What a professional and classy locomotive review. Athearn should be impressed with how detailed your review is of this locomotive. I recently purchased this exact model. This is by far the best video I have seen for a model review. I really appreciate how you used a photo to describe it. Great job sir. Dave
Great review, E Hall! Saw one of these NS SD70ACes last night during my yard shift at Thayer, Missouri last night! NS 1063 was the trailing unit on a southbound BNSF Q train. Looks like Athearn did a great job on these!
Wonderful video. I noticed that after taking off the locomotive shell, the board that was attached was green, but when you added the speakers, the board was now blue. Since this is a dcc ready model, what kind of board did you add to make it DCC? Thanks.
Interesting video. Mr. Hall way haven't NS converted the SD70M's to AC? Several of the M-2 are. Also Since the SD70ACE T-4 is only on UP and Progressive maybe some model manufacturer will make a Hypothetical one. I wonder it the bugs have been worked out on that locomotive.

I picked up 1122 from Yankee dabbler yesterday . Which version of the horn is correct? Did you tweak any other cv’s I appreciate any help you can give me
You know you are famous on UA-cam when the railroad lets you film while you are working.

A 21 pin board of any manufacturer you like. I prefer using a ESU decoder because I have the programmer

Athearn sucks, the cabs and inverter cabinet are still bent on this run.
