but I should be ready to mount the motor/tranny and 1948 body on the chassis soon.
I got a 1952 5 window that im currently putting a 5.7 ls with a 4l80 and powered by the Holley terminator max. You can run a 1987-1995 tbi suburban tank. Fits perfectly under the bed and it’s about 30 gallons. Take off the old pump from the sending unit and put a walbro 255lph
@@ryanwebster2470 1955 was the last year for that body style. Its like I have a 1995 Toyota Hi Lux 4x4 pickup. The last year for the Hi Lux. But when I get any parts I have to say 1994. Or they assume that it is a Tacoma

I'm starting my 49 project how hard was it to swap it to a one piece windsheild?
Love your truck. What are the guages? Dakota? Very nice. If you make enough smoke no one will know what color of truck did it!
What muffler did you put in?
What size wheels and tires? You say 20” but they’re staggered.
Is this on stock frame ?
What fuel tank did you find to fit between the frame rails? The speedway for 47-53 is too wide. I'm working on a LS swap in a 54' now.
Good fun!
Howdy!
I got a '59 Apache and looking to do a full swap as well from a 2006 Tahoe. Let me know who done all the work on the swap. 'preciatecha!

Nice build. I'm building a 1948 5-window with a 5.3 LS now. Are you running the S-10 fuel tank? If so, which fuel pump you using?
