Sorry They were never The Way We Were
Absolutely no! These women are complete hypocrites ! Thank God Samantha said no.
@@garnwalkerstables Prove it.
What I can't understand is no one has ever noticed these women have no family.
Zerty
Ladies, when your ex is getting married, resist the urge to be whimsically dramatic and show him how untameable you are. Don't put on something semi-bridal, do your hair and stalk him outside his engagement party with that look. Just don't do stuff like this. This is how you reveal yourself to be a crazy person.
Lol😂😂
😂😂😂 so good and true
Or the one who he’s glad got away. It wreaked of desperation.
This is great! Well said! You should write advice columns - not Carrie Bradshaw!
I love this comment!Precious!
This should have been how their relationship ended.
Yes and I hope Carrie was not so forgiving towards him . So many chances .. in a way I lost respect for her. And I wonder always is it Big she loved or his status?
Agreed! He seemed like a child in a man's body lol ...Aidan was sooo the one I wanted her to end up with

Carrie: I need to run free and be wild.
Also Carrie: I will never stop trying to get Big to settle down with me.

It’s how us women are
It is sheer desperation. If a man does not want you - LET GO. Let him go. And do not turn up to his engagement party.
Want to marry, and want you physically is different

He clearly does want her if he’s leaving his fiancé to go talk to her
He invited her and she was just casually wanted to visit the venue..may be watch the whole ep
It's giving "pick me,choose me, love me"
😂😂😂😂 it really is
Yes! Carrie was definitely a “pick-me”🤦♀️
Literally exactly what it is
and he did
Very rude and hurtful of him to leave his fiance waiting in the car while he chats with his ex, and very rude of Carrie to seek out a chat with her ex when she knew his fiance was waiting in the car. At their engagement party. It probably ruined her day.
and the HAIR STREAK!!!! the audacity
People show you who they are though. If that was Mr. Big’s priority, it’s good Natasha saw it. And it will be clearer onward that he may not have his priorities aligned with her.
Both women knew full well what kind of guy they were getting involved with.
@@TrueWalker88 Carrie, yes, but Natasha, I'm not so sure. We didn't really see their relationship.
When it came to dating and relationships Carrie's morals weren't the best. She did what she wanted without regard to how it would affect others. This the same Carrie that cheated on Aiden and began an affair with that woman's husband. So rude is an understatement.
This here says it all. I think that Big really liked Carrie all along but she was too difficult. Carrie is the type of woman she'll never be satisfied, and Natasha she's more independant so she won't act needy with him. It's pretty simple. Then he got bored because deep down he craves drama too because he's not as stable of a person as he thinks he is. Needless to say Carrie and Big are a perfect match, but for all the wrong reasons. Really they both needed therapy instead of chasing relationships.
You’re speaking the truth. Seen this happen in real life with people who complain about crazy ex but then never realize it’s them that likes drama

Well it wouldn’t be the first time she stalked him.
It’s always got to be about Carrie or she just ain’t interested
Then why she walking the other way when she finished talking to him 🤔
Yep. It was a low class thing to do showing up there.
The way she made eye contact with Natasha and then touched his face, she totally did it on purpose.

This should have been the end. However, think of all of the times after this that he disrespected her, including leaving her high and dry on their wedding day. I always wanted her with Aidan because he was healthier and nicer. I think Hollywood does women a disservice by always pushing these "struggle love", "against all odds" romances that never work like this in real life. We are programmed to accept dysfunction from men.
But Carrie didn’t love Aidan. She settled for him because she could not have Big at that moment. Would you rather the message was women should settle for the nice guy and hope to cheat with the guy they actually love and want to be with when they can but stick with the nice guy for security?
@@barboralitvanova5111 I would have preferred the message be that healthy relationships can be beautiful and romantic versus a codependent relationship filled with narcissistic abuse.

This just shows how toxic and selfish Carrie is. She shows up (in a white dress, no less) to his engagement party and demands to know why he didn't choose her? UGH
Speak now or forever hold your peace
Actually it was Natasha who didn't act right.
She saw that Big and Carry had loooooooots of unfinished business between them.
Carry was abused by Big for a long time. And got discarded after years of stringing on.
She felt hurt, and naturally had a surge to find out why he did it.
Big didn't cut their cord either. He damaged both Carrie and Natasha. Typical narcissistic triangulation.
Great writing on the show... all of her epiphanies about love were self centered, jealous, comparative, insecure. She tried hard to believe her own hype and to be strong. But really she was just a little girl and hoping this guy would love her back the same way. She became consumed with it because he didn't. Just like a real person in real life.

I agree! Carrie is such a well-written character. She’s completely rooted in reality.
Spot on!
Well Carrie's dad abandoned her when she was a child so it's understandable that she dealt with insecurity etc.

Big always thought Carrie was not enough for him, he never introduced her to his mum or friends.
they are not from the same class, dating is fine, but never a marriage.
Such an awful moment for a woman: how Can you chase a man like this?
You didn't choose me, ok! I would've change city or even planet and completely erase your name from my memories ! Who do you think you are ?
Ladies, have self respect and always choose yourself over a man's attention.
I' wouldn't be caught dead crashing his engagement party to another woman. Makes her look desperate and needy.
It must've taken some guts though and strong will to even go there, couldn't have been easy, sometimes just keeping away would have been the easier choice, maybe
My problem is that she ends up forgiving him later, that should've never happened
Why bother changing city or planet ?? Just living my life would've been enough .
Wow the caress on his cheek after his fiancé was clearly watching from the car 😂
So disrespectful
Such a (lame) power play.
its a reference to a movie from the 70s lighten up ppl
Carrie is a bad mind gal
@@townsendagency6780it's from the way we were with Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford, she called him Hubble
Carrie was sooo kidding herself here. If he dumped this young hot chick he in fact chose over her and ask her to get back with him she would jump at him so fast he couldn't even blink. She simply created the explanation for herself so it wouldn't hurt that much
That's exactly what a lot of people do. They either lie to themselves making the other the bad guy, wallow and read into everything to make themselves the bad guy, or have a healthy grieving process.
This is literally the only episode I've watched of the show. (I was surfing channels and stayed because of the movie references) Yesterday I saw posts on how Carrie was upset about Big leaving his ex-wife a million dollars and my thoughts went back to this episode along with a rather scathing sentiment: Carrie Bradshaw must have been full of herself to believe that she was in the same league as Katie Morosky.
Or course, perhaps it's an unfair feeling to have, I don't watch the show after all.
She has a point though. He dated Carrie, even when he had access to a thousand young hot women, so he had to be attracted to her. That was never the issue. It was more about conflicting personalities and goals. Carrie is saying that if she was more complacent and "easier" for him to deal with, he might have chosen her. Sounds plausible to me.
@@fayepatrice1672 she was also needy and created drama all the time. They were a mess. He was distant, she pushed too hard and wouldn’t never let the little things go. This is just her convincing herself that she wasn’t the problem. “It wasn’t that Big couldn’t handle my bs anymore. It’s that I was too free and independent and cool for him to handle so he ran off to someone who was way more boring than me. I’m amazing and better and everyone knows it.”
And she’s right
"Maybe some women aren't meant to be tamed"... Seriously Carrie? You were hoping he would tame you, you were begging he tame you and when he didn't, you "accidentally" went to his wedding to catch him and ask why he didn't tame you when you were so ready to be tamed.
This, my friends, is a perfect example for cognitive dissonance

The heart wants what the heart wants
I think the answer is that Big was never really into Carrie. She was his friends with benefits thing, a fling. There were many signs early on that he was not into her, but she ignored them all. For example, when he took her to a Chinese restaurant, where not so many people would see him with her, or the fact that he did not stop dating other women, after starting seeing her.
They married
@@MissTia777 Their marriage is a pure fantasy. That is why their relationship is criticized by the critics as it shows an unrealistic scenario and projects unrealistic expectations for viewers. It is that women will think that a man, who does not value them, will magically change their behavior and marry them. They just need to wait long enough (actually for years) and forgive a man everything. In real life, Carrie and Big would have never ended up together.
@@grgn7786 The whole show is fantasy. But it with all the roller coaster episodes between them, they still got married!
@@MissTia777 I understand your point. The thing is that in the first seasons the writers showed quite realistic character dynamics and struggles in their relationship, while the happy ending was forced and unnatural. There were no back story or character development done to make their marriage look less unrealistic and believable.
He never really loved her and she was too much into him, also they r from different social levels, for some ppl that means a lot. So it's nothing about being wild, what's wild in Carry? She's always forgiving, waiting him, ready to run as soon as he gives a sign and say "wanna have fun, I'm single again". She's also not complicated character, maybe a bit too dramatic😅, but nothing extra, so it's not like he couldn't understand her, he just didn't want to. But that's not nice truth, so she's choosing to believe in different ideas, kind of psychological protection. That's just not meant to be, no love, no good connection, only romance mostly in her imagination, and immature behaviour. He never thought about her serious and she created whole story in her head. But for series romantic line this dialog is much more matching, of course 😀 just not trustworthy for me.

Carrie looking "empowered and liberated", and she ends up marrying him 🙄🙄🙄
I just now realised how incredibly creepy Carrie is. She is wearing a white dress. I mean, I remembered it already, but I didn't think about the meaning. We don't make gala engagement celebrations in my country, but I've seen a lot of wedding portals, all suggesting that the future bride should be wearing a white cocktail dress. Someone as fashion-aware as Carrie, was very aware not only of the symbolism, but also of the fact Natasha might be wearing the exact same dress. And while Natasha is shown waiting in the car, Carrie is touching him! I mean, how creepy would it be if the genders were reversed! If the bride's ex boyfriend showed up uninvited to her engagement party, asking her questions about their relationship, touching her... her fiance would probably hit him in the next scene! And here we are supposed to root for Carrie!
You know that the character doesn’t choose the symbolism but the writers? They chose to portray her as the jilted bride, to drive the message home to the viewer. It was subtle enough, she didn’t show up in a long gown and a veil lol.
