I enjoy the asymmetry and organic qualities of Japanese design. My father was in the Occupation Forces in Japan after WW2 and he brought back many pieces I still have. I would suggest that you digitally photograph each item and record the date you purchased it, where, maker, and heading like that. You'll have a record of souvenirs and when your grandchildren inherit them, they might have a greater appreciation of the item and you.
How lucky! Inheriting pieces like that is so precious. And thanks for the tip, it’s a very good idea - It’ll probably end up being a pretty extensive catalogue 😅
Loooove all the Japanese ceramics
Such good unique finds!!
It's an addiction, haha
but thank you so much!
I love japan...cool people, cool interior ❤ great video!
Thank you!
Great video, would love to see more from this trip :) My favorite find from my travels is a little unexpected- I was at a big street market in Mexico City and found a box set of the Lord of the Rings trilogy from 1973. It's one of my prized possessions.
Wow that’s an amazing find!! Also street market in Mexico City sounds like a dream - Mexico is on the top of my list of places I wanna go 🤩
Whoa 3:11 Thomas McKnight 🖼️ artwork. We used to sell his work in the gallery.
Ah yes i know, so cool! Would’ve loved to buy it but bit too big haha 😅 well spotted tho
Så mye fint!👌 Har du noen tips til bra markeder/vintage- og bruktbutikker i Oslo/Norge? Hadde elsket en video om det 😇
Ja, det kan jeg absolutt gjøre 🤩

- Botanisk hage møbelforretning
- Inventarium
- Carousel
- GG Retro
- retroAlm (Kolbotn)
- Retro Antikk
- Lite Nytt

@@JOETB 👌 takk 🤩
5foot tall ebony carved mask from Dakar Senegal Africa is my favorite piece. I named him Sanya after my fabulous guide. 👩🏻🎨🎨💋
Wow that’s amazing! Naming him after someone you met there helps keep the memories alive too, how cool!
I love collecting souvenirs when I travel! Here are some that come to mind: I got 2 folk artworks on wood from Mexico, 1 painted lotus leaf hat and a wooden golden dragon from Vietnam (as well as fabric lanterns, many tiny boxes in different styles, a little silver boatman figurine), a wooden frog from Cambodia, tiny wooden handpainted animals from Australia, paper animal balloons, a flower frog and serigraphy artprints from Japan (and many many more things because I lived there for some time). These are probably the most speacial things that I have at home =)
Wooow, amazing finds - sounds like you have travelled a lot 😍
Loooooved this video. Ceramics shopping in Japan is on my bucket list 😍
