- He was one of the most well-known and respected referees of all time. Tommy Young made a comeback at WRESTLECADE/2015 and Bill Apter was there to talk with him on THE APTER CHAT!

Wow. To go from being the most visible and respected referee in some of the biggest matches of the day to...driving a parts truck for Toyota and now delivering prescriptions for seniors. A hell of a way to go out, but at least he's still around to tell the tale. He outlived a lot of the wrestlers.
Tommy Young was the only ref I ever saw for years I thought he was the only one Mid Atlantic and Jim Crockett had
Growing up in Philly and watching World Wide Wrestling every Saturday @ 2pm on channel 17 with Tommy Young as the referee was a treat!!
Tommy was a great referee. Loved the way he rolled around the ring instead of just pacing around, he made the matches interesting .

Wonderful to see and hear from tommy just him reminiscing about the good old days hearing him mention iconic names like Jack Brisco and The Funks and Harley Race who is actually my favorite NWA champion and Buddy Rogers it humbles me and makes me proud of the rich history of the wrestling business
Tommy Young still looks great, sure wish he hadn't suffered that injury, bet if that hadn't happened, he'd probably be the head referee for the WWE.
