So glad this body style is still available, I chose a Classic over the newer 5 th gen simply because I love the big rig styling that nods to my childhood favorite 1994 Dodge Ram. The new one looks like a Tundra to me. Plus I don’t need or want all the new fancy technologies and facets that will just break later down the road. Love my Ram Classic regular cab 4x4!
Agreed - the previous generation has those aggressive looks where the newer version looks more tame. Both are great trucks but it speaks for the design of the Classic that even after 13 years it still looks great.
One year ago, just bought my 2020 Ram 1500 Classic, and love it, its a quad cab, V8 Tradesman with the chrome trim package. Its smooth, strong and it feels incredibly light, only upgrades I've done on it so far, Dual exhaust pipes with flowmaster, 2" leveling kit for the front and 35" tires with the stock wheels. Love the looks. And I don't see myself changing it over for another truck...
I agree. I have a 2019 quad cab 4x4 Ram classic tradesman, 20 inch wheels, chrome package, hemi and the 8.4 unconnect. These are great trucks! They look good, ride good but still have a truck feel to them. They're kind of old school compared to the new trucks. I already had the dual exhaust, but I did a muffler delete but kept the rear resonators to avoid the drone in the cab. The things sounds great! I plan on keeping it for a while. I'm hoping to get it paid off in half the time, keep it and buy one more hemi Ram before the v8's are gone.
@@jeffsnider7842 Still enjoy every minute of it. It's a great truck for the money, but prices were lower when I got mine, not sure how much you're saving over the redesigned/current RAM today?
Extremely proud of a 2020 Ram Classic Warlock!! Love it, and I will definitely be loyal to Ram until proven otherwise. Comfortable, powerful and definitely the best looking truck on sale in the last 10 years and current market!!
I've looked through at least a dozen RAM truck reviews and this one is the best. Seems like nobody talks about all the little details that matter. Storage in the floorboard that can hold some drinks and ice? Zip-out covers on the seats so they can be washed? Where the jack is located (so if I'm looking at used I make sure it's there)? Coat hangers on the back? How do the seats fit with a normal sized guy and a 6'8" guy seated in tandem? This video is just packed with information, wish there were more reviews like this.
My company truck was a 2018 Ram like this one. I liked it so much I bought one exactly like it for my personal vehicle. The higher levels have all the bells and whistles, but I just like everything about the Classic Tradesman.
I have a 2019 Ram classic Tradesman and love it! It's the best way to go if you don't want to break the bank buying a truck. It can't tow as much as the Ford, but if you only need to pull about 8,000 pounds or less, this truck will do the job just fine.
@@rogerrussell9544 At least the new v6 engines have some horsepower. I've had two hemi's and a v6 in a 2006 Ram. What a dog that was, only 187 horsepower back in the day.
@@Hats1976 The 3.7? It was big, heavy and not overly ambitious. A 318 with 2 cylinders cut off. I think I read that the 3.6 replaced 11 different V6 engines when it hit production.
@@rogerrussell9544 yep! The 3.7 it was . It was a dog! I couldn't drive into a head wind because the transmission would constantly downshift. I will say this though, that Ram was a good truck. I never had any engine or transmission issues, and I never had to visit a mechanic for nothing more that a oil change. My exhaust manifold came loose and threw a check engine, tightened the bolts and that fixed the problem. I had some rust starting on the bed over the rear wheels. I kept that truck for 8 years and traded it with 200,000 miles. That's why I continue to by Ram trucks.
It was pure marketing genius on Ram's part to continue making this body style. Especially based on the popularity of it. Too many manufacturers do the exact opposite of what the customer base wants.
i just recently got this truck but one thing i noticed is no matter what kind of after market phone holder my phone will fall sometimes and driving on a busy highway and my phone falls (which is where im getting my navigation) sounds very scary. is there something in this truck i can utilize? or is there maybe something i can order?
Are you using a suction cup on the windshield? There are phone holders that you can slide into the air vents. For suction cups on the windshield, putting some water on it before you tighten it helps a lot.
Rams are the best trucks I’ve bought. I bought 4 brand new since 2005 and I’ve never had reliability issues on my 2010, 2016 or now my 2021. I will never ever buy another pos ford or Chevy.
The Silverado is nice too but nothing beats the Hemi engine. With the 1500 Hemi you'll have more towing capacity and smoother power but no 4WD. So it really depends on what you need. If you'll only be using your truck on pavement in a southern climate then 2WD Hemi would be your best choice. If you need to drive through mud or big amounts of snow, then the 4WD of the Chevy would be more useful.
I bought a 2021 tradesman classic night edition with the V6. It’s got plenty of power and with the smaller engine, they were able to bolt basically everything directly to the engine block, so there’s a lot less vibration and the weight distribution feels perfect. So quiet too, I love it. I don’t need a penis extention so I don’t need a big loud jacked up racing machine! 😂
Bought a 2021 with all kinds of options like the night edition, cold weather package etc but it doesn’t have the engine beauty cover or the pull out drawer in the dash. Kind of disappointed me
I'll tell you what the third cup holder is for in the front seat. It's for holding drinks that you don't trust your child to place in the cup holder properly. You're welcome.
The text said "Hey, Welcome to Luxury Car Report", but it never made it to the final cut because the whole sequence took too long so it would break the pace of the video.
As much as I liked the first FC for me it had a really bad paint job from the Warren plant an oversite on my part not seeing the flaws on a dull cold day. The Hydro Blue is a horrible color. FC did paint the parts of the truck but it was worse. SO quality control is still and issue from FC factories, and the truck I would not be taken back on a buy back. We don't have lemon laws in Canada. Shame on FC for sending this out and having the customer to deal with a $50k truck. Forced me to trade it in early, but I got the truck in Brilliant silver this time. I still like the V6 and fuel economy.
4th generation RAM 1500 is an icon .............will never get really old!

Best RAM Classic review out there! Good to see a in depth review of the basic spec Classic that's not a Warlock.
Thank you! The regular models are often overlooked but interesting to show because they're such a good deal.
I own a 2019 Ram Classic 1500 great truck i recommend it to anyone in need of a new Truck.

I’m torn been a blacked out 2021 Ram 1500 2WD classic with a Hemi and a 2021 4WD Silverado with the 2.7T. Any suggestions?
