When you hit 9:30 a tear went down my eye, the emotion in it bro. Thought of an ex who I first met a few years back. "Hello fellow Tool lover" is how she introduced herself. Long story short after 2 years we want our separate ways but a few months later turns out she was pregnant and completely cut me out of their lives. He's almost two now and I've seen a picture of him. He's mine. But yeah man when you reached that part it all came back. It's getting better though. I'm going to have to take her to court to see him but anyways you shared that with me so I thought I'd share that with you.
Joshua Flores Never thought of that specific part like that, really cool observation. Sorry about what happened to you, I hope your life gets better man, cling to Christ and live.
Wow first off "hello fellow tool lover" and I would be totally helpless as I suspect you might've been... Far as your boy good luck friend I'm a little familiar. But remember if you can't be in his life as much as you'd like to be please keep in mind that his life is about him and you should be the best dad you can be as limited as it has to be. I know it sucks and I truly hope you get forward with him so you and he (especially he) can have a good father son relationship. Chin up and do the right thing. Don't let the ways in which you're limited be a negative burden on what you can or rather will be able to be for him in the future. Maybe you guys can enjoy some Tool together. God bless brother and good luck to you
Damn dude. I never look at comments and scrolled down randomly and read this and couldn't hold back the tears. Everything is going be OK. Yeshua will restore everything. If you go to him. Your loved bro.
I’m very impressed. My homie asked me what I was listening to. I told him it was a TOOL piano cover. He said this video “sounded better than TOOL”. He’s not a fan of TOOL. But please keep doing what you’re doing.
Has anyone seen my jaw i lost it somewhere on the floor. Amazing so much feeling totally captures the vibe of the original. If people was in doubt of fears status as a masterpiece i will send them towards this video. Simply outstanding.. You do realise though the tool army will want the rest just saying =)
Miss G Glad you like it! I can send you the song, just leave your e-mail on a comment here and you’ll be one step closer to getting this song as a ringtone! 👍
I wasnt aware I needed this, but damn, you hit this out of the park, well done. Too bad you dont have sheets tabbed out, I bet many piano players would love to replicate your rendition of an amazing song that melodic riff (9smt mins), even in Piano, is just chills inducing
@@etherience5282 you are very welcome. Worthy of a rare honorary rendition spot on my short list of tool covers and renditions... I would like to say tho (although I doubt you need me to) I agree about your equipment/sound. Sorry there's nothing I can offer to help really but you know what you're working with. Maybe some fine tuning with eq and effects or perhaps other equipment too... But I'll let you handle that lol. .. Again great job. Sincerely thank you
You rhythm is godly my friend. I have a hard enough time staying on time to this playing either the bass or guitar! You an amazing musician. You actually inspired me to get playing my keyboard. I'm going to try to learn a song called "my life" by John Frusciante. Are you aware of that song at all? If so, would it be a good song for a beginner pianist to learn?
Jeff Vogt I’m not sure. I recorded this song in parts, but I did play it all, although I made sure everything was perfectly on time through quantizing. If I ever made a video where I played along to everything I’d have to relearn the whole song again, but perhaps it would be fun. I’m by no means a pianist, I just know notes and have a good ear honestly. But I’m happy to hear you are learning piano, and thank you so much for your kind words 🙂
Damn... This a great cover, congratulations! But... I'm just craving for Maynards voice... His lyrics are graved somewhere in the songs... I realise that now, you just can't listen a Tool cover without hearing his voice somewhere deep down in a corner of your brain.
well done...if you need anyone to write some vocal melodies, sing on your tracks, let me know...be glad to to if have some originals in need of vocals/lyrics
Interesting and enjoyable interpretation Daniel - thank you. Curiously, throughout the piece, I found myself being reminded of the great classical and jazz pianist Keith Jarrett. Has he influenced your interpretation of the Tool song or, possibly, did he influence Tool when they composed it? Perhaps neither - perhaps it's just my imagination! ;-)
@@danielamaral8896 Thanks for the reply. 'The Koln Concert' from 1975 is, I think, his best known work. A live concert, much of improvised I believe. Here's a flavour: www.dailymotion.com/video/x80ek9
@@timwilcox960 Thanks! Now that I think about it, I remember Keith Jarret's name! Steely Dan wrote a song called "Gaucho" that supposedly stole melody ideas from Jarret's song "Long As I Know You're Living Yours". He sued them and won, though I still love Steely Dan and that song, lol.
I can’t send you sheets since I don’t have any of the notation tabbed out for this sadly. However, if you want the song, I can e-mail that to you instead
Listen... these piano versions are fuxing lame. The music could be translated beautifully onto a piano. But, the least you could do is actually play it on a piano and not this pre-programmed crap. Super lame.
Sorry you feel that way, unfortunately I don't have a great sounding grand piano lying around the house so this is what I chose to do instead. It is what it is.

Also, this cover made me realise that there is a dark ish part, some black and shadowing feelings deep inside this song, thanks for that.
This is sick
Thanks!
Simply amazing, I sing to this version all the time. Incredible job man. Nailed every section!
Thanks, glad to hear it!

Just subbed! You should record yourself playing it! It is too impressive of an 11 minute piece to not showcase your hands!
Maziar Zarea I’m thinking about doing something similar 🤔
Awesome work

Quebec Sucks Sounds good! What have you done if you don’t mind me asking?
This is amazing. I do agree however if you could do it with better midi sounds, it would make it epic.

I know you did this by ear but if you ever decided to put together sheet music or maybe a midi, that would interest me greatly!
Shepherd, lost I made a video with the notation, check it out!
Any chance of a transcript? This is exactly the kind of thing that could get me back on the keys
Yes, check the description of this video. The link should be there, though it is in the form of a video. Hope it helps!
