I thought to mention that because someone had been in there before and totally ripped the panel up. It was missing all the retainers and flapped in the breeze. haha
Buddy you brought back some nightmares of me building these G vans at the motors. Can't bear to look at them anymore it's just too traumatic. Nice fix Tim
Can’t believe people pay to get locked inside a room and try to find a way out nowadays...they could just own a GM product and have that experience all the time! Hehe.
On at least some 97-02 that area the power window switches mount to is a separate piece of the door panel. The one I pulled a power window motor from a couple weeks ago had that already separated from the panel when I got there.
The owner of that van should be grateful that he can make a quick escape next time his wife yells at him....Looks like that's not the first time you've done that ! Have a great day Car Doctor.
Good day I own a 2013 sierra, I guess I broke cable inside?, open window, open door. went to skid steer place truck beside me, turning window to reach out to open door. I had to laugh, is this a chev thing lol Thanks. How cold is it there . I,m from Ont.
oh yes, the newer ones break just behind the lever at the cable retainer. Not sure why they cant fix this stuff other than they plan on it breaking to keep the money coming in.
It looks like a farty little handle, shame they didnt put a bit more metal into it, or moulded some plastic around it, for a bit more strength+cold insulated.
Yes we all know what a fart is, digestive gasses going south lol. But Farty to me means small or barely good enough, but english is adaptable, you plonk a daft word in the right place and it becomes negative and a judgement. "This handle is about as usefull as a fart in the bath" lol. Read the bottom line of this: farty. Adjective. (comparative fartier, superlative fartiest) (informal) Resembling or characteristic of a fart; flatulent. (chiefly UK, informal) Small and insignificant; petty.
You make a good point about the removal of the door panel. We can no longer assume they pop out. Nice one Tim.

The Car Doctor That could happen too. 😊

How many "I'd rather beer Deer Camping" messages have you left behind door panels during your stint with GM? =)
HAHA back then it was deer hunting but lately the other .
oh man, im glad I don't have to make a living changing engines in these vans...yuk. I found your thumb print on the inner door panel on this one.
haha I liked your short story about jumping out from the window haha good good
Thanks for the video
Slide door panel up. I learned something new today.
The first one I did I didn't slide it up....I learned an expensive lesson that day!
Nice quick handle repair Tim!

Those little 1/4" Snap-On flex ratchets are sweet. One of my favorite tools.
agreed! such a time saver
If The Car Doctor channel was going when they were filming Dukes of Hazzard, things would have been very different

Excellent video Tim.
Thank you.
Great video thanks for sharing. I wish you the best in life my friend. You are truly a good person.
Very kind of you to say Thomas...If you only knew me, you probably wouldn't say that. Just ask my wife. haha
Can I put a handle inside on barn doors both back and side?
Great video...Thanks.

My weather report says it's nine degrees warmer in Anchorage than here. (MA)
I was hoping nobody noticed. Please keep that weather down there...we are enjoying our little blast of warm!
Exactly the van i need the info on down to the color!! 😂🤙
Color is a common overlooked attribute. Haha. Glad it helped
