To answer Carrie’s question; yes. My convictions in high school were the right ones and the mistake I made was letting another decade+ pass before the bubble burst and I was back to the same conclusions about myself and love.
On a side note, the best part of this scene is Carrie’s facial reactions to Charlotte at the breakfast table.
My mum is literally Charlotte... Innocent, Naive, proper and charming and sometimes I wonder from what planet she escaped from !!

Depends on the school. I found better guys than the rich snobs and selfish wanna-be-s in my highschool and university. Also, depends on what you are looking for. I wanted a middle class practical good guy with good looks who would treat me as an equal. I never found that in schools.
samantha is my girl!! i love how she is eating pineapple and blueberries for breakfast!! i dont know how that keeps her full for a half day of running around new york city but she is awesome!! she was the real star of the show!! carrie was just the main character!!

OMG, will you people stop asking about Sebastian, SATC came first and it was perfect, the mistake was letting the cw get their hands on on a masterpiece like SATC and turn it into an insipid, unoriginal, superficial, gossip girl reject, piece of crap that was the Carrie Diaries. Who ever watched that show was truly not a real fan on the trailblazing, original, masterpiece that was SATC.
In actuality, if the writers of The Carrie Diaries, had done their homework, then they would have never named that character Sebastian in the first place. Hey idiots SATC cannot change the characters name because this show came first.

Really I didn't even know Carrie diaries existed until these comments and now looking at one episode my opinion is that The Carrie diaries is absolutely without a doubt the worst thing to be created in the history of ever and I'm so sad it exists
The same person wrote the Carrie diaries and satc Sebastian was in the Carrie diaries book but he was a jerk and Carrie never gave him a second chance but when they made the show he was popular so they made him redeem himself.
I think of the Carrie Diaries as the Muppet Babies of SATC but a way off version for CW. SATC came first and it was raw as hell. I give no legitimacy to the watered down prequel.

I honestly think all four ladies are pretty, but Samantha is stunning (IMO).
I saw mine after 20 years, we looked to each others eyes and we knew the flame was still there, but its a different flame. He was married and had 2 kids, we spend 3 days together listening to the music we used to listen in 1998, we kissed but then I had to leave.

Thing is, my long distance boyfriend (a straight one thank God - I couldn’t do that again 😜) was in town at the time. When I told “gay guy” - let’s call him “Roy,” he just kinda went “Oh never mind.” Haven’t heard from Roy since. That was back in 2005. 🤷🏻♀️

Yeah but weren’t you (and Carrie) completely different people in HA than you are today. A guy may be perfect when the biggest thing in a 16 year old’s life is having a date for the movies or the junior prom. Grown women’s lives are much more complex with a much different set of needs.

Turns out it's the authors doing as she wrote sex and the City in 1996 and the Carrie diaries in 2010 clearly didn't look back at first book as even Carrie and Samantha's ages don't add up. Going on the Carrie diaries she graduated high school in 1986 so should be 30 in season one of satc but plot summary says they are all late 30s yet in the Carrie diaries Samantha is depicted as atleast 5 yrs older. She certainly seems older than the other 3 in satc as well but then this is what happens when writers forget what they have previously written

Every time Carrie speaks it’s like a grand statement, as if her news is more important than everyone else’s. There is Narcissism in this character, I think the three girls are amazing to endured her. Even though it is just a script, I’d imagine there’s a little of the real girl in there.
That said, I do love them all together as friends, it's a great mix of personalities.
