Mundines debut fight and this one here Soliman 2 were my favourites. Soliman was undefeated, had even taken on the great Wiinky Wright in previous bouts, and here Mundine hands him his first loss. Then years later, Soliman was caught for steroid use against his last opponent in 2012.
Shouldn't of even been 3 matches. A guy I used to train and spar with called Kartu Arang, who was pretty close with a lot of the guys at Mundines gym, told me he only gave Soliman another go because he asked for it and really wanted it
Great effort by Sam Soliman considering he's fighting way above his natural middleweight class(71-72.5kg). Mundine clearly bigger bodied, framed, much stronger, natural super middleweight.
Again, we have announcers that are trying to get a date! This time with Anthony Mundine. They're in love and no one can stand with their man Mundine. Soliman, although he might be behind slightly, is standing in with Mundine and giving a hell of a fight. It's not as one-sided as the announcers proclaim, but, they're in love.
Soliman was just not a super middleweight - understandably the money from fighting Choc was too good to refuse but this is proved by the fact he fought the rest of his career, deep into his 40's, at middleweight a lot of people think Soliman won their first fight. But Mundine also has a lot of haters - he had a mouth without even a hint of wit or humour, just an objectionable sort of guy - which is apparently the opposite of his true personality. He's a salesman. He had that whole "tune in to watch me lose" schtick that Ali, Maywether etc had - in fact he blatantly ripped off the Ali in a few ways But it worked he is a rich man. He made more money from boxing than most world class and world champion fighters - he was so big in Australia he was paid $500k for his debut and most of his fights up until about after the Garth Woods fights, he was receiving a minimum $1million per fight from Main Event - the Green fight being a massive pay day of something like 6.5mil. Mundine was talent. A huge talent really. Turning pro at 25 with something like 4 amateur fights as a kid. He's a freak accomplishing what he did. Played state of origin and twice won a "regular" WBA168 pound title
@jasonvoorhees5640 well that's just boxing mate. As far as I can tell he's not showing signs right now. But It comes down to the individual fighter as to brain damage. Jake Lamotta considered to have the greatest chin in the history of the sport took shots like he was trying to prove it! He was still making public appearances in his 80s without any sign of pugilistic dementia!!!
Anthony was too mechanical; there was ample opportunity to move against Soliman simultaneously with a punishing right hook or even straight, just as Soliman would characteristically burst in with several punches.
Anthony you had to beat otke, green, beyer, kessler, calzaghe &jones! And stay undefeated for 10years! Then you would have been recognized as australias greatest ever boxer
I've stopped here at :49 seconds left in round 8 just embarrassed for the announcers who, after the knock down of Solimon, and after Solimon received 2 good right hands from Mundine, but is clearly firing back with combinations, and who is clearly coming back immediately, are looking for the stoppage. How amateur these announcers. Solimon got hit so - call the fight? Stupid!
i dont know what fight you watching but soliman is geting destroyed yes he tough and most of those combos are hiting the gloves u can tell because mundine just keeps walking him down
Your the man Mundine
Thanks for uploading.

Sam will be haunted for the rest of his life 3-0 choc Mundine .

Should have stayed up in the weights
And then I have to eat my words as Solimon is TKO'd!!! The love affair continues...
Now after the 6th round the announcers have to admit that "maybe" Solimon won the 6th. "Maybe", but Solimon actually won that round handily.
In what world did Solimon even come close to winning the 6th round?
no idea what you're talking about mate

Solimans style awkward asf. Mundine didnt look as sharp in this fight, looked like he just wanted to go for the ko.
