It took me about 2 months to “train” my hair into not washing but once every week and a half. It’s totally worth it tho cause I hardly ever get greasy hair anymore and color doesnt fade nearly as fast
Elaina Dufur how did you do it? Did you go completely without washing? Did you wash with only water in between? I’ve been trying to train my hair for 11 days now and it obviously looks horrible right now... any advice?
Did you use any dry shampoo? I have a charcoal one but I find I have to use A LOT of it. I also have frizzy dry ends so paired w greasy roots it looks horrible.
How did you do it?? Also do you have thick or thin hair... thick hair usually is fine without washing. I have thin hair and omg I can’t go without washing it 😂
Cwüsel * I’d rinse it with warm water and basically rub my scalp as if there was shampoo in it. And I’d only use conditioner on my ends. I never really used dry shampoo but I did occasionally put baby powder in at night and dust it out in the morning. It helps soak up oil and also adds a bit of volume!
Irmitaaa Bonitaaa I’d rinse my hair with warm water and use baby powder to soak up the oil on the days it looked super greasy. My hair has thinned out a lot cause of all the bleaching but I’d say I’m right in between thin and thick. But it was still ROUGH 😅

I am living for your aesthetic! Makes me miss when I used to dye my hair, my natural brown hair is so boring! Sadly I can't go too crazy with colours since the study for the type of job I want to get sees "unnatural colours" as "unprofessional". Oh, how I can't wait till a point in time when the professional part of society doesn't immediately judgment someone's character off of their style.

Through watching your video's my daughter (she's 5) and I think you can rock the rainbow hair like no other. It just looks so natural on you. I was very worried about the black chunk but it does look good. And if you LOVE it, then that is all that matters!!
When she started to talk about how her color is so intense i was like "i didn't wash my hair lmao" and when she said that she actually didn't wash her hair i literally lost it!
Transylvania faded straight GREEN and it was like that for MONTHS
I had my hair stained green and I took a little bit of sunset mixed with conditioner (extremely diluted because the green had already been bleached and was just stained at that point) and put it in my hair like an orange mask - it canceled out the green to blonde
Every time I have used this black it never stayed and it was never true black. It always ended up off blue, which it is a blue black, and same it would turn green.
Mine is turning purple, maybe it depends of the color your hair was before (mine was platinum)

I made the navy mix using Transylvania and girls night and it faded out to such an ugly green :((( and wouldn’t go away! I had to get my hairdresser to fix it lol

I never even thought about putting a layer of conditioner to help prevent color crossing! I think you should leave it like it is. I LOVE THIS LOOK! So versatile!

i love how our thought process was exactly the same. i recently been having an itch for black hair too! which i know is a huge commitment so i went with transylvania as well. i split dyed black and orange to yellow. But then a week later i got immediately bored with the orange and turned it red with vampire red/poison/cosmic sunshine. the halloween vibe was dope but something about the red just makes me feel riveted lol. excited to see how it fades cause i like orange when it fades from a red more than an orange itself.
I love the chunk of black! It looks so so good with the rainbow right next to it.

The black dye does stain skin but you can use rubbing alcohol to remove it. I found it very simple to remove the stains. Also if you have a yellow blonde hair the black will fade to a sort of green because of its blue and purple undertones. Sometimes it will fade to a Navy blue

I dyed my whole entire head of white blonde hair with the Transylvania during a mental breakdown and then I regretted it so much because it was such a huge change for me. My experience overall was not bad because when it faded it faded to a really cute purple shade and eventually I went back to blonde. (Also be careful with your bathtub because this stuff bleeds everywhere and is going to stain your bathtub, towel, clothes while is wet so be careful ) btw I love your videos🥰🥰
Kayden Alexander it probably takes a pretty long time, if you want something short term do pink or purple
It really depends on how often you wash your hair... I would wash my hair 3 times a week or sometimes 4 and it took me like 2 and a half months until it completely fade out to like a purple shade and then I just used a color remover bc I didn’t wanna wait any longer

Depending on the brand and ingredients it can be very drying to the hair and scalp and potentially damaging if you overuse it.
dry shampoo IS product and it builds up in your hair verrrryyyy quickly. it is one of the biggest perpetrators of product buildup in your hair and can be hard to get rid of without using a sulfate shampoo. your hair will get used to not washing it after a month or two, but dry shampoo is bad advice.

I'm going black to help my hair regrow 😬 It 's been over 3 years and I'm horrified lmao. I'm probably going to do the blonde streak too because I had that before I went blue (my fave guitarist in a J-rock band had his hair like that and I was obsessed lol).

Maybe her scalp is dry? Also Dry shampoo also exists.
you can train your hair to not need washing often, i only was mine once a week if that and it doesnt get oily or gross :)
Your hair gets more oily the more you wash it👌you need to train it
Start with changing the products you use. Most shampoos use sulfates that strip the hair of all the oil, so most conditioners use sillicones to make the hair feel smooth. Sillicones are very difficult to remove without harsh cleaning agents, and it will take weeks for your hair to feel like nice hair again. You'll start to notice that you don't need to wash it as often, and you'll be able to increase the time between washes.

I’ve been having my hair black for quite a month and a half since I had red hair I just decided to do it I cried over it cause it’s been forever since I had my regular black hair and I bought bleach since this quarantine got me bored and I wanna try to do half blond half black but With the blond might dye it grey .-. But idk

Endless Ember 56 if you have red hair dye underneath black hair dye and then try to bleach it at home, its gonna be ORANGE. maybe wait for a professional or do a lot of research, red and black are really hard to bleach out.
Yeah what?? So under the black you have red? If you try to bleach half your head, its doable BUT you need a color remover first probably twice and then bleach.
Is it a semi permanent? Because I did the same thing, I had bright red hair then put Arctic fox’s Transylvania on top and it faded out to a purple then a grey. After that, I got it professionally bleached and the red came back up. I dyed it back to red tho so it was okay.

Nova Del Fuego I’ve had these incident before CSU’s in cosmetology school they bleach my regrowth, and I had blue green hair and I dye it red brownish for graduation and then I went like a dark brown type
I waited for a year maybe to bleach my hair again and it did came out a bit orange but mostly blonde due to the fact there was a lot of color under and I had it also purple (it was just a mess of a color let just say) before I dye it brown
I’m currently growing my hair a bit since my red hair wasn’t like a full head just only half
But my hair is currently like a red brown since the dye wasn’t like pure black, it was a dark brownish but not too dark
At that time with my red hair I use ions permanent dye and it was damaging my hair so bad I had to chop my hair short (shoulder length) but I’m currently waiting for my hair to grow a certain length of my desire and going to bleach my ends again once half of my previous hair color grows out to.

I dyed my hair aquamarine blue with artic fox and then decided to go over with transylvania and leave 2 blue strips in the front, that was 2 months ago. Now my hair is purple and still bleeds while washing and bleed into my blue and just and everything gets stained because of my hair. Also it stained my bathroom counter purple where I would accidentally drop dye. There is no blue in the black its purple.

princessali83 seriously. Even with dry shampoo my max is 3 days. But I’m a greasy mess. I tried training my hair for a week, but 3 days is all I got. It used to be my only option for second day hair was a full ponytail lol so it’s better than it was
Jellybeansbud I can go about 5 days but since quarantine is going on I’ve just been letting it go about a week between washes and just being a greaseball.
i've seen other youtubers say that having bleached hair makes their hair less oily. so idk
You essentially train your hair, the longer you keep leaving it in between washes your hair will stop getting greasy as quick, it’s bad for you hair to wash it too often so leaving it longer makes your hair healthier especially good for damaged bleached hair 💛
