(for those watching this video for your first time) If you're looking for Elex tips for a beginner, this video is still the best one out there. I come back here every time I decide to hop back in the game. Just an awesome video ! ~Mu
I’m late, but I found a pair of sunglasses on top of a windmill, I forgot where it was, but now I have the ability to see items through walls, that’s honestly a must have even if you wear other armor, just pop them on and take everything real quick then switch back.
Auto combat is a MASSIVE pain. When the cultivators were being attacked by mutants I swung my mighty axe...into the face of one of the cultivators. Oops
I'm 60 hours in it and played with auto focus, I didn't even know that you can change that! I could've survived more than one fight with that, *specially* *the* *ones* *with* *multiple* *enemies* , my god.
Outlaw is actually the worst faction from a min-max perspective as other factions can also craft their double damage drug, and most if not all others too. Meaning Outlaws don't actually have anything unique to them. The +50 melee/range alone from the Berserkers/Clerics is too strong a buff, especially when combined with the double damage drug on top of it. If you wish to min-max further go Cleric range route and Synthetic than get the skill that boosts your range damage even further when your cold level is synthetic. So to sum it up for the highest damage scaling go synthetic Cleric with the +50 range spell and synthetic skill point and have some double damage stims for when you need them. Berserker melee builds are almost as good, the other cold skill points aren't as good as synthetic. However melee lets you reach higher damage output thanks to additional skills and combos so if you're good at using those Berserker melee build can potentially output the most damage in the game, but it's way more situational than range and significantly harder to pull of consistently.
Yeah overall the clerics are kinda op. Not to mention their last stand ability that makes you basically invincible. What i kinda miss with the berserks is a good mace as a weapon. That 1-H weapon type has the best damage of all melee weapons due to its very good special attack which is a triple armor ignoring strike. dont the clerics also got a skill that gives another boost when you are without a companion? I like that since most big fights you are not directly linked to one. Like all of nastys quests, ulbrichts offense, big bang, hybrid, the last war...
Light attacks do next to no damage, they don't stagger properly and they realign some enemies to face and attack you. Only use regular attacks to chain for faster heavy attacks and to get that special attack, heavy and special attacks are the ones that actually kill your enemies.
combo attacks get a bonus after each hit if timed properly. The combo builtup is much faster with light attacks than with heavy ones and you also reach the option to reach the special faster. On ultra i barely or almost never use heavy attacks.
seems you got cold ending. probably chugged to many Elex potions. Elexitor armor looks great, but... Attack spells sucks in Elex. I rarely use attack spells. the support spells are solid though. I prefer the Clerics because of the support spells like one with the weapon and their armor looks the best. coupled with Redeemer or Mortal Beam for ranged and Regent Sword III with energy damage for close range combat this is really good and looks faboulous. Outlaws use of stims makes for extremely powerfull characters. severely underrated and very powerfull. my second playthrough I decided to try and not kill Kallax and save Ulbricht. first had to get warm/cold meter to intuitive right before the starting the actual attacks in Ulbrichts offensive, to assign him to Nastys and Jax own group, so I can keep an eye on him. his survival does not affect the further game beyond a few nice words and congrats after your win. for that only do the main quests and companions quests and if possible only choose the answers that lower cold. maybe do one or two additional quests, if you notice they give an option to lower cold to just get to intuitive. then highspeed with minimum quests required (only main quest and companion quests) to the last chapter and the final fight with Kallax. sell whatever you don't need and buy Elex en mass. then make elex potions and drink as many as you can or just consume the raw Elex to get your cold level to just enter dispassionate. you will need about 300! Elex potions for that though. this will make it so Kallax is only stunned after your fight and gets up again. there is not really anything that changes in the game storywise with Kallax alive, same as with Ulbricht. After you did all that, go back, slow down, do all the quests you put on hold, get new ones, rise up in the faction you did choose, explore... etc. you can get your cold level easily down to below neutral again to get what the game considers as best ending. At this ending every faction will like or at least tolerate you. there is a very easy to exploit cash cheat that can be done at the vendor in Origin camp. use it to get the Elexit to buy the raw materials for Elex potions. Alternative: don't cheat, get animal trophy skill and grind away for trophies to sell. or use chemistry to make and sell those potions/consumables that sell for more than the raw ingredients cost. there should be at least one to fit that criteria... hopefully.
Do you recommend playing Elex vanilla, unofficial patch, or Elex Overhaul for my first playthrough? I was leaning towards the unofficial patch just for bug fixes.
hmm I'm not sure since I played before those were made. I started on day one version then there was some update for graphics that made everything blue as fuck and ugly in my opinion. Then someone made an unofficial patch not sure what is called that reverted that change but you kept the bug fixes. You could argue that ELEX is on a different planet so you can make the atmosphere any color you want but it was ugly. That my experience with ELEX when I played it. :D As for my recommendation for your first playthrough use only patches that do not mess with save games. Meaning that you can go back to vanilla if you don't like it. I'm really not sure what is out there may be some rebalance patch or something like that would probably need its own save game. Where graphics and bug fixes usually work with vanilla saves. So check what patch does to save files. I personally prefer to play at least on the first playthrough of games vanilla version. In some cases that is not possible maybe the original game is old or buggy so you need to patch it. Something like Gothic 3 :D But if I was playing Gothic 2 for the first time I would not add dx11 patch or anything just patches to make it work on modern hardware. I like to play the game as dev intended to make it.
Thank you so much for your video and taking the time to answer my question. I too like to play games the way developers intended. The unofficial update seems to fix basic bugs so I may start with that. Great idea about how it affects game saves. Thank you for the advice.
@@BeastBZ np :) I hope you find ELEX to be a fun game. If you have not played another PB game and you like ELEX next game that you should play is Gothic. They are the first game that PB made and in my opinion, are one of the best RPG games ever made. Ofc outdated graphics but if you don't mind that they are really good. Anyways have fun.
Did not test it but I think you have to. You get main quest to join one faction. And Sestak tells you that you need better gear to take down the hybrid. So I think you need to join a faction to trigger next act. It would be cool if you could join alb separatist or something like that :D
Great concise video. But are all these difficulty settings (for Stamina & such) on the PS4 version? I didn't find them in settings, if so. I only found settings for Game Difficulty, -- Easy, Normal, Hard, etc. I didn't see settings for Stamina or Auto/Manual. I'm wishing I could fine tune this game with all the settings you show here. Is this the PC version? I'm assuming it is, as the settings menu looks to have more than the PS4 version I have does.
I feel really stupid since no one else seems to have a problem with it, but I just can't figure out how to change weapon modes. Can anyone help me out?
Well there are few ways to build your character. I'll recommend a build that I talked about in video for beginning go dexterity and intellect for attributes and get this gun ua-cam.com/video/p98_wicfhPo/v-deo.html then you continue with dex and int to get max animal trophies skill so you can make money from animals/mutants after that go for this rifle ua-cam.com/video/0D-5dsCWie4/v-deo.html this one of the best weapons in the game and it does not require lots of stats to use it. After you get that you can farm up all skills in no time and use anything that you want :) Btw almost forgot idk if you know that you can craft elex drinks for attributes and skill points if not watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/y_CWCAZWpLg/v-deo.html When you have animal trophies maxed out and you craft elex drinks you can max out everything. Not really recommend to over do it since it incises your cold values and based on that you get different endings I think I talked about that in the video.
MirePlays Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely look into all of those videos for the information. Keep up the good work you are one of my favorite new channels I’ve subscribed to!!
Ok a bit late but maybe for others: built attributes always around the skills you want to get - get lockpick 1 first around abessa there are two chests and one has the thief amulett with pickpocket +1 and one with lockpick +1 - then get chemist second pickpocket everyone in the cities for lots of cash - then make elex potions - then get the attribute skill as early as possible. - then built for animal trophy 3 and the fighting skills you want. You have a big bonus as a cleric here since psi and energy weapons rely on intelligenz which you already needed for animal trophy
Nop. It's possible with cheats but I did not try it. The only thing that you can get related to jetpack is the melee jetpack attack. And that skill is really not a priority it's fun but not essential. That said one tip that I can give you is tapping the button for flying and not holding it. Also always leave some fuel so you tap it near the ground so you don't die. Once you get used to this you can get anywhere you want. I, for instance, managed to climb up that big transmission line near the beginning area without any problem.
Not at all what I was looking for. This game is just as confusing as Gothic when it comes to directions. All these quests I get at the beginning so I assume they're starter quests but no, most of the enemies in the quest area are destroying me without breaking a sweat.

I fucking love you man! Auto focus was fucking killing me... Didn't even think you can change such thing
yeah I turned that thing off right away. I think it's more for consoles for PC is stupid.
