    Every WWE fan who trashed Batista when he came back needs to watch this, and his interview on Chris Jericho's podcast. If anything, what this guy let the WWE do to him in terms of booking and even hurting his legacy just shows the dedication he has to the fans. So much fucking respect for this guy, the face of the Ruthless Agression Era in my opinion.
    Great interview by the way, Chris!

      +Guny Fuentes , i will include myself in this group. I thought he was equally culprit of him being imposed in 2014 just because of his friendship with Hunter and Stephanie and the fact that also Road Dogg and Billy Gunn where shoved as tag team champions,

      +Guny Fuentes Yeah,he's one of my favorites of all time,and when he came back i couldn't understand all that "booing".I Think that he was even a better heel than orton during the Shield vs Evolution.But yeah,he got shoved down fans throats,and that just fucked it up.Creative needs to be all dismissed and to employ new people

      +judge218 Actually both. I think Brock and Batista did have a kind of a faceoff, but WWE just pushed that aside. Brock vs Batista would've be great esp. if Batista had a good manager as well, like maybe Bischoff. One of the better matches that never happened.

      +bardock123 It's pretty much the same thing that any and every former WWE superstar has said. And the sad part is that it's probably never going to change. It's like WWE exists in this bubble where they can do no wrong and every decision they make is going to be accepted by their fans, so they shove Cena and Reigns down people's throats when people want to see Cesaro and Ziggler, or how Charlotte is Divas champ when clearly everyone wants Sasha Banks to be on top.

      +[thr33x gaming] thank you finally I see some sees an agrees what I Said yes Cena an Roman everything for them but why not push ziggler, Cesaro, kevin, bray especially an Batista is returning but just for his retirement match he said

    • @yvesheinrich5013
      @yvesheinrich5013 9 років тому +1

      +Diego Rodarte We gotta accept the fact that WWE is meant for Sports-Entertainment, not actual Pro-Wrestling like what going on in Japan, Mexico and in the Indys. All the talented guys in WWE joined WWE to gain fame and get to the top but entertainingly not sportively. So therefore all the talented guys aren't getting their chance at the top. That's why you have Cena and Reigns because Vince wants entertainment and guys like Cena and Reigns are what makes Vince $$$.

      Patrick Bateman If you think it's funny then you're a fool because he is. It's doesn't matter if he entertains YOU or anyone else. He an entertainer just like Cena, Batista in the past, The Rock, Steve Austin, everyone who's gimmick was built to sell and talk on the mic, not to show performances like most Technical wrestlers and those who've been in the Indys for years.

    Love how genuine Batista is here, and I completely agree with his point of view on a lot of what he's saying. The creative hive mind working in WWE just seem to make things so much more complex and frustrating for the fans AND for the wrestlers too. He's right, nobody wanted "Batista" as a babyface (good guy) in his return, they wanted Daniel Bryan and Dave understood that because he's intelligent and in touch with the product. Dave really does seem like a great guy, all the best to him in his acting career.

      And i'm wondering why those nut head crowd are cheering for Vince everytime Vince makes a special appearance? They should be chanting "Screw you Vince" or "Your doing it wrong Vince" but no, they didn't do that, instead they wrongfully blamed the wrestlers, so both sides (Vince, the creative and the fans) are at fault, no wonder WWE is becoming crappier than ever

    • @thagrammarnazi
      @thagrammarnazi 8 років тому +6

      +Mister Who If they blame Vince, it's no skin off his nose, he's a billionaire who's been dancing around bad press for years. When you blame the wrestler (and when people do, they always mean the character not the actual performer) Vince has to take notice because something he's investing time and money in isn't working, Wall Street executives don't care if the country despises them they care if their stocks are down.

      I had stumbled upon Wrestlemania 30 and Royal rumble 2014 since I hadn’t watch WWE in 8 years. Pretty much the last I saw of Bautista. Then I was checking if he made any returns and he did. I was pretty shocked that the fans booed him and Rey mysterio during the RR and booed Bautista at WM30. I guess all the real fans left. I would have never booed him. I met him in person at a restaurant when I was 11 in San Francisco. He’s always been a nice guy

    He said he'd do just house shows. That's cool. So it's not the spotlight that he wants. He just likes to act for the sake of acting. Not the fame. I respect that. I was at a house show years ago with a friend. We got front row because of a mistake somehow. Anyway, after Batista's match he came by and hit the side of his hand on ours to acknowledge us fans as a face. His hand hit mine like it was solid steel lol. It didn't hurt but you could feel how powerful these performers are. His dad was there and told me to "watch out little guy" so he could talk to his son lol. Even the ring announcer lunged at me for a joke.

    WWE Creative is just terrible, I Keep watching it and when things finally start getting good it just gets taken away, like out of the many examples they started building Cesaro, and he was almost there at main event level and they just took it away from him, It feels like they never go the full way anymore with things and its just shitty. It doesn't even feel like Pro Wrestling anymore it feels more like a Parody of Pro Wrestling, where they don't call Wrestling Wrestling and they don't call fans fans. fucking stupid.

      +Toxic Twist That's what they do, build a good gimmick then bury it. Look at Bray Wyatt, he and his family should be running rough shod over wwe, Bray as the champion, Braun as both the IC and US champ and the other two as the tag champs, but Bray was involved in that shit Roman angle, but lost that. Now they're going after Taker and Kane.
      Then they have Cody Rhodes become this incredible Stardust character who is everything Cody could never be on his own. He was a tag champ with his brother once. He should've been IC champ by now.
      Kevin owen's character got fucked up, The ascension got messed up, I never saw them in NXT, heard they were great there but looked mediocre as hell once they got to the main roster.

    As old as this is, man I gotta say you asked all the right questions. And Dave is right, you can see it in the way the fans respond even today, they want what they want, but wwe just keeps shoving things down their throats. Dave saw this before he even got in, and well... the rest of the story speaks for itself.

  • @blackadam7867
    @blackadam7867 8 років тому +30

    He was an awesome babyface! WTF Dave! LOL. During the Ruthless Agression era he was the face of Smackdown and along with John Cena he was the face of the company. I think his best work as a wrestler was as a babyface. One thing I admire about Batista was that he always wants to put guys over. He said from the begining that he didn't wanna win the Rumble and thought that someone like Regins or Bryan should have won as they're up and coming stars in the business.
    If anyone is to blame about Batista's 2014 return it's creative and partly the fans. This guy gave his body to the profession and company years before any of these fan boys and IWC jerk offs even watched wrestling. It was discusting to see the reception he received when he came back.
    Trust me the next time Batista comes back even if it's just for one night, he'll get a huge pop.

Quite frankly though, he's doing so well as an actor right now that if he doesn't go back to the WWE it's all good cos I actually enjoy seeing him play his characters...he shows some genuine talent which is pretty cool to see...I like his acting more than The Rock's tbh. I'm looking forward to seeing him move up in Hollywood.

    This is probably one of the best reasons why i say that Batista doesn't get nearly enough credit for what he does, whether acting or especially as a wwe superstar.
