Flood protection works designed to protect 970 business and residential properties in Hawick against the effects of a 1 in 75 year flood event on the River Teviot.
The works include 6km of sheet piled and reinforced concrete flood defence walls and embankments, various culvert upgrades and diversions, 8 surface water pumping stations, a new WwTW pumping station for Scottish Water, replacement of 3 footbridges, as well as the construction of 7km of new active travel network and associated landscaping.
Works also include a full upgrade of a section of the A7 trunk road which runs through the town centre.
