1.When Charlotte mistakes the black woman as her friends mother-in-law.
      2. Charlotte’s knowledge of black artists when we’ve never seen her talk about any of that before.
      3. When Charlotte and Harry have to have a meeting about Rock after being the last people to know that that’s their name now. The school should have contacted them. I wish the media would stop telling parents to stop being parents. (Rant for another day)
      4. Mirander and Che…period!
      5. The forced diverse cast. They are trying way too hard. Remember Miranda dated a black man (Blair Underwood). Their meeting and relationship was not cringy. It was a natural meeting and relationship. The new characters deserve better.
      6. Che is not funny!
      7. Mario Canton is now Carrie’s friend?!

@@meshiawashington5852 you bring in valid points but instead of onwardly devaluing their story, can we understand where the writers, casts are coming from and what their intentions are?
wrt to race, and not that I'm defending them but, could it be that the white upper middle class ++, while they know that POC exists have never understood how their own privilege dehumanised POCs. They are trying to acknowledge their ignorance and make up for it.. should we be judging how they navigate this space???
My take. while trying to make up for ignorance, they are making mistakes (which is natural) and sometimes are forcing things perhaps because they want to feel like they have done the right thing, or perhaps of personal conviction or another reason. Point is navigating this amount of social change, while older is their story, some of it forced in our lenses, but perhaps that's also the struggle they are facing.
Instead of cancelling allies for doing it wrong, Perhaps such views should be given spaces so that the next decade can focus on honest progressive conversations🤔

Anthony's lines about Charlotte's daughter were spot on. My child spent an entire year chastising anyone who misgendered her (she wanted to be "they/them") and quickly about faced to I'm a lesbian with she/her pronouns. All in her sophomore year. Kids/teens don't know what they want, they see something that fits their mood that day and run with it. All we can do as parents is support and talk with them. They'll figure it out eventually. But walking on eggshells as a way of support is just ridiculous. No child or teen knows exactly what they want at those ages.

They made Miranda unrecognizable. Beside her awkward racial issues, her personality has been written terribly. Miranda in SATC didn’t stumble on her words, didn’t rely on others opinions so much, and didn’t smile so much
about feelings. Miranda rarely made poor excuses for the way she acted, she usually stood up for it or apologized harshly. I hate how glossy of a character she is now. Everything is a giggle & a smile. Her pining over Che is unlike Miranda, regardless of her feelings for them. Miranda wouldn’t lose herself like that. Remember when Burger told Miranda “he’s just not into you” & Miranda agreed? She wouldn’t be so attached to this weird relationship with Che.

Make a character trans and/or queer because they are trans and/or queer. No huge storyline necessary...just existence.

If certain groups are included just for the sake of inclusion, but without any real focus or huge story line, viewers may still get a sense of the "checking boxes" issue. Like, oh why have minorities or gays if they're just empty characters without any substance? So, they're kind of damned if they do and damned if they don't. In my eyes, this is the real problem. Society is much too hyper-focused on calling out every little offense, and far too sensitive for anything to be perceived as just natural and organic, even when it is! If people would just stop reading into every little thing, maybe they'd all calm down enough to realize this.

I also got the henna on my hands at one ceremony. Guests taught me how to dance to Indian music and her family and Indian friends were thrilled to see me partaking in the culture. Growing up with her, I always felt her family and the Indian culture (as a whole) extremely welcoming to me, and eager to share customs and traditions. Kim Cattrall is coming off like the queen she is bc she avoided this train wreck. The excuse they gave over why Samantha left is laziness on the part of writers. Samantha moved to LA in the movies so she was longer based in New York anyway, so they could’ve just written in that distance caused the friendship to wither away like it happens in real life. Or they could’ve written it in a way that is consistent with Samantha. I agree that the Che character is the worst of all. One of the first non binary characters on television and they make them vile. 🤮 And the actor Sara Ramirez who portrays Che said in an interview that non binary ppl are not monolithic. Sorry excuse. Seriously the percentage of actual transgender people in the world that are actually serious about it is so minute. Both characters we’re added/changed purely based on that and that is the extent of their characters, which is pretty sad. (I'm myself mixed black (from South America) and white Dutch) from the Netherlands. A rich white woman in the US is just much more likely to be surrounded by similar looking people and chances are much bigger that they would never ever be friends with a non-binary person. Not because they don't like them but they would just not meet them or have anything in common. The truth is people generally stick with their own. I'm not saying mixing can not happen. But that would much more likely happen at a younger age in college. Not at 55 all of a sudden going from 0 friends of colour or 0 trans friends to all of a sudden everyone they meet ticking one of those boxes. The idea of Che guiding Rock would be great.

I think that the way Anthony reacted when it comes to Rock was perfect. Less is more. It is completely absurd the way Charlotte and her husband reacted when it comes to the school and how fast it all was solved. Anthony and Charlotte's interaction shows how much she loves her 'baby' and just wants to protect her and do the right thing. On the other hand, Anthony (is his Anthony way) calmed her down: let her be, give her space. You will do the right thing - Anthony is an extremely sensitive character, even though he is also self centred. The moment Charlotte really needs help with Rock, he will be there for her.

I liked the moment with Anthony though. I myself was fantasizing at some point of my childhood that I want to be a boy. I played with boys, loved boy toys, looked like a boy, all my favorite heroes were boys, etc.. I even had a boyish nickname. But if I changed my gender - well that could have been a huuuuge mistake. You cannot make such crucial decisions when you are a child because you just don't understand lots of things.

You realize that the "transition" at 12 years old would simply be a name change and clothing changes right?
If they suffer from dysporia maybe puberty blockers which simply turn off puberty and are not permanent (stop taking them and you continue with pubert). They're not only used on trans kids, but kids with precocious puberty too
And you can't be legally on hormones until you get a ton of counseling and are so dysphoric you can't function in life

Agreed. I thought his suggested handling it was correct. Don't berate her or belittle Rose, but don't let tween melodramas dominate or dictate things.

But one individual experience can't apply for lots of little people, changing gender is not about just want it, people got to the psicológist to verify what's going on on the childs minds to see if that's what the child really want and if he understands all stuff that you didn't by the time

I love how Carrie is rich and lives in Big’s beautiful brownstone but kept her rent controlled apartment. Couldn’t let some poor New Yorker who needs a home move in eh?

This show is so self-conscious about being woke that it gets in the way of the storytelling. I give you props for making this video and calling this out.

I don’t know why but considering what Miranda and Steve went through in the movie I just can’t picture her cheating in general

I guess it's best to just pretend that this series is a whole different universe/canon than the original series or even the movies. Otherwise things doesn't really make sense.

The fashion should've been on the list or as an honorary mention. Its been severely lacking in all the episodes. The main creative force behind the great fashion in the show and the movies was Patricia Fields and since she left it feels like they gave up. She's working on Emily in Paris now and its like all the good fashion moments went to that show.

Yep! The fashion in this reboot is godawful. And it serves as yet another reminder that the writers want to know these ladies are OLD. (In case we missed the 1,000 mentions of age.) It's like they're afraid to have any of them show their arms or neck or legs. It all looks so frumpy and bizarre for women who were usually very stylish.

Not really. Most of Emily In Paris'fashion is absolutely horrendous. So it probably would've still sucked.

Good god, it’s awful. Whoever is dressing Charlotte needs to tell her that shoehorning her into a 6 when she’s an 8 makes her look like a can of busted biscuits. She’s not overweight nor does she look bad in any way, but she’s obviously gained a few pounds. Not sure why Carrie, who can’t be bigger than a designer 4 has to have all her party dresses hidden under oversized blazers. They all need haircuts. Every cut and color makes them look frumpy. Carrie and Charlotte had shorter hair in the series and even then it made them look modern and young. Miranda either needs a whispy shoulder length with side band and some damn color or a pixie. Just because hair goes gray doesn’t mean you just accept it if it washes you out like it does her.

I'm so glad that you included the puking scene. That was just so unnecessary. Nobody wants to see that. Also, the scene with Miranda and Che in Carrie's kitchen was just too much. Their explanation for Samantha's absence is a crime. That character would never have behaved that way. That's one of the worst possible explanations that could have come up with. It was an insult to the character and to the audience who knew Samantha so well. The whole show is trying too hard and tone deaf. There's honestly very little that ISN'T cringe-worthy.
