The last chord you put is not a flat major
so basically this only works in a chord progression following that pattern??
Inversions can be applied in any chord progression. The main take away is that the bass line doesn't have to only use root notes of the chord. You can use thirds, fifths, even sevenths! Experiment with any chord and see what sounds good.
