This song has one of my own personal misheard lyrics. We sang this in my kindergarten class many years ago, and I thought one of the lines went, "Three chairs for the red, white, and blue." Since Neil Diamond was also part of this show, maybe one of those three chairs was the one that didn't hear him in "I Am...I Said".
I wish I could have been there, it makes one hold their head up high as a proud American, A lot of blood spilled to have this great nation, it would be a shame to lose it through apathy......
Piccolo part makes me grin like crazy every time. I remember the first time I heard "Stars and Stripes" in an event where the middle school district's honor band was invited to sit in on a community band's evening performance. I sat next to the first piccolo and still remember that sense of overwhelming awe when the elderly woman (must have been in her 60s) stood up proudly and started performing magic with her solo. One of the best nights of my life back then~
@bennettfriesen I saw them on Saturday and Sunday, and I realllly listened. I loved them on Saturday because I could hear them a little better, and they sounded so fabulous! Really!
When the tempo changes and all the confetti comes out along with the flags, sends a chill down my spine...great stuff...
we were so happy then. Thanks drumpf
Thanks for posting this - it was wonderful -

there is a reason why this is "America's March"... GO AMERICA!
My High School has a pops concert every year, and our best band always ends with Stars and Stripes Forever, done exactly this way, flag and all! :)
The conductor has a unique style.
It’s actually the same one with Washington DC a capital fourth

@Snowblind1309 Actually, most performances I have ever seen of this piece, there have been 3 piccolo players.
