That transition from "Losing Time.." to "Wanting to Escape.." is one of the most melancholic melodies i've ever heard in any song, LaBrie adds so much singing it too.
@@muhtasimshahriyar8351 Just enjoy the music rather than working on that shit whose better than who list of yours. Anyways if you like them better than wtf you doin here just disappear.
Man that Losing Time outro is one of the best chord progression I have ever heard. Its just something different, whenever I listen to it I feel nostalgic as well as happy at the same time. The whole album is just a masterpiece and its so awesome to see the idea of construction of the base theme of SDOIT.
If I could ask DT to revisit one moment it would be to extend the Losing Time outro into a whole song, it is such a moving progression, gets me every time.
Very well said! When I first heard it, it felt so familiar. Instinctual as if I had heard it many times before but also fresh and exciting. One of those timeless pieces that just feels right.
@@nachogiles8541 I know, right? They really did a superb job in conveying emotions through the music. I don't remember how I got to it, but I do know what kept me from it and many others - I hated what the band did to MP
they're in fact very similar. I listened to the astonishing first and then to the 6° and the connection hit me immediately. but yeah, 6° quickly became my favorite as well and it's quite odd to me that some other dt fans have 6° as their absolute favorite but they also absolutely hate the astonishing and call it disney and stuff like that

I bought the album back in the day, after owning all of their previous albums. I tried my best to like it and I played it over and over again. I never bought another DT record after that.
@@scorpiusbalthazar4327 yeah. I wanted to see if anyone else actually likes this crap. I watched the video because I hate that album with absolute zest. Why you might ask? Interestingly enough, I found every album before to be a masterpiece and DT my favorite band. This album "killed" my favorite band. That's why I feel so strongly about it and why I got drawn to the video. I still have the album, but now I think I'll give it away to someone with no taste in music to enjoy it. Thanks.
Only Jordan Rudess can compose a 40+ minute song in half an hour!

Tell me you're a genius, without saying that you're a genius
what a time to be alive when this album came out, i was blown away, and still enjoy this masterpiece
Possibly their best record ever
Not even close
It's my favorite by far
It's number 4 on my ranking, right below the Holy Trinity of I&W, Awake and Scenes. It's so damn awesome I can't even.
@@Arnoldfan89 it's probably their last good album before they became totally generic
I have it as #1.
Six degrees song is out of this world. Glad we can still hear it.
#1 album of all time 🙌🏽🙌🏽
How Dream Theater composed final fantasy theme in a parallel universe
Best album ever!!
thanks again giorgio you rock dude
You're welcome! Thank you so much for the support!🙏🏻🎶
Best dt ALBUM PERIOD.
SDoIT is STILL my all-time favorite DT. The Astonishing, which I only listened this year, is my close-second
I love the astonishing. All melodies are in the perfect place in the history they are telling. So brillant. I love it

Absolutely underrated record.
god i forget how fantastic that song is
Genius!!! I love SDOIT!!!
Thanks for sharing this!
Great album
sdoit is just great album
especially great debate
SDoIT is one amazing album
With their instruments
took me like 5 minutes to identify the outro as "under a glass moon"
I had to play the solos and stuff
Rudess was ordered to come up with a dramatic, glorious and big melody > he plays a misremembered version of the outro to Kansas' "The Wall." 🤷♂️
The ending of Octavarium sounds like The Wall too, but I don't mind since The Wall might be my favorite Kansas song.
@@TheRealJoeNathan I agree that The Wall is really great.
