The f250 has advanced traction, so even tho you shut traction control off, it still has another traction control holding it back, so hit the traction control button once to shut traction control off, then hold it for 10 seconds right after or until you see a “advanced trac off” message on the cluster. It should be totally different launching then.
Hey thanks for your comment, funny enough we actually did that and made sure advance trac was off and we still had a lot of trouble launching it! Very odd
Shots fired 😂 in all honesty we have seen some videos that show the F250 getting a pretty solid 1/4 mile time, faster than what we managed. Could definitely be that ours didn’t have sport mode on it… would be interesting to see how much that changes things. But we definitely tried everything and it still seemed to have trouble cycling quick through the gears. Granted, that 6.2 Sierra is just a fast truck!
Thats odd, I know you can also press the traction control button once to shut traction control off and then press and hold it again for a few seconds to shut off advanced track. Maybe watch the topcorey videos, his 6.7's are impressive
@@Knee-Deep-in-Wisconsin yeah we knew about advanced track, tried that as well. But couldn’t find a sport mode 🧐 Will check out that guys videos for sure. We have both seen some of those 6.7’s really move, which is what we were hoping for in this race!
@@Knee-Deep-in-Wisconsin they are very fast trucks. Especially with the new 10 speed transmission. The older 6 speeds were quite a bit slower and I think with the update they surprise a lot of the guys with Ford’s. That said, the PowerBoost (F150 Hybrid) is the fastest truck we have raced thus far. Tons of power
Press the traction control twice really fast to activate sport mode. And a banks pedal monster in sport or track mode and you have a very quick truck .There's a pause between the pedal and the computer.
@@freedomisntfree_44 that’s really cool, it would be very interesting to see how it would stack up against these half tons without that limiter on the launch. No doubt it would perform far better because they have loads of power
😂 it’s a pretty unique race. We just lined them up because we had them available. But we were curious how the F250 would do considering all of its torque. Just happens that the gearing really isn’t great for speed.
Can you guys get a 2021+ F-150 with the 5.0L V8 to run? They are 400 HP/410 lb ft of torque and I’d love to see how it stacks up to the heavier 6.2 GMC. I think it would be CLOSE.
Yeah man absolutely! We’ve had the same idea for probably 2 years now, but it’s been so hard for us to find a newer 5.0 F-150. Everyone goes for the EcoBoost engines these days so we’re having a tough time getting our hands on the Coyote. When we do though it’ll go up against all of the fast trucks we’ve featured on the channel, 6.2, 3.5 and PowerBoost. We’re really curious to see how it does as well!
Sweet! I got the 5.0L in my 2023 F-150 and it goes hard, shifts at 6,800 rpm. Definitely a different breed from the 2020 and older ones. Mine is an STX SuperCab 4x4 so it’s pretty light. Consistently get 5.4-5.5 seconds 0-60 out of it which amazes me that a pickup can do this.
@@jamesm2464 that’s wild! Yeah we’ve both heard that the newer gen 5.0’s are quite a bit faster, good to hear you confirm this! Where are you located? If you’re close enough we could probably have you and your truck out to the track 😂
Buffalo, NY here. Yes I think Ford did a good job on the 2021 and up 5.0. Peak torque is actually lower in the revs on the new ones (410 @4,250) vs the 4,500 peak last gen, yet the new one still makes more top end power and revs out further. Improved both worlds.
@@jamesm2464 right on, long shot but if you’re ever north of the GTA in Ontario feel free to let us know 😂 we’re around 3 hours north of Toronto Great to know you’re enjoying the truck! We’re very excited to get our hands on one and to see how it stacks up against these other fast trucks on the market!
Yeah it was definitely slower than we thought it was gonna be. Apparently these things are capable of mid 14 second 1/4 mile times but that might only be possible with the option of “sport mode” which the higher trim levels come with. That said, it was up against the 6.2 AT4 which the second fastest truck we’ve ever raced so it’s also a case of the AT4 making the F250 look slower than it really is 😂
If you watch the video we tried all of that. Brake boosting at various rpm’s, traction control off (even tried on too), tried different modes, etc. nothing we did changed the outcome of the race

Great video 👏🏻👏🏻 … I would like to see a Tahoe RST against Yukon Denali !
Much appreciated! Yeah that could be a fun race for sure. If we can find those vehicles we’ll get them out to the track for sure 😃
Woah! Our whole family liked this new format guys! Excited for more new videos🎉🎉🎉 keep it coming!
Thank you :) lots more to come 😁
Glad to see you back.
You as well! Hopefully we’ll be back consistently going forward :) that’s the plan anyways
Its a ford what do you expect 🤣

would be surprised to see rust on that ram
Guys, They're not meant for drag racing. Meant for pulling. The PowerStroke would likely pull the 6.2 to pieces . Just sayin.
We do this for fun bub, cheer up :)
Top tier vid
Thank you sir, much appreciated!
Come on, makes more drag race video, I love to see you guys
Lots more to come!
If you hit the traction control button twice quickly the ford will go into sport mode.
Interesting, we tried that but no success. Seemed this one didn't have sport mode for some reason, or maybe we just did something wrong

Yeah this truck definitely didn’t have a sport mode but yes you’re right, the trucks has MUCH more to give but the electronics let it down.
Never have I seen a 6.7 power stroke get beat by a gasser 😂
Now you have 😂
The powerstrokes are torque limited in the first few gears so they don’t spin
Ah interesting, makes sense! We were surprised it didn’t get going quicker
@@KingdomAuto yeah mines tuned and it takes that nanny away, if it’s not loaded down it will break traction really easily

I could blow the doors off that 6.2 with my 2015 6.7 power stroke. Both of those trucks are slow AF.
A very insightful comment, thank you sir.
Its a torque monster its to tow and it weights 3,000lbs more
Yep exactly. This specific F250 only weighs around 600lbs more than the GM but yes it’s geared and designed for towing for sure.
