It’s a hobby that is great for improving mental health loving it Garry 👍👍👍👍👍
End of the day it’s your railway to run the locos in whatever condition you choose weathered or pristine
Hey Garry - you said you were pleased with your work/layout. Pleased? You should be bloody proud!! Been following you for ages and I must admit when I first saw your new layout I was confused - but WOW - how good does it look now! Pleased to hear you are over the head cold. Best wishes all the way from Oz. Looking forward to the next update. Darryl

Get well soon. A great video update and shows that you've been really busy cracking on. Its looking great mate.
Looking fabulous. Awesome
Nice one, Garry. Great update 👍
Hi fella, sack that driver of the dmu for crashing into the buffer stop.. Oh my back..!! Excellent comments about the cost of loco's and weathering etc, weathering done Really well is a fantastic effect, but takes a lot of skill and time to do well, with 70+ loco's that a lot of time too...! It's nice to see a weathered loco on a layout but but also nice to see an ex-works loco too, that's not out of place in the real world, it's how it should be.. Absolutely love the three road depot building you made, cracking piece of modelling, along with the rest of the layout, and effects..!
I take my hat off to you sir..!
Hi Garry, Great video & interesting to see how you have created some of the effects. Thank you.
I love watching your videos! ❤
Always fantastic mate
nice one gary your videos are always a pleasure 👌👌👌
great vlog on channel nice update on channel thanks lee
Nice feature with the flashing spark. However, you might want to look for a more bluish white (cold white) as it looks a bit too warm in the current color
Gary, Have you thought about putting the magnets for the "contact flash" in AWS ramps between the rails? As they will be closer to the reed switch, you can use much smaller magnets. Also, then the reed swich can be hidden under (or even inside) the loco/carriage.
If the armature on your SEEP point motors comes out of the coil at one end, you could use a microswitch to switch your LEDs. Even if the armature doesn't come out far enough to push the microswitch, you can drill a small hole in the end of the armature and screw a thin screw into it to push on the microswitch.
The other thing I thought of is that the grass area needs some graffitti on the wall behind it and, perhaps, some rubbish dumped on it.
Hi Garry, the layout is looking really good especially the underground station is a feature I never seen before. I have a question how and what do you use for your road surfaces?
Andy
Excellent progress Garry. I`ve bought the same mp3 modules, I went the route of the wifi unit and the engine driver app to use old phones as extra controllers, I have bit the bullet and got a Esu programmer to load sounds myself. Hope to to you at Gets again.
Hi Gary, I love a bit of automation, are you going to GETs this year?
Hi Garry!
Great update. Lots to take in.
The underground scene. Brilliant! All it needs is that underground tunnel aroma!
The large brick building does look like a substation, so maybe lose the oil / fuel tanks and replace them with a few large oil-cooled 11kv to 650v transformers - not sure if anyone does a model of them, so it might be a scratch-build job. I’m sure of you have look on the web for images of UK railway substation transformers, you’ll find something to use as a basis.
Can I ask why you have a flashing light when the train goes over an AWS ramp? Given that you strive to get thing’s to look right, this just jumps out as just the opposite. AWS magnets (be they electro or permanent) only give a cab indication (bell or horn) to the driver - and thats it. There is nothing else visible externally (apart from the signal aspect, obvs.)
Love the station announcements - could you record your own and use that as the sound file? Something to look into, perhaps.
Sorry to hear you are struggling with a cold - I think I have the same version. Had it for ten days now. Hope it doesn’t last as long as yours!
👍🏻
Hi Garry love your mp3 sounds that is amazing what did you use to get that effect when your trains go over the aws ramps l have never seen that before would love to try that myself glad to see you on the channel take care hope you feeling better soon Kev Beighton Parkway Sheffield
