    Choc has so many sporting achievements but his real legacy in my opinion is what he has done with his success for others. He has literally saved peoples lives, given a lot of his earnings from sport away to others and been a great role model for those who know the man off camera.

    I'm glad he has found peace within himself, but Choc converted to "non-white" Islam because he wanted to go against the "white" Christianity of Australia. Similar to Malcom X and Muhammad Ali in the US. People join what they think is the "opposite" religion as a middle finger. Both Christianity and Islam spread through violence, the reason why they're the two biggest religions. Religion isn't bad, it's just unnecessary. Choc seems like he has the brains to see through religion these days, so I'm surprised he is still very focussed on the Arab religion and does not acknowledge his Aboriginal beliefs more.

    • @maysahd9817
      @maysahd9817 19 днів тому

      It’s not an Arab religion. Some of the first Muslims to ever accept Islam were actually Black. The first man to ever recite the athan (call to prayer) was black. Not Arab.

    • @stevie1979
      @stevie1979 19 днів тому +1

      @@maysahd9817 It is an Arab religion, based on the language, clothing, customs and material culture, just like Christianity was a Judean religion (now more influenced by the Europeans), other than maybe the Orthodox religions. Basically, any non-Arab Muslims is a convert. The first Africans converted to Islam were living in Arabia, and they were most likely slaves, as was a more common practice back then, and exists today, but not to the extent as it did back then. There would be no evidence that the first person to ever recite the athan was African though. Although I'm not religious, Christianity and Islam both have fascinating geopolitics.

    The reason why there isnt statues etc is the way he carries himself, terrible for PR, swearing all over the place, saying he's hard done by, was a champion footy player and boxer, but you have to play to the corporate market.

      which makes his achievements even more remarkable the fact he didn't bow down and did it on his own terms. I get that he had to do deals here and there with sponsors,big brands,pay per view etc but strictly on his terms. I mean,the type of player he was and to have someone like matty johns picked over him was the last straw(at the time was completely shocking)and he went on to achieve unbelievable things.

    Mr Andrews was spotted at JFK Airport on Wednesday evening, local time, reigniting speculation that he covets the New York-based roles of either Australia’s consul-general in New York or Commissioner for Global Victoria. Mr Andrews’ daughter, Grace, is also understood to be studying in the US.

    Two government sources confirmed Mr Andrews had begun discussions over his next career move and confirmed his name had been put forward to fill a government-appointed vacancy on the Monash University Council, left vacant by the passing of former Labor leader Simon Crean, a former deputy chancellor. Former premier John Brumby also went into a higher education role becoming chancellor of La Trobe University.
