WHO KNOWS THE BAND TO WHICH THIS SONG BELONGS ?

In late 2020 a listener to Ian Christe's ROOTS metal history show on SiriusXM Liquid Metal submitted a cassette of a song taped of the radio in 1987, and asked for help identifying the band. What started out as a simple song ID soon developed into a full-on mystery, as none of the usual metal druids and gurus around the world seem to know the answer. Who is this band?
Here's what we know:
* This song was taped from the nationally syndicated zRock in 1987, various DJs from that time have been contacted but haven't been able to ID the track. The DJ was probably Pat Dawsey, who hasn't been located yet
* A different person attempted to ID the song on Metal-Archives forums in 2009, this person has now surfaced as of March 2021. They also taped this song from the radio in 1987, possibly from Bill Peters' "Metal on Metal" radio show on WJCU Cleveland. Bill Peters has been contacted without reply yet. This person's recording of the song sounds slightly cleaner
A huge number of bands have been ruled out, some for obvious reasons, others after a lot of footwork. There are lots of clues here in the high quality of the original recording, the fact that the singer seems to be a native English speaker, the musical way the song is put together... but so far those are just clues that haven't let to anything concrete. This sounds strongly like mid-80s Texas or California power metal, but neither of those avenues has proven fruitful. Maybe the answer is in UK metal or even the Christian metal underground

That is most interesting information from the annals, my friend. I would have guessed Black Sabbath, but that doesn't fit with the year of the first appearance. If even the druids and gurus don't know, nobody can blame me for not knowing! ;-)

@@Weltenkinder OK. Let me tell you. People answered. And trust me these are real underground nerds. They are since 2 years on the hunt for this band now. Another Mysterium they found. So maybe there is a chance. Whenever I know more, I will tell you. That group I have is a international group for underrated Metal Albums. So we deal daily with obscure artists I told you, I am more than just the usual metal fan. And the people there are really crazy about underground metal. There is a way. To my ears it sounds like a US Band. That limits the search a bit

No need to rush with this, as you said they even asked several Bands (Redd Barron, Blackmayne, ZRock) but they are out with this Song.
So it isn´t just a Hoax, and the Song is too good produced that it could be just a unknown Bedroom-Production.
@@Weltenkinder Yes. It has Pro Quality. It's very strange, Bands can get lost like this one. But there you see how many many bands exist or existed in metal. I see daily stuff in my group I never heard of. And I know thousands of bands. But nobody can know everything. Let's see what comes out here. Video goes well with the track
