For the record, Dana didn't start speaking out until Jim and others made it safe. I followed him during the craziest time, and he was like the other go along with authority...NOW! he is speaking out. So, I hope he has learned his lesson and doesn't support tyranny next time. I am glad that he NOW is supporting to ask QUESTIONS! I would like to think Norm would have pushed back from the get go.

Norm did not go along and wouldn’t have. That is one thing you can count on in this world.
Just think of how he “apologized” for his jokes…by turning it into a darker joke. He’d rather sit in a room making jokes to one person than give in.
This push from the Left which says you can't make fun of or questions the authority which currently is them is really likened unto the Old Soviet Union. You can find jokes Ronald Reagan used to tell about the Soviet government. These were jokes written by the Russian people. But they wouldn't tell them to the government officials because the officials didn't have a sense of humor.

Dana Carvey does some of the best impressions ever. His George Bush impression is an absolute classic!
it's one of the funniest things i've ever seen/heard. Just because it is over the top and hilarious. Same with his Ross Perot impression.

My absolute favorite Dana Carvey character that made me crack up every time, was "Enid" as "the Church Lady."
From the "could it beeee....SATAN?!", line, to the galloping horse dance move to the Kings men song "Louie, Louie", played from the church organ, almost every time at the end of her show, and of course, seeing Dana do a drum solo while still being Enid, is completely hilarious. To me it was creatively brilliant, because he got the stereotype of her so perfectly, and he took something that may not necessarily be funny to people, and made it irresistibly humorous. Who could ever forget the oh-so unapologetically frank and awkwardly forward questions she would impose on her guests on "church chat?" I don't think there was a single episode that I hadn't laughed at. I could see them more than once and still laugh.
Just like Jim said, certain things are forever funny, well past the time they were 1st created.😂👍😎

i remember seeing Dana at the Melody Tent on the Cape and the way he describes feeling about seeing Jim perform is how I felt seeing Dana perform. He is so damn funny and I just remember the feeling of laughing continually through his set. And Jim does the same thing to me. Non-stop.

There is a surf wave on the Ocoee River in Tennessee, and it is called "chopping broccoli" named after the great Dana Carvey skit, where he plays a pompous musician who thinks he can make anything sound good. Chopping broccoli is the best spot on the river to practice front flips (or loops) in the kayak.

I had this in the background while playing Civ6. When I heard them talk about Norm I wanted to go to the comments and write "I love hearing comics talk about Norm" and as I scrolled down this was the first comment I saw. I wasn't surprised because I am also a PROFESSOR OF LOGIC.

I appreciated this episode. Two great comedians having a good convo together regardless of any external views. This is what needs to happen in the big picture of things to bring people together.
