Of all the outstanding music RadioHead has presented us all these years, this is probably one of the most beautifull love songs (or ballad) ever created.
This song made me feel again during depression. I always looked as myself as a creep too, so when I heard this song, I finally fpund a song that really described my emotions. I felt less lonely, understood, and accepted my flaws. When you don't feel and stuck in a void, you need sadness to bring u back to acceptance. And this song was my sadness, and ironically my happiness as I recovered from depression. Until tdy, I can never sing this song without crying. It's very special to me.
We all feel like creeps sometimes, friend. Don't let the devil beat the angel, at shoulder advice. We bring much of it on ourselves. If all these jerks get to be happy, with all their flaws, so can we. But the emotion of this performance is amazing. I think the cold weather working against him, actually made him more vulnerable, and he had to work through it, and wow...what a pro performance.
It's a true story. At collage he used to follow this one girl who thought was perfection. He'd hide behind corners looking at her and stuff like that. Then there was a party. He decided he was going to at least talk to her. So he decided he'd have a few drinks so he'd be brave enough. Unfortunately he drank way too much and when he finally did go and try to talk to her she was obviously freaked out and left the party. We can all relate
The name Radiohead (absolutely, great name) is taken from a not so well known Talking Heads song. Alongside the Pixies and and REM, they loved Talking Heads.
This is just exactly what the song is about. And there are a frickin lot of people that can relate to that. In school i was the creep and weirdo. Only after school with 19 i turned 180° and became some kind of party animal and, well womanizer i guess. But still with all my insecurities i had from school time.
Even people who were popular felt/feel like they’re a creep and weirdo. I’ve never met anyone who didn’t have a hint of imposter syndrome if things were “going good”. I guess what I’m saying is these feelings aren’t just for people who are classically disaffected youth; your boy in a letterman jacket could feel just like this.
I’ve heard it said that singer Thom Yorke had self esteem issues due to his eyes. Maybe people made fun of him. This song may be about him and those issues. I really don’t know.
It’s about a girl whom he had a crush on when in college however she didn’t reciprocate those feelings and when he tried to approach her she hastily made her way out of the of where they were hense the “she’s running out again”
This song reminds me of how it's still relevant today. Look at how these female tik tock gym girls try so hard to make victims of themselves and make any guy standing around look like a creep. So far from good.
