Lyrics:
[Egyptian Guards]
Mud...Sand...Water...Straw...Faster!
Mud...And lift...Sand...And Pull
Water...And raise up...Straw...Faster!
[Slaves]
With the sting of the whip on my shoulder
With the salt of my sweat on my brow
Elohim, God on high
Can you hear your people cry:
Help us now
This dark hour...
Deliver us
Hear our call
Deliver us
Lord of all
Remember us, here in this burning sand
Deliver us
There's a land you promised us
Deliver us to the promised land...
[Yocheved]
Yal-di ha-tov veh ha-rach
(My good and tender son)
Al ti-ra veh al tif-chad
(Don't be frightened and don't be scared)
My son, I have nothing I can give
But this chance that you may live
I pray we'll meet again
If He will deliver us
[Slaves]
Deliver us
Hear our prayer
Deliver us
From despair
These years of slavery grow
too cruel to stand
Deliver us
There's a land you promised us
Deliver us
Out of bondage and
Deliver us to the promised land...
[Yocheved]
Hush now, my baby
Be still, love, don't cry
Sleep as you're rocked by the stream
Sleep and remember my last lullaby
So I'll be with you when you dream
River, o river
Flow gently for me
Such precious cargo you bear
Do you know somewhere
he can live free?
River, deliver him there...
[Young Miriam]
Brother, you're safe now
And safe may you stay
For I have a prayer just for you:
Grow, baby brother
Come back someday
Come and deliver us, too...
[Slaves]
Deliver us
Send a shepherd to shepherd us
And deliver us to the promised land
[Yocheved]
Deliver us!
When she sings to moses and kisses him one last time, I started to cry. My son turned 3 month old today and I love him so much. I couldn't imagine ever losing him. God bless her for being so faithful.
he’s 12 now!
@@joeybar.My thoughts exactly. 🤭 What a coincidence for both to see such an old comment at a similar time. Hope the kid is grown and well! 😊❤
"My son, I have nothing I can give
But this chance that you may live
I pray we'll meet again, If he will
Deliver us" -- oh my god, her voice is AMAZING. everytime i hear that part, i wanna cry ='[
I'm a believer.
And I appreciate how other believers and non believers can watch this video and enjoy the beautiful music.
Blessings to all. :)
I love Ofra Haza's music since 1980's
I was a young girl then, of 19.
Intrigued by her music .......she was a Princess taken away before her time, a songbird who’s memory will live forever! I will always carry you in my heart ❤️
YES BEAUTIFUL ALICIA SHE WAS A SPECIAL JEWISH SOUL
@@mickaelcohen5581I know (December 11th,2023 and December 14th,2023/🙂).
The wailing prayer of Ofra Haza (Yocheved) after her two stanzas of song at the Nile River chills one to the bone. The greatest female singing voice in recorded music history sang everything that she felt and believed. And she sang it better than anyone else. This faithful princess of song, now has a Soprano position in the Heavenly Choir. G-d bless Ofra.
if anyone wondered what she's saying in 2:13 in hebrew:
ysldi hatov ve'harach, al tira ve'al tif'had.
my good and soft son, don't be worried and don't be afraid.
Liran c prelepo.
I remember watching this when I was little, every time my parents asked me if i wanted to watch a movie, I would always want to watch "Prince of Egypt". I would sing this song every day!! :')
One of my FAVORITE movie...The Prince of Egypt....Beautiful! Love this movie..
Doesn't this song make you cry? I love it, it's so beautiful and touching :'(
The best voice ever!
Orel Benyair slažem se!!!pozdrav iz Srbije.
I don't believe there are any words to describe just how meaningful these songs are. It's like they reach to the very core of my being.
These are songs that I can listen to all day, and not one get tired of them.
I wish this movie got an award or something. Why do the best of things go unnoticed?
Beautifully arranged...this song still gives me chills. Ofra Haza's voice is full of so much emotion, you can really feel the mother's pain.
I've listened to this song at least a thousand times, and each time, Ofra Haza's voice just sounds more and more beautiful. She's absolutely divine.
Ofra’s voice is unbelievably beautiful. It haunts me in the best way possible. Imagine if ANYONE else sant this song for the movie? Bye. That wouldn’t have been okay. She is a master of the voice.
This movie has some of the best music! & Ofra's voice was just amazing!
Every times I see this I can somehow feel on my skin the suffer that my ancestors felt in Egypt, and sometimes I even shad a tear from this scene, awesome movie!!!
Who else would be scared of the swirling clouds at the beginning as a child and today you cry when Yocheved is escaping with Moses, Miriam, and Aaron.
Ofra was a rarity..such a loss..gorgeous too which never hurts
Hearing this song makes me feel like somebody is holding my heart.
I might be a hebrew speaker and a musician, but by the comments i see it has nothing to do with it. And i'm an atheist so it has nothing to do with religion aswell.
Its simply amazing how good music can deliver feelings, emotions, vibes, energies...
How perfect her voice!
One more thing I wanna add---the cuteness of baby Moses. Isn't he absolutely adorable??? You can already tell he's going to be handsome when he's older.
What a beautiful flower tragically cut short
WOW, I used to see this movie over and over again when I was a kid..
just watched again after 10 years.. it gave me the chills !!
Painfully beautiful. Ofra has the most amazing and touching voice. Whenever I watch this part and listen to her, I cry.
This is one of the few songs ever in any animated film that actually has depth in it. You can seriously feel the sorrow and promise in this song. Ofra Haza did SUCH an amazing job. She is greatly missed...
her voice..... wow.
Jordan Co igen.nagyon szép.
I am seriously waiting for this work to be remade as a live-action film.. I think it's going to be unimaginably huge and magnificent!
I love her voice
Ofra Haza had an amazing voice and talent... Because of her I'm proud to be a Yemenite Jew!!
Her death was so tragic and sad... Rest in peace Ofra, we still remember you and your beautiful work.
i love this movie... i grew up with this movie... i always watched at church when i was little
I heard of Ofra Haza just today and her voice is so strong and powerful. It literally stuns me to the core.
The singer Is no longer between us, she past away, but her voice never be forggoten. This song is beautiful. The story is well performed, and I love the movie, because you can use to teach the little ones, one of the big history of the jurney of humanity. Stop critizicing one to another it is insane.
"no longer between us" - you mean 'no longer WITH us'
Fun (or not) fact
In the Torah yocheved is actually the royal breastfeeder if moses
Since the royals didn't want to do that
Just thought you might like to know that
I always get chills when they're singing and cry my heart out when moses' mother starts to sing
Beautiful as always. The composition is just incredible.
Ofra haza has such a strong voice. I'm brazilian and I'm surprised that she sang this song in so many languages. I only discovered that who sings in portuguese is the same person that sings in english when I read the description of this video, but I always thought that "their voices" are similar. hahaha
Liana Lobo she died the year after this came out from AIDS related pneumonia
Ok seriously this is not the place for religious debate. People on both sides, please just stop hating on each other. A person's religious beliefs or lack there of is THEIR choice. Not all religious people are insane and neither are all non religious people. I'm not denying that there are extremists on both sides, because there are. I myself am Catholic, but my closest friends are Islamic, Jewish, and Atheist, and I have friends from several other religions as well. Yes, religion can both bring
bloody1scarlet1rose of course u going to play the saint. Remember what Catholics did to Jewish people go fuck yourself we will never forget til u pay the price
bloody1scarlet1rose UR BLOODY NAME IS PROVING WHAT UR R THE SAUNT YEAH RIGHT
Jesus is the one true God and Christianity is the one true religion
This literally brings tears to my eyes every single time I listen. So powerful.
so beautiful. just... chilling. i grew up on this movie and it still touches my heart.
fantastic.
עדי עמיטל JAko lepo.uh što je lepo ovako unazad pisati.pozdrav.
If an animated movie ever deserved to win an oscar for best film, I'd say this was it!
Really nice voice. u can def. see that their is a very strong arabic influence on her voice and style, think I read her family are Yemeni Jews. She did look very Arabic.
They modeled the mother after the singer.
I just love this song! I grew up with this movie!
-Dana
5:42 look at that neck!
Dat neck doh
the giraffe neck?
This song is from Heaven ^_^
Zachary Osborne IT THE HOLY THORAH ITS SAYS THAT HER NAME IS REALLY BATYAH THE DAUGHTER OF GOD THAT WAS ALSO THE DAUGHTER OF PHARAOH BUT SPIRITUALLY SHE WAS GID DAUGHTER TO SAVE MOSES SO HE COULD LATER SAVE HIS JEWISH BROTHERS
i'm not religious in the slightest but this movie is so powerful, so beautiful, and this song is a beautiful expression of god's power and the emotions of the people in such a time and the power of praise... religious stories are so great!
I love this movie. :'D This song is my favourite.
And at the very end when you hear the mother's voice singing 'Deliver Us' when Moses is about to read the 10 commandments, it gives me goosebumps each time.
If you’re watching this in 2024 --->
5:45 Moses: I'm naked~ How embarassing... :)
I STILL get chills when I listen to this song, and each time, tears come. Love it! Never gets old!
"Mud...And lift...Sand...And Puuooollll....Water....and raiiiissse up....Straw...FASTARRRRz!!"
Don't know why but that's my favorite part along with the epic beat in the background :D
Moses's stepmother looks like a good woman. lol
The start reminds me a bit of Lion King, I don't know why
What really got me was at the end when they play the orchestral version of deliever us in the background after they made it across the red sea.
This song is amazing. I've been listening to it for years and it never gets old.
قصة موسى عليه السلام
Triste
I used to watch this movie all the time when I was little, and the song that his mom sings always made me cry, and it still does. Such an amazing story this is.
This is one of my favorite movies, even though it's technically a kids movie. Not only is the movie amazing in and of itself, but the fact that the events in this story actually happened, it sends chills down my spine just thinking about it. God always takes care of His children even when it doesn't seem like it, He truly is amazing.
She's singing it in Turkish too right ?
Hebrew
You assume that Satan exists, sir, and that God exists.
And that is your right, but I do not believe in that, and so cannot take your explanation as valid.
What's more, I could not excuse such a God even if I did believe one existed. You say Satan rules this world? Well, then who is supreme overall--God, or Satan?
If it is God, as you seem to believe, then he must have power over Satan and, thus, by your own logic, his refusing to intervene to stop him makes him malevolent and culpable.
Daniel Freeman GOOD JOB DANIEL AM JUST GOING TO ELABORATE WHAT U SAID DEAR BROTHER. GOD IS EVERYTHING GOOD AND [BAD].BAD IS ONLY A REACTION PERSPECTIVE FROM OUR WEAKNESSES AS A DESIR TO RECEIVE WHEN ITS NOT THE TIME. CORRECTION FROM GOD TIWARDS US IS OPENLY SEEN AS EVIL CAUSE WE DON'T UNDERSTAND GOD LOVE. SO WE THINK HE IS BAD HAZ VECHALOM GOD FORBID
yes I'm Finnish too and this animated movie is very high-rated in Finland. I haven't seen it in school but I have been told to watch this many times by teachers and me and my friends watch it often... it's great! I start to cry almost every time... :')
The brass at the beginning is just sick!!! LOVE it!!
Wait... something's been itching in the back of my mind after reading these somments. If you don't believe there is a God, you don't believe in life after death and you're basically an aethist, then why on earth are you watching a video about a bible story. Please don't bite my head off but you're telling me that you don't find it in the least bit hypocritical? What are you guys doing here? How did you even get here? Weird...
Kira Suzuki Hi. Atheist here. This is a religious story for you, yes. But for me I see it as any other fictional story. I can still very much enjoy and appreciate it, just in a different way. ☺
אלוהים יברך את ישראל ועפרה חזה, אברהם לא עשו שום דבר למסע במדבר, יחי ישראל.
We need another movie like this. I was a child when I saw this, and I still come back to listen over and over again
I can't get through the begining of the movie with out crying ever since I first saw it as a kid!
Ofra's voice and face (the character was modeled on her) can impact anyone. :)
I had a huge crush on her and I love her legs and feet at 2:56. Imagine having friends with benefits with her ❤️🔥 🔥 🥵
nicely put without insults and negative words. Need more people like you to explain things to people...
I'm impressed! The same woman sung all the versions of this song? I'd never guess!!! Her portuguese in "Liberte-nos" is so perfect! What an amazing song. Everything about it gives me chills.
4:22 her face epic and you could tell has an Ofra Haza semblance
Excente anwer my friend!! i lisening too all time and i cant stop to fell emotion and cry in thise song!
I always get chills here...
awh this song gives me goosbumps ! love it !
I love this movie i was introduce to it in sunday school at church when i was younger. this movie is one of the main reasons why i started going to church and changing my ways. Moses has always been on of my favorite characters from the bible
this is one film that I searched for a lot! it took a while to find it but it's worth it
Linda versão. Bjss de Portugal
This is one of the MOST powerful scenes in any movie, live action or animation, that I've ever seen. Ofra did so well on this and the art is so detailed. Will never forget this for as long as I'm alive
I am a 18 year old male who likes action and shoot em ups maybe more than the next guy, and this part also makes me start to choke up. I watched this movie all the time when i was little. Still a masterpiece of a movie.
Goosebumps every single time I hear the beginning to this movie!
God this movie is beautiful. This song. The visuals. The feeling you get from it.
You wont be able to see something like anytime soon with 3D animation....
Dang... every time I hear this song I get the chills. This is so beautiful
do u know the felling that u have done something you would regret and miss all of your life? i have this felling when i listen to thouse songs from this movie and when i watch this movie, i miss this times when i was little, i watched this movie and i was happy, now my life is sad, i live in another country. i regret i wasnt happy about those things when i was small, i regret that very much, if i was about to chose i will chose to live in those 90s times again, world have changed. who misses it?

I love the music in this film, it's amazing!! xx
I love this so much! Classic! Makes me cry...
love this... one of my favorite songs
Love this song this has always been my favorite movie even though it is a little different than the actual story it is very close and I've always loved it. The book of Exodus is such an amazing rescue story.
The way she sings "deliver us" at 2:33 and at the very end gives me chills up my spine.
Extraordinary and inspirational music!
