I just started not too long ago. I have over 20 “unlisted” videos I’m working on when I’m not working, to release to the public. The animations and storyboard just take forever .
Very well done! First comparative video like this I've ever seen. Repeal the NFA. Every American including the poor should have access to Machine-guns if they so choose...its a right... Call Congressmen once a week to tell them to draft or support legislation to do exactly that. I'm doing that...so should everyone else. Otherwise jury election in gun cases= elect not guilty for Gun charges. We the people can do that too to pull back the NFA.
PEOPLE WATCHING THIS PLEASE READ: this coming from a combat vet. Great video on the difference of each, but I have disagree with a few things. First, binary is the best civilian practical way to get more rounds on a cqb target. The force reset triggers are a gimmick and only a range toy. They work specifically on finger pressure so to much and it will stop the action, to little it will stop the action. You need a precise amount of pressure to run. So in a real cqb situation, when you are startled (think when someone jumps out from a corner and yells "boo"), your body naturally tenses up. So in real world, you would squeeze the trigger with a death grip and when you only get one round and not a string....you are dead. It takes practice and experience to overcome the natural "surprised death grip" in combat. If you've ever been in a firefight, you know exactly what im talking about. These triggers are pure range toys with no combat practicality. Binary triggers offer when selected one round on pull and one on release. Given the same scenario above, yes you will experience the same death grip with any trigger, but once your mind "relaxes" from the initial surprise, you get a round releasing the trigger. From there with training and trigger manipulation (and assuming your rifle runs well with the binary) you can get several rounds on target with normal trigger pull and release. Now I know a bunch of people will say "well I've been trained to hold the trigger to the rear and ride it forward to reset. That is precision shooting not combat. Anyone that has been in real combat does not do that discipline, riding the trigger forward to reset is for precision shooting. If someone says they have been in a cqb firefight and have held the trigger back and ride it forward to reset is a lier. In close combat or even normal combat distances, you pull the trigger and release and do it as fast as necessary. Holding/riding a trigger to reset is for range quals and precision shooting, not real world combat within 300 meters. So the binary for civilian use excels in this situation. Same "death grip" will happen with a n ordinary pull only trigger, but when you release your grip to fire another shot, you take precious milliseconds to let go, allow the trigger to reset, and pull again. In a cqb firefight, .2 seconds could be life or death. If I can get 2 rounds on a target by a press and release vs 1 on a press, that second round could be my life saver and kill shot. With the forced reset trigger, you are going to pull the trigger, death grip the trigger and when you only get 1 round your brain will disorient as to why you are not getting a string of rounds and will take seconds to process that to much pressure is on the trigger. If you have never been in combat it's hard to explain but if you have you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. This is the basic reason the military went away from full auto. Guys death grip and before they know it a 30rd mag is spent with only a few rounds actually on target. Burst allows you to get the first few rounds on target but forces you to release the death grip and your mind to get over the initial shock of surprise, and still allows a high rate of fire but at a purposeful pull of a trigger. So all this said (and if you've ever been in real combat you know exactly what I'm talking about), all the forced reset triggers are pure range toys with no practicality and binary (for civilians that are restricted to semi auto) has some real world practicality when it comes to real combat. Overall great video showing the difference!
Good review on the three round burst. I am a Vietnam Era Vet and during the Vietnam War you were ambushed by enemy in heavy jungle you mostly could not see so full auto suppresion fire was the norm. Now the Desert Wars of course were a different scenario. Maybe we need a selector switch that does all of the above depending on where you are in the world and who is shooting at you. Thanks for your demonstration as I only had the M16A1 and never fired the three round burst.
I super appreciate you sharing your experience to learn from ! I’d basically just practice bursting with the full select. Pretty similar and that way the select lever doesn’t have too many modes to choose from. I wanna thank you again for sharing your time in service. I appreciate that greatly.
This brings back some basic training memories. Circa 1985. It's was a M16A1, Iron sites, forward assist and birdcage flash hider. I believe it was called a multi range target. It was the one large target with progressively smaller silhouettes to simulate different distances. I believe it was set up at 25 yards. The rifles did not have a 3 round burst. We were instructed how to do that. The position was standing (in a overturned Drain pipe) rifle rested on sand bags. The rear sling was detached and we wrapped the front webbing sling in our hand a couple of times to try and keep the muzzle down. Three round burst at each silhouette. I believe it was 10 silhouettes on each target. That thing jumped around so much that I could have just aimed at the center of the entire target did my 3 round burst and would have probably had the same results. And I agree with the posting a couple down about the M60 being easier to control and more accurate. Just like you said in the video I would not want to lug that thing around all day.
Love your sharing of past experiences ! Thanks for that! I never would have thought to wrap the sling to try and reduce recoil. Makes me picture Rambo haha!!! Thanks for watching !!!

Found your channel through Brass Facts! Glad I did, I really wanted to hear a different take on the binary vs. full auto, and this video hit the mark.(Pun intended)... Sub'd and liked! I run a binary on one of my rigs, I enjoy it and think it has some use, but mostly just used for fun. If suppression is ever needed, and no FA is available, it could have some purpose if it is tuned right to run.
Great video, very informative. Just a heads up, under UA-cam's new "guidelines" for gun related content. They have a murky new policy that goes into affect June 18th and will be retroactive. - High capacity magazines or belts carrying more than 30 rounds. - Accessories that enable a firearm to simulate automatic fire, - Accessories that convert a firearm to automatic fire, such as: bump stocks, gatling triggers, drop- in auto sears, or conversion kits.
I agree on semi auto being the best up close, but I would rather have a select fire SMG up close than any of those. Good modern ones are super controllable.
I personally believe that is a large portion of the Second Amendment Community who truly believe that the NFA and the Hughes Amendment need to go. I frequently make comments about this on numerous Reddit pages and on here on videos like there and consistently go and get a large amount of likes. Those two after mention government addition to the 2nd Amendment Bar most average blue-collar Americans from ever getting the same quality of firearm that rich or well-off individuals have or individuals who have high disposable incomes. My question to anybody honestly done their research is doesn't the Second Amendment guarantee the same level of protection through it for middle class or lower class citizens as it doesn't rich? Doesn't everybody deserve that right?
The nfa regulations definitely make it hard for middle and low class to own said firearms for sure. Seems the restrictions went like this : “ well we didn’t say you can’t have them, it’ll just be very exspensive and resource draining to own them” . Under much reading of the federalist papers it seems when the 2nd was written that 1- only the (PEOPLE) reserve the right to keep arms, and 2- private merchant ships had military issue heavy weaponry like cannons (ordinance) for example which means there was no weapon class restrictions either in the 2nd. If enough citizens get into the 3 branches and can be changed if the will is strong enough.
@@deltathirtyfour I personally feel that Americans who honestly go and support and defend the second amendment should have a huge issue with that. I honestly feel that many Americans have become so apathetic to the government chipping away at our rights that they failed to care or see the importance of standing up against things like that. It truly does feel like there's one set of rules for people with wealth and money compared to other people who are in different tax brackets.

great educational content: but for those of us that cannot afford or legally own full auto or burst AR's. that leaves us with FRT style triggers and binary to remain legal. personally I would lean toward Binary over frt style ,for the fact that you can burst controllably and fire simulated full auto
Like the video and information presented but as someone who has also used and owned these same trigger types I have to say on binary and FRT triggers it depends on your buffer setup and also what companies you have. Some perform much better than others. For example, the best binary I have ever seen and used is the ITF trigger (In the field Defense) but they are no longer around as they were sued and bullied by Franklin Armory till they had to shut down. Cheapest and safest binary I have ever seen that could not outrun the BCG like other binaries. As for FRT trigger ones from Rare Breed with either Rare Breed's or Tommy Triggers three mode selector upgrades work much more reliably than standard ones or standard FRT's with armamentusa upgrades work nearly flawless.
thanks ! im not gonna lie i am very fond of the a2 myself! I'll probably triple the size of the targets for part 2 so that we can see the spread size out at a few longer distances.
@@deltathirtyfour The A2 is my favorite of the three. I personally like three round burst more compared to full auto. Plus that color on it is sweet. Best of luck on your UA-cam journey!

The only time the A1 was desired when I was in, FPF (Final Protective Fire). They were still transitioning in the field units from A1 to A2 at the time. Full auto, the M60 was more accurate and easier to control in my opinion.
@@deltathirtyfour they must have changed what they call it now. If your position was being overrun all guns fire until you are out of ammo in your sectors of fire. Normally PLT Ldr or PLT Daddy would call it. Late 80's drill they would run us through in Basic.

Thanks ! Yeah I actually started to pursue the true 3 round route, and decided it wasn’t worth the atf process so the dream died for me. It’s nostalgia for me. And glad you liked!
Great video realy good compare, 3 round burst looks really effective the fire rate you got and spread even on 100m its realy good I think if he aimeed target in in the middle he will squeeze all 6 round in target as we saw is not impossible to control someone with enough practice can make it very effective and efficient
Thanks for watching. yeah i only aimed low so that when preparing for the full auto recoil, i could capture as many impacts as possible. I just ran all at the same point of aim at the bottom rather than middle. Next time im going to use a uch larger target.
Thanks for watching ! As far as my opinion on the binary and efartee is basically : For almost half of the cost you can get a single stage trigger that is just as fast as the binary, if not faster without worrying about selecting to safe if you don’t want the second shot. I also snapped the ambi select lever because the screw got seized. Since the binary isn’t as fast as FA the second shot can impact unpredictably. Aside from shooting for fun, the binary doesn’t have a practical application nor does it balance between near and far as good as semi auto. With the FRT you have to self improve the fire control group with a dremel and additional buffer parts for trustworthy dependable cycling, and I still wouldn’t trust it, too many malfunctions. I had high hopes for both, but they’re just not there yet. Hope that helps.
@deltathirtyfour Yes and no. The initial FRT's had growing pains for sure, and I've never seen one run reliably. Graves (who made the first FRT in the mid 70's) is available. With the upgrade selector from Tommy they are seemingly reliable. This is all a mute point today because uncle sam....blah blah blah. Because all of us here are law abiding, model citizens I won't go into much detail. I have heard that these systems are both robust and reliable. But I cannot confirm this for obvious reasons. Semper Fi
Is the few inches it collapses for transport or whatever really worth the instability, wobbliness and all that? That being said I haven't tried magpul's new collapsible stocks and supposedly they have a pretty stiff lock up.
@@deltathirtyfour I have two Franklin triggers, and they have continued to work great even with suppressor blow back all over them through many thousands of rounds. With a 22lr conversion kit, they always make me giggle. Your Acogs videos are what hooked me originally, but this was a great one as well
@@trunkmonkey56 my Franklin has ran flawless as well. It’s just not too consistent as far as predicting impacts when fired fast. The fast “reset” one I won’t name is the one that is inconsistent even with the “moon cut”. I’m used to it but I find myself having to coach proper pressure with people who haven’t ran one before. Glad you liked this one. I have some very cool animations for red dots coming up and different zero / height above bore stuff that I think would be useful for people to share to friends.
I would think automatic-sounding fire would have a greater psychological effect on those inexperienced with its effectiveness from rifelemen. Conversely the accuracy of good semi-auto fire would better suppress more experienced foes. When you mix in accurate automatic fire from a properly employed light machine gun, it would keep even the experienced opponents guessing, especially if the reports between the automatic rifles and machine guns are similar.
Full auto IMO, use a mounted 240B. Its the best system I've ever fired and if i had to defend a position I would want a pair of them in elevated nests. But FUCK patrolling with a belt fed 😂😂
Interesting test, a few comments the A1 allows you to tailor burst length 2 rd 3 round or 5 round depending on distance to target with fewer parts in the trigger mechanism. Colt also made small numbers of 4 position selectors in the 90s to bad they are no longer made had choice of 2 round 3 round and 6 round ratchet. Second thought at the range you were firing you could have dumped a 30 round mag into the target using the taylor assault position. I would like to see you repeat the test with the taylor under arm assault position and see you comments on it.
2 round burst sounds more useful than 3, I believe HK tried it with their UMP submachine guns. Never heard anything about "6 round ratchet" how is different than a burst mode? 🤔
It’s useful, and was a tight group since I used the heavier hbar barrel also. My only gripe is that it needs some tuning in the setup to be perfected. Sometimes it can create malfunctions . I’ve had about 12 malfunctions out of around 500 rounds with it. When it works, it works , and when it doesn’t, well.... have a rod kit ready.
binary is the reliable poor mans full auto full auto is too expensive and frt is unreliable binary is good despite what he says and with practice can shoot really fast and one again reliable and its fairly accurate
By the way, the fostech echo 2 has an out of battery safety like an autosear, preventing you from outrunning the trigger and letting you practically speaking shoot much faster than the franklin armory triggers, which require a little more skill and tuning. I have a couple short videos of messing around with it. Absolutely a gimmick, but works pretty well for a gimmick.
@@deltathirtyfour if you do, do NOT go the echo sport route like I did for the first time. insanely hard to install. for slightly more money, the proper echo II is more reliable and a drop in trigger.
I loved my FA binary. I chose a very heavy barrel in my build specifically for help in mitigating muzzle climb, along with a Seekins Brake that everyone at the range hated my guts for. Once you learn to time your pulls and releases, you can get a pretty steady rate of fire that sounds like those clunky machineguns in WW2 movies. 🤣
@@matthewd.1805 A buddy of mine has a Franklin, tried it and it didn't go well. Judging by videos and everything else, I was using it wrong in some way. I am now researching many other binary triggers and considering using the Franklins for a couple builds, and particularly a future TG36. I am convinced the perfect binary trigger simply does not exist.
The FRT and the WOT are where it's at, but they both have 1 very huge downfall; they don't have a semi auto selection. The Franklin does but the selector is poorly designed and made from cheap aluminum. I wish that one of these companies would make a true 3rd selector mode and use a standard style selector steel selector switch. I'll hold out for a better version before buying any more improved triggers. I do own 1 Franklin but the selector sucks and it remains on a toy gun for range use. I'd never rely on it for SHTF or home protection.
I think that one of the companies was about to release a dedicated semi select. Not sure who. But that may not matter because I guess the atf is going after the reset based triggers. Binary may be the only option people can buy in the future.
Semi/full auto is the way to go. Burst trigger groups on M16s are horribly designed. When you flip to burst you get anywhere from 1-3 shots on the first pull because the cam isn't deactivated on semi. Also it's just a substitute for proper training on full auto, which is best used in short bursts. Undertrained soldiers would waste ammo by magdumping their full auto M16s in Vietnam instead of firing them in short bursts. Semi auto is usually the best way to use an M16 though.
Pretty good video. Good explanation of what full auto is best used for at the end, but you forgot one very important thing: if you are going to use full auto on a rifle, one should learn to control your bursts and how to manage the inevitable recoil as best as possible. As you demonstrated here, anything beyond 5 rounds at close ranges can easily go off target if the user is not careful with their technique/stance or doesn't have the right setup (M16A1 upper vs your custom upper later on really showed that). In my service, we almost never use full auto on the C7 beyond suppressive fire (and even then, only if one or more C9 LMGs are down for whatever reason) and very specific CQB circumstances where rapid semi auto fire somehow isn't cutting it. On paper, mechanical burst fire is great, especially if you lack time or care to train troops to properly control full auto bursts on a rifle. In practice, all it really did was needlessly complicate a weapon more so than it needed to be. We never adopted burst fire; we simply taught our troops to fire full auto in bursts of 2 to 5 rounds in the circumstances described previously. And clearly the US military feels the same way, since full auto has made a comeback via the widespread adoption of the M4A1 and the US army's brand new (and a whole other can of worms) XM5 rifle.
Yeah the heavier barrel of the m4a1 and the 16” I used helps recoil a lot. Not sure what I forgot to mention exactly. You basically said the same thing I said in the video. And yeah not sure how I see the xm5 yet. So many pros and cons.
@@deltathirtyfour From what I can tell, the XM5 has three advantages (Armour penetration, longer range, mOaR sToPpIn PoWaH lol) in exchange for making everything else worse. The weight is greater than a fully kitted out M16A4 (13 pounds with just the rifle and the suppressor, not even the optic). It kicks as hard as a 7.62 battle rifle with the standard issue bimetal cases with insanely high chamber pressure (80,000 PSI, last I checked). it has a very short barrel which when paired with the included suppressor, gives you zero advantage in CQB compared to the M4A1 (it's longer than a C7A2 with the stock fully extended), and if you remove the suppressor, get ready to deal with insane muzzle flash and muzzle concussion (especIally indoors) due to the high pressure rounds. As for what you forgot, I just watched the video again in it's entirety. You only mentioned controlling bursts on a full auto once, and that was in the context of a belt fed, bipod or tripod mounted machine gun, not in the context of a M16 rifle with full auto instead of burst mode. That's all. No big deal.

By the way for those that don't know, cqb= close quarters battle
First, binary is a "work-around" of unconstitutional infringements. Maybe you could just stop abiding?

I definitely prefer the f reset over binary. The binary was my way of simulating burst for nastalgia.

Just a heads up, under UA-cam's new "guidelines" for gun related content. They have a murky new policy that goes into affect June 18th and will be retroactive.
- High capacity magazines or belts carrying more than 30 rounds.
- Accessories that enable a firearm to simulate automatic fire,
- Accessories that convert a firearm to automatic fire, such as: bump stocks, gatling triggers, drop- in auto sears, or conversion kits.
The M14 7.62/51 was a hard hitter. Loved this rifle. ammo was heavy but it was a drop at first shot.

I honestly feel that many Americans have become so apathetic to the government chipping away at our rights that they failed to care or see the importance of standing up against things like that. great educational content: but for those of us that cannot afford or legally own full auto or burst AR's. that leaves us with FRT style triggers and binary to remain legal. personally I would lean toward Binary over frt style ,for the fact that you can burst controllably and fire simulated full auto
With a little time you can control the fire with an FRT.

Yeah when I alter gas setting I can get any select running great but out of the box, a lot of rifles won’t like things like the frt, etc.

I am not thrilled about the full auto. I do like the 3X and Binary. Tell me more about the binary and why its a gimmick?
@deltathirtyfour
Yes and no.

You could tighten that full auto group up with better stance/recoil control.
They can all be tightened up , but same results/patterns.
Is the few inches it collapses for transport or whatever really worth the instability, wobbliness and all that?

Glad you liked this one. I have some very cool animations for red dots coming up and different zero / height above bore stuff that I think would be useful for people to share to friends.
I would think automatic-sounding fire would have a greater psychological effect on those inexperienced with its effectiveness from rifelemen. Conversely the accuracy of good semi-auto fire would better suppress more experienced foes.
When you mix in accurate automatic fire from a properly employed light machine gun, it would keep even the experienced opponents guessing, especially if the reports between the automatic rifles and machine guns are similar.

@@thefrogking481 lots of problems with the graves trigger. Several have fired when the bolt is released.
With practice and proper trigger discipline there is no reason you cant get 3-4 rd burst from a full auto M16. Good video though
Very true, but I wanted to separate bursts and auto . Appreciate you watching !
Pretty good video. Good explanation of what full auto is best used for at the end, but you forgot one very important thing:
if you are going to use full auto on a rifle, one should learn to control your bursts and how to manage the inevitable recoil as best as possible.
@@burnyburnoutze2nd yeah you basically summed up my first impressions of the new spear(xm5) I tried to check it out in Houston but sig pulled out of the show (bummer) and I’m not sure if I’m digging the overall weight either. Actuall , fuq dat … will it go BRRRR really quick and be fun ? Lol. Lemme be real ! Sorry … there’s nothing wrong with something being cool looking and fun
I agree. People can enjoy whatever they want. Have fun !
@@deltathirtyfour so it runs as reasonably as expected?
I don't know...that guy you shot seemed unphased by all of it. Might just give him the Ole flame thrower.
Ha, he definitely took it like a champ.
Where is part 2?
In the future .
@@deltathirtyfour looking forward to it
The M16 A1 was crap but still a decent weapon. The M4 A1 was a masterpiece so to speak.
I also dislike the m16a1 out of the group.
M16A1 was pretty good, M16 not so much.
What about the A3?
@@killerdragon5584 Barely got used but is basically the same as the A2 other than all A3s are auto(unless converted to burst) and most A2s are burst(although some A2s do have full auto even from the factory)
The womens jeans and mask help u shoot?
They help me get comments to boost my videos! Thanks!
M4 A1 love that rifle if only an A.F.L. wasn't so difficult to get. Then again, Why the heck would anyone need more than semi-auto.
Suppressive fire in a team for the apocalypse . :) and yeah m4a1 is badass.
@@deltathirtyfour Hell yea!
Hello I am new and am trying to get a burst trigger does anyone know where I can get one for a ar-15
A burst trigger control group requires a special license. Online you should be able to find the process if your interested in owning one.
Should of Put The A4 Upper On The Full Auto A1 Lower Then You Would Of Had an M16A3 😊
I thought the a3 still had a fixed carry handle just with full a added vs burst of the a2? And yeah I never did try the a4 upper on that lower.
@@deltathirtyfour There's some M16A2s that have full auto actually, I think the A3 has other minor changes.
I thought A2 and A4 had same barrel profile.
Gov issued ones are I believe. This one I’m using had a heavier contour but it’s not clone correct.
@@deltathirtyfour I understand. Your videos are awesome btw. The visuals are extremely helpful, especially in relation to optics. There's a lot of gun-tubers these days but precious few that provide useful data and graphics rather than semi-informed opinions. Deserve more subscribers for sure.
@@Mjdeben I appreciate the kinds words! These videos take a bit to make and if you liked these, you’ll like the next ones coming. I’m getting a bit more savy! The one I’m on now is super complex to make, and I work a full time career but I almost have a few wrapped up ! Thanks gain I hope you’ll stick around!
what is the price of a select fire m16a2 in the states?
There isn't a fixed price. Pre 86 (pre-ban) versions are dictated by the consumer market which changes and is usually very expesnive due to the amount available in circulation. post 86 is a special license to own which is technically cheaper, but much more involved to have. Sorry I cant give you a set price to answer the question.
@@deltathirtyfour how about a rough estimate?
@@peacemaker-ro5qq just search it on gunbroker and you can find more accurate prices than my estimation.
@@deltathirtyfour right
@@deltathirtyfour from your expereince ,would you like full auto or 3-round burst on an assault rifle?fro m your video,i think the 3-round burst in the way to go. its a good compromise between accuracy and volume of fire
Where can I get the grips you have for your a4?
The a4 has a mft grip, but if you like that style, I think the ergo is a bit better. It has textured rubber, where this one is all hard plastic. Hope that helps.
Definitely thank you ! What optic do you have on it as well ?
@@jacobmedina5626 it’s a trijicon ta11 SDO
@@deltathirtyfour sickkkk thank you !
I will never own a full auto to expensive, I won’t waste money on binary triggers, I do however love All three of my Geissele triggers they’re fast enough for me.
geisselle makes some top notch stuff.
How did you get that terrible of a group at that close of range with the A1...? A1s barely recoil.
I’m just not strong enough I guess.
A1s recoil more than any of the three
I can fire the binary trigger faster....i can empty 30 rounds in 2.8 seconds
That’s cray fast! If you want send me a video of that with a shot timer and I’ll use it in my part 2 to this video for the skeptics. Send it to my Instagram same name as the UA-cam .
Ok ill send it cool!! Or if you want you have my permission to take clips of my videos off my youtube page! I have videos of me shooting 556 as well as a cmmg .22 conversion.
@@screamingwarhog badass! Thank you !
@@screamingwarhog do you have any side by side with full auto and a timer between the two ?
I do not but i reccomend getting the rate of fire from my the stamps and then plugging in the rate of fire of a full auto m4.
Spray and pray……. Shoot better
Haha
What kind of dork does that to their jeans?
Probably everyone who doesn’t want to be a heat casualty. In the military it’s called unblousing for heat.
Binary 3 burst
Fostec trigger is better than Franklin
Never tan the echo, but I know alot of people like it better.
@@deltathirtyfour I would highly recommend it over the Franklin. Mine has been duty level reliable. Wisconsin winters? No problem. sandy conditions? No problem.
@@thejerk4478 which model? I remember one has extra parts inside the trigger well.
@@deltathirtyfour The gen 2. Definitely has more parts but that didn't make any difference in reliability in my experience. I had to replace springs once now due to wear but considering I had approximately 8k rounds through the system at that point I consider that pretty good considering the added functionality
@@thejerk4478 appreciate you sharing . Someone out there may be torn between the two.
