I really find it funny how people think Jack lived till like 90+ years old as a book writer or he gets in the army when in reality dude would have the darkest recorded suicide you would ever see
Seriously. The most like scenarios for jack is being hanged for killing ross, dying in a gunfight, or kicking the bucket himself. Either way there's no way he made it past 23 lol
I don't agree that's necessarily true. He still has a lot of avenues to live peacefully and pursue his passions. There were no witnesses, evidence left at the scene, and no one knows his name. If he quickly moved east afterwards, he would've disappeared without a trace. The only potentially grim reality ahead of him is WWI 3 years later where he could still somehow avoid the draft or survive the war and return to pursue writing.
@@themadtitan7603there legit were three witnesses, the federal bureau agent that jack asked for Ross's location, Ross's wife, Ross's brother, he just came up to them with his face revealed asked them about Ross's location, murder him right there and then, now if these three cannot put two and two together and realize it's Jack's deed idk who will, Jack didn't try to cover up his tracks for a reason, he no longer had the will to live
@@Mr.Capitalism I meant on the scene. Sure, there's the federal agent, Ross' wife, & brother, but they've got no name or identification. If Jack quickly escaped to e.g; the other side of the country, it's likely that no one catches him. Before passports or DNA evidence, Jack's effectively a ghost. And we don't know that he didn't cover his tracks because he lost the will to live, the epilogue is so short it barely reveals anything about Jack's mindset or what he's been up to. Him walking up to each person & asking them to their face is more likely the result of the mission being quickly slapped together.
I recommend probably lowering the opacity for nighttime scenes when using that vintage filter if you can 2:30 is fine since its day, not super dark while 2:37 the next scene is night, it’s extremely dark and just hard to make put faces if theres any shadow Other than that pretty good video
I kind of doubt that Jack became an outlaw just by killing Ross. Ross died by his own standard that everybody must eventually pay for what they have done, Ross threatened to kill Jack and then they had a fair duel. Even if the government wanted to misinterpret Ross's death they probably couldn't because as far as anyone knows Ross was killed by banditos. You can hear this after killing him from a campfire conversation in Mexico. As far as I can tell Jack's future is completely open ended, I think that he would have either become an outlaw if he had low honor, or perhaps ended up getting drafted into world war 1 if he had higher honor, he could have also become a bounty hunter or later wrote an autobiography. If Rockstar ever wanted to make a mafia game set in the prohibition era it would be interesting if Jack made an appearance that gave more insight on what became of him.
Most of the struggles Jack faces mirrors Ellie where they lose everything in the end. They also go through all means of revenge for taking their fathers away from them. Seeing their stories play out, i hope some semblance of peace and happiness comes in their lives.
I think Jack has a clearer avenue for a peaceful and happy life in his future given his revenge was quick & didn't cost him much and he still has his passion. He can easily slip away east as no one knows his name and he didn't leave evidence & pursue writing.

Also side note: But Jack's hatred law actually mirrors John's even it possibly exceeds it where the latter is also shown in RDR1 to hold distrust & disdain for lawmen and authority and makes similar comments to Jack's about hiding behind a badge in shootouts even after he's been reformed. So I don't think it's quite true that his hatred for the law is unlike John, maybe Arthur.
I wouldn’t mind exploring young adult Jack’s story on the run for killing Edger. Either in rdr3 or a game called “Red dead revelations”. Just pick up the story in 1914 a few weeks after he killed Edger and go from there.
Jack's fate was open-ended in RDR1. I don't think they were showing that he absolutely doomed himself to the life John didn't want for himself. It's one possible path, but Jack is also unknown & left no traces of himself, and also had lost any interest in the gunslinger life as a teenager & wished to pursue writing. For all we know, he sold the ranch after touching it up, slipped east and became a successful writer. The only reason he picked up a gun was to fill the hole in his heart via revenge, as far as we see.
