Unless deino gets some kind of nerf, I cannot see Bary being viable. Maybe this is the reason why the devs are pushing it further and further back. They need to find a way how they could coexist with the deino. Deino is simply the king and the only thing that can fight it is another deino. In my honest opinion, they got to put in an apex semi-aquatic herbivore first (like the goose, make it as "untitled" as they can, strong and buffed) that will just decimate deinos, put a dent in their population or at least make sure that no deino dares to exist where it lives. Then smaller semi-aquatic carnivores could come in, like Bary and sucho, which then can coexist with the untitled goose. As for larger fish... As long as they dont aggro on you without getting attacked by you. I mean, if they do get aggro just by being in its range, then smaller semi-aquatics, like beipi, would not be able to exist. Plus nobody wants to kill fish just so they leave them alone.
There are so many ways around everything you've said tho. For example the fish could have it so they only attack bigger deinos (or other semi aquatics) just like boars chase you when you're small but then run away when you're big enough, so this can just be flipped. And perhaps some places have bigger fish and some will have smaller fish, which would also help deinos to other big semi aquatics to want to move around to "better" more suited areas for them. And also spino would take on Deinos, so there will be an apex for Deino eventually. And yes of course a Bary wouldn't take on a full sized deino, or even a sub Deino, but it would still be a threat to smaller ones and big juvis (perhaps). Also simply adding something for Deino to hunt apart from itself or when it gets lucky with others drinking. And it's the same as saying that boars can attack small dinos and have been able to for a while (apart from the one update they removed it) and people have died with their smaller dinos too thanks to boars. And it will also give some excitement to deinos, it can get boring, and I'm not saying the fish that would be able to attack should be everywhere, kinda like people that know a river in real life would have piranhas and the other wouldn't, Deino players would learn that too, hope this all made sense
@@ucjgaming Boars vs smaller dinos is different. Since water habitat is a lot more limited. Beipis and other smaller semi-aquatic dinos cannot just run away and set up shop elsewhere like smaller terrestrial dinos can. It is easy for a carno juvi to find another spot to set up camp but semi-aquatics need to stay in/near water, and dont have the option to get away from attacking fish unless they want to become terrestrials or kill them just to exist in the water. I still feel the fish should not automatically aggro. Large fish only aggroing large animals makes no logical sense either. It makes more sense that they flee larger animals and fight back against smalls. I knoiw balance-wise the reverse would be better but that would be just ridiculous to watch and experience. As for Bary... Yeah No. Still does not make it viable when the rivers are ruled by a huge apex carnivore like deino. There are lots of adults around and I cannot see too many people play the weaker semi-aquatic predator to put a dent into deino populations, especially when you need so few adult deinos to be invincible. Bary is way too weak compared to deino to really do anything, since it will not be able to fight a gator older than juvi pretty much. And spino will be more of an added problem for bary and sucho as well, since it is yet another apex semi-aquatic carnivore to hunt them and compete with them. Spino will not solve anything. You want the waters to be managed by a buffed apex herbivore instead, whose presence will demand respect from apex carnivores but will not hunt carnivores itself. However, it will run off the apex threats and allow the smaller semi-aquatic carnivores to exist alongside it. Because they are no threat to it.
@@NLance I can see what you mean and a lot of it makes perfect sense. But barys could also help limit the Deino population or at least give them something more to do then hunt fish or other small deinos. Yes it may not be a threat at all to deinos from large juvis stage (or higher) but then we may as well say don't even bother adding Bary or sucho, you get me? And this can be solved with spawn points too to limit the interactions between the two. For example, Bary could have its preferred diets where small deinos spawn, but as deinos get older and for the ones who survive will have their first changed to bigger water areas on the map where spino would be too, but along the way of the travels they would also have to go through a "sucho territory". This may seem harsh in some ways but wouldn't you agree this would add a fun way to grow Deino and also a more of an achievement status when they achieve full growth? And as many playables they would have different spawn points that would give a player kind of different chances and ideas on how to play. The example above could be where there are a lot more fish AI to catch more generally more danger, or another spawn points which would still have AI but less but would cater to those who would prefer a more relaxed growth. Let me know what you think :) As for fish attacking bigger deinos yes I can see how this wouldn't perhaps make sense as no fish would actually be large enough to want to fight a king like Deino, but I'm sure there would be some sort of AI that would be good for this, as Rex AI will be coming too so don't you think something equal to that would be good for the waters? Or is that cramming too much in one place?
So just the map to look at? No playables needed? Gotacha. Oh and btw you can just go and play spiro, you just need to go on steam / right click the isle / betas / switch from gyatway to spiro
Evrima is a beta version! they are working on it every moment they have. so yeh they will come in time! you want to play sucho or spino play original the isle! otherwise give it time.

Maybe one day. Would definitely be a smart move from the devs for it to come out on console eventually
@@ucjgaming I think by the time they add the apexes they’d bring it to console since most of the audience thinks big dinosaur=cool (which is true tbh)
@@Ghostofcalmaity Yeah, but I also don't even remember if they said they would ever bring it to consoles, I hope they do as it would bring even more players to the game
@@ucjgaming it would help sales a lot since most people who play games are on console so it would double the size of the games community
@@Ghostofcalmaity agreed
Still VERY early in Evrima development, we barely got done introducing all the core mechanics.... going forward now tho,, We will get there. GRANTED if devs dont fuck up more on small things like AI spawns n etc.
Well they have been struggling with the recent patches bless them 😅 Humans again for example crash servers when they hit someone or shoot someone. And they have got most of the core mechanics done, what else is there that is a core mechanic that they need to do?
The minmi could be a semi aquatic too
Wasn't that planned to be? I mean in the conceptual arts it appears planned as a kind of turtle/hippo/mole hybrid.
Yes but that's tiny 🥺
Another worthless aquatic dryo, like Beipi. Nobody will play it 6 months after its addition...
@@canardcyaneus6084 more like acuatic hypsi. Dryo new habilites make It kinda fun. Can cancel herra's Lives and juvies. So if minmi is as fun as dryo, good.
@@canardcyaneus6084 That's my worry with all these small playables
Let me know what you think :)
As for fish attacking bigger deinos yes I can see how this wouldn't perhaps make sense as no fish would actually be large enough to want to fight a king like Deino, but I'm sure there would be some sort of AI that would be good for this, as Rex AI will be coming too so don't you think something equal to that would be good for the waters? Or is that cramming too much in one place?
What are your pc specs?
