The cancelled Getaway 3 for PS3 was one of the biggest "oof-s" ever. Those games were so special
Technically it isn't cancelled just on indefinite hold. At least that's what helps me sleep at night.
The same studio made a PS4 VR game about a heist sets in London. I just pretend that it's the Getaway 3.
It seems that anything different and interesting gets put off or cancelled these days.

Definitely need some more of this. Used to play this game a lot as a kid. It's aged terribly as far as mechanics go, but is unintentionally hilarious.

Much like the Double-oh-Yemen video playthroughs, I would *very* much like to see this fully played. Just at least once. As someone who's never heard of this series, the thing that stuck out in this video the most is your dry/witty humor. If nothing else, takeaway the fact that I really do like binging these kind of videos while I work or when I'm mindlessly playing thru Fallout games or shooters. 😅

I could never get over how huge the main character’s head looks.
Me and my bud years back played this and I love the getaway games but I died in a stairwell and smacked my head against the wall and left a blood splat.

Yeah, they truly fucked up head proportions for the second game, first game was fine. Later on the cutscenes look fine, until Mitch walks in with his big head cheat activated

I liked 1st The Getaway more. IMO Black Monday is more janky.
Also it's great to see Cinque in games. I believe it's only Polish car that appeared in games (well alongside Seicento in GT2).

So was this the sequel to The Getaway? If so, how and why does it look SO MUCH WORSE than the original game that came out PRIOR to this one?!?! The original Getaway game was absolutely one of my all-time favorite games as a teenager. I would LOVE to see a modern AAA remake for the PC.

This game was great. Played it for days on end. Played it over and over, got all the cars and endings. The first time my dad played and we cried of laughter.❤😢
Ugh, Getaway Black Monday was bad when I played it years ago. Glad Micky made jokes throughout the video. The first one is great though.
Fun fact, this is one of the few games (Such as Silent Hill 2) that used real-time shadows as in, shine your flashlight on something and it will cast a hardware traced shadow, instead of a fake baked in texture like most consoles of this era used. Not even Doom 3 on the original Xbox had real-time shadows and that entire game was based around lighting.

Indeed, I was playing it again recently and that was one of the things that caught my attention straight away. There are also real time shadows in MGS2 while using the USP flashlight during the Tanker ambush section if I recall correctly . Very nice indeed.
Ah yes. The ole crack em on the back of the head with a rifle trick. Thats the Hollywood knockout cliche and not something that definetly kills the person around 40% of the time. They're not as much unconscious as they're in a comatose state

As much as I love the second game, I would honestly say that the first one was better. The storyline was slightly more dark but really well written.
