The fact that Greninja and Kingdra special art promos from the bundles are the most sought after cards from this set, should tell you how lame the SIRs are. 😂😂😂

Ya... Pokémon is in a precarious situation. You have all the old timers who like the older mons but they have to also keep things relevant with what's happening in the world of Pokémon in real time, which is why sets like this exist.
For me, even tho I never played the games or expansions, I can still appreciate the art of these new sets. I may not go crazy with this set but I know I'll give it a shot just because I always rip the new stuff. I definitely ain't skipping those collection boxes. Those promos are DOPE!!!

I have a running theory that the Pokemon company looks at it from the opposite perspective and caters to the various ages of the collectors and players with a variety of arts.
They have not catered to the "old timers" since 151. Hoping the last 3rd of SV are bangers and contain some fan favorite SIRs
@@IneptCardCollectorThey always have to tie things to the current games, tho. The card game wouldn't exist if the video games weren't a thing. Always been this way. We're just creeping up on 30 years of its existence and things get a bit difficult to traverse at that point, in terms of keeping everyone happy.
I wouldn't mind them focusing on new pokemon if the arts looked cool. Was very dissapointed with ograpon and especially these new arts, but the SIRs from early SV like chi-yu and meowscarada look really good.
@@cbasazI can see that. I still appreciate the SIRs in Twilight but I'll admit I'm not chasing the Ogerpons as hard as I would the one's you mentioned. Ya, I gotta say that the earlier S&V sets had a lot of great SIRs.

I've been looking into collecting Duskull cards, so the Duskull lineup in Shrouded Fable is something I definitely want in my collection. But idk about the other stuff so far lol

I just picked up 2 cases of the Greninja/Kingdra boxes specifically for those promos. I'm hoping to get them cracked open and resell the booster packs for maybe a 75% return on my money for those boxes. I don't think I want to rip packs for this set... like you said, I only want those promos! They will definitely be sought after. I'm HAPPY to preorder months in advance for that product.
It’s weird to me that Horsea AR Seadra common and Kingdra ex full art are in night wanderer but the Kingra SAR promo from English isn’t in it Japanese usually have a theme and stick to it
My only thought is that in the US they pulled it out to sell boxes. It's surprising to me they designed these cards but didn't include them in the Japanese set at all.
That Beware and the Okidori are crazy! Def need those.

I usually try to master special sets but this one will really depend on pull rates and the value of the cards. However, I already preordered those cool promo sets!

I have yet to Play S&V, but I genuinely love the new pokemon, and the paradox forms are amazing, I will definitely be buying a lot of this set!
It's not the best but it's not nearly the worst. I plan on ripping a bunch. Opening packs is always fun and my kids will open any packs and have just as much fun. Put up them preorders. You rank among the best prices on the internet.
I wasn’t impressed with it at first but from what’s been leaking I decided to pre order some. I don’t think it’s the BEST and I don’t think it’s the WORST. There’s definitely some nice cards in the set.
What are your top chases in the set? I think the SIR's will look cool in person, and if people aren't into them, then they'll be cheap.. unless the pull rates are insane.
I think this set would be good not for everyone but artworks don't disappoint 😁.
But if the cards from stellar miracle are in this set it could be a game changer. I think stellar miracle could be like the change battlestyles with alt arts had on the sword and shield era
That's kinda the strange thing, they won't be. This set will only have Night Wanderer cards. Stellar Miracle cards will be in Stellar Crown.
Maybe i should get some from the pokemoncenter or rakutan to open. Trying to keep purchaces to the 151 packs though, ordering one each week to my tenso adress 😂 I've had a lot of luck with the amount of pulls.
pokemon center I trust, rakutan I would be worried about. You can get boxes from safe places for around $60 in US, like calipokehouse on tikto, who is also doing rip till you hit if you're into that. It's not as cheap as the packs on pokemon center, but way safer then open market web sites.
For me theres not too much to get excited about. That Houndoom is definitely cool along with a few others though.

I ordered 2 etb poke center, and the other little things for sage keeping but definitely not for ripping just safe keeping. It probally will fail. I'll buy more and they disappear and ill be fine 5 years done the road with chasers over paying for display and or gold cards. BTW poke collect has a nice $200 bundle for these

Im not sure if your forced to buy product and how much but i would go small on ETB (maybe if PKC if you could resell those) and then the promo boxes.
You seem to nail it right on the head. Not quite sure what Pokemon is doing with this set... The promos are amazing though. The persians imo should be the highest IR, and houndoom second.

Shrouded fable is more for the meta. I am not sure what I think about this set aside from building a okedogi deck and get the greninja and the kingdra promos.

as much as i want to collect them all, i really dont know any of those legendary pokemon. i never got the expansion. i agree that the best looking cards are the two promos lol. the best SARs in my opinion are persian and penny. but i'm leaning towards skipping this set all together and just putting money into getting the singles i'm missing from the other previous SV sets. might wait for the special pikachu set if thats a thing. at least i know pikachu lol
I think a lot of collectors will struggle with that, not really knowing any of these pokemon. The cards look good from what I've seen, but I'm not sure there's much excitement around them. The Persian and Penny are definitely chases for me too.

The artwork looks like AR's and almost like FA. They do have some nice texture though. We'll see how people feel once they start getting into people's hands for the English set.
The okidori sar should be the ar and the sar should be the ar
If you're an Okidogi fan, I think you'll like the SAR when you see it in person. The images don't do it justice.
They are intentionally releasing a small set of new generation pokemon only to test if they can hold a set on their own. They don't care if it is a flop and I agree it will be a massive flop

I guess pokemon just cant win lol. Champions path had a bunch of older pokemon, and charizard ofc, yet it was one of the worst special sets, then they come out with this set with mostly newer pokemon and ppl are hating on it before it even gets here
It's a good set, full of newer pokemon. Can't just have 151 over and over, but I don't see this being a hugely popular set with a wide audience.
This set is pretty weak for collectors overall for sure. Some really nice artworks in the illustration rares - Houndoom and Persian and Horsea all solid but other than that nothing really for me. The Secret Illustration Rares are not good in my opinion. The promo cards are my favourite cards in the whole set too. Crazy.

I Feel like the Pokémon company is not giving the artists full artistic freedom anymore and these SARS are what we’re left with. They all are the same boring, up-close art style and because of that, they aren’t very unique. And then we get the best (by FAR) cards in the set that come as promos haha. I would chase those promos but not much else.
i think they make too many wack pokemon in new generations, theres plenty of cool animals they could use and would attract buyers, they been making alot of new trash pokemon imo
Wait this is a special set? I was assuming the Dragon set was going to be the special set. This is going to be absolute trash just like Osidian Flames and how terribly easy that was. Mark my words this will go down as the worst set of Scarlet and Violet

What I hate are the small sets like Obsidian Flames I love sets that have a chase to them so them making the SIRs harder in these past two sets is exactly what I wanted or with Paldea Evolved and the amount of cards making it hard to pull a specific card. This is Champions Path all over again
The Dragon Set and Pikachu set will be combined into SV8 if I'm not mistaken. This set is standalone, like Pokemon Go.
I'm also bullish on SV, but I'm worried about this set doing well. We'll see.

@PokemonFamClub the art work from the 4 SARs are so cool. They all have the same menacing look. And some of the AR's like hound and beware. I'm a fan of this "halloweenish" set. I get mad when I see so many poketoobers proclaim a set is "trash or garbage" didn't yall learn lesson from twilight maskaraude?
I don't think it's trash. I don't think it's going to be a hit with a lot of people though. I love the artwork too. I was contemplating buying the Japanese Okidogi today, but I am waiting cause I think it will drop even more.
