Hi thanks so much for posting this video, very helpful, I am a 22 year old woman with an Autistic brother of 19, we often have a hard time getting him to do things (without him feeling as if we're being bossy) or getting him to do really anything but look at his phone (watching youtube videos) also another thing is he gets very angry and does not listen when told what to do, I was wondering if maybe you had any other motivational resources to help with motivating a child with special needs, he is still in that teenager stage where he feels any sort of authority is basically a big NO-NO in his daily life. I tried to get him to do some daily chores, he had a meltdown didn't speak to me all day, then ended up staying up all night and lying that he did sleep when in fact I know he did not, then when asked why he didn't 'it's the weekend' this child does not understand what it means to just sleep at normal hours. Any time is fine for him. Not sure what else to do seeing as my mother only encourages that he does not listen to reason but says "don't you'll make him throw a fit" so what if he throws a fit, someone must teach him, since she wont! He ended up justifying that the things I asked him to do were in fact already done ( an excuse to get out of chores ) and when told they were actually not done he gets very irate.
