Just got a 91 xr. Lucky for me it was already rebuilt but I did have to change a bunch of parts and do a carb rebuild. But glad to see you have a great vid in case I ever have to do a total rebuild!
Those ultrasonic cleaners are great but they won't remove stubborn varnish from the high and low jet orifices completely. Still have to carefully rod them out with micro drills or fine wire along with carb cleaner.
Great series of videos very informative enjoyed them, not a bike that we ever had over here the 200 but must admit I do like them. Best wishes from the UK.
I think i made the mistake of setting my valves at F(when notches on cdi line up) and not at TDC. Would that be the cause of alot of topend noise? I have a video of it on my channel.
I watched the video, I don’t think having it timed wrong would cause that noise. Usually when the timing is messed up it is hard to start and it won’t idle well. The noise on your bike sounds like the cam chain is very loose. It seems to go away when you rev it because the chain is tightening under load. I would drain the oil and check for aluminum because it sounds like it’s rubbing the cases. Did you put a new timing chain and tensioner on? I would take the flywheel off and check the chain tightness, should be a little play but not much at all.
@MarleyJax Garage I figured it out. Thanks man. I do have another question though. Which way do the pipe collars go against the washer on your header pipe. You didn't show it in your video. You just showed greasing the gasket
Good work! Its great when it fires up for the first time after some work.

Thanks man I appreciate it. Hopefully yours last a long time. Every now and then I would clean out that oil filter rotor to make sure it clean.

Great video series for the XR bud! Just took my engine out of my 88 XR200 and am in the process of rebuilding now.....just waiting for parts.
Thanks man I appreciate it. Hope it helps and you get your running again.
I really need to get an ultra sonic cleaner! Keep it up!
They are the best, if you work on carburetors it is worth the investment. Just make sure it has heat.

Hey nice job 👍 👏 👌 🙂 I have a xr200 that I need some help to rebuild it
Thank you, hope you get your back together. Let me know if you have any questions.
Good job ,how much did it sell for
The timing on the cam gear needs to be 1 tooth advanced, then it will run well
Never heard of that. Maybe I will try it if I ever get another one.

@@MarleyJaxGarage Thanks for your reply. I recently put a new chain and tensioner on, maybe the new chain has stretched and needs tightening again.
🎃👽👍
Let us know what you do with the crap stock suspension..
I sold this bike but I just bought a DR650 that will be on the channel soon. Thanks for watching.
The air cleaner goes in from the back
Hey man. Just curious. What do those 3 wires go too/control. My 01 200r only has one wire
Which 3 wires? Some of the wire could go to a neutral light or headlight/brake light.
