I guess that's what having a relationship is actually about, not about how handsome or how much money they actually have or about if they want to get married. It's about finding someone that accepts you for who you are, it's mostly the reason why people get married after, they never actually thought about it, they only decided they wanted it because they already accepted eachother, I guess being yourself really is necessary in a relationship. rlly cute how haida was one of the only ones who listened to & actively supported retsuko in her death metal & in fact was pushing her to let it all out bcus he knew thats what she needed
I love how this show has flawed characters worth admiring that are also not super problematic. Like, all quirks are embraced here as part of the whole person, and not just treated as a negative on a pro/con list
I bet Misty Lee had fun with this story since she really does a cute job with Kabae, and hearing her story of her meeting her husband is just SO sweet :D
Aww that was Soo sweet!😊💕 Clearly Kabae's advice should be called back in season 4 by Retsuko once she realizes that Haida was that one guy who listened to every word she said too😭 if they don't end up together I won't mind either. But I still hope Retsuko will remember this advice❤️
I actually like this perspective though, like... it wasn't just that Kabae was 'flawed', that made it difficult to find someone to be with. It was also that she was looking in the wrong place. Someone who is very driven to become that type of doctor is probably also someone who genuinely likes listening to other people-- or else their job would drive them crazy, or they'd dismiss their patients, cause medical harm, and develop a terrible reputation. Retsuko's problem too is that her environment is completely the wrong one to find someone who's a fit for her real personality and heart.
I like how sweet the scene and the advice is, reminds me of of how my parents told me they met which was a car repair place where they both worked, I can't remember the one word or other for such a place for some reason. LOL but she said that the both of them when they saw each other both thought that "I feel like I know this person or have met this person before." And after that day they became best friends and then the best parents a lucky girl could have. They were married for I dunno know why I'm not sure but for 27 years I think. I'm not sure still for some reason, but for me and our friends, we could see that they truly were as some say soul mates and so many people wish that they had their kind of relationship. My dad though passed away in 2019, which as left my mom heartbroken. But it goes to show that life is beautifully strange at times and that how we meet the love our life can be what feels like a chance meeting
My parents always told me that the person you marry should be your best friend. They known each other since high school; she was the bookworm who kept to herself while he was the football player who was friends with everyone. And yet, despite their radical differences, they would eventually get married and have two kids.
Kabae's story reminds me of how my parents and grandparents met. Always when one least expects it. For my parents, my dad just arrived on mom's doorstep, literally. As for my grandparents, it's almost like the notebook but in that one grandpa actually ran grandma off the road to find out where she lived so he can take her out on a date, all based on the car she was driving.
It's neat how Kabae went from this simple jokey annoying character who simply refuses to shut up and constantly gossips about stuff. But in S2,she became this "mother figure" to his co-workers,one that gives comfort and advice to them when they needed it. I hated her in S1 but now I love her in S2 And her marriage advice is also very good. Since you shouldn't marry someone that you simply love, but rather someone who you love and will love you back. One that also accepts you, just the way you are. It's a very good advice ngl
1:41 that still makes me cry because I use to say this to my boyfriend when we first started dating and he always said it was a stupid thing to think. I was watching this with him and I saw him smiling at me from the corner of my eye.
Its a shame this doesn't always work both ways. Someone could find you marriage material for them but you don't view them the same, or you could view someone marriage material for them, but they don't feel the same way about you... Its a shame. But I always do praise those who truly understand the weight of such things, who don't simply fantasize about marriage but truly know that it is hardest choice you will ever make not because its difficult, but because you have to choose it every single day, every hour, every second for the rest of your life.
@@Apricot90 Do you know what a smother is? I don't know if Japanese mothers are like this, but most Jewish, Italian, and Mexican mothers, at least from what I know, all want their daughter to be married, have kids, take care of their parents, live the mother's dreams(depending), and more. Some even lead down to bulling though they never know it.
Toxic? I’m not sure. The child is often a reflection of the parent in some pet. In that conversation between her and Retsy, i think we kinda see Retsuko takes after her mother in some part. So her mother isn’t so much toxic as she is what Retsuko might end up as as she gets older. Is this good or bad, I’m can’t say. It’s one thing to want to be better then your parents, but depending on the parent being up like them isn’t a terrible fate either. For me my parents have been married well into their sixties and live a happy life together. If I can obtain that alone, I think I’d feel fulfilled.
I never thought I would get married, nor did I want to. Met my first love in college, been with him for sixteen years. It happens when you least expect it too. She is right though. I feel like Kabae is the hippopotamus version of Soos from Gravity Falls
And yet, despite their radical differences, they would eventually get married and have two kids.
this is the most romantic thing ever
Kabae made me rethink my "I'm not worthy of love" mindset
Kabae is the true MVP of season 2.
Can you suffocate from not talking
Maybe she stressing herself out from not speaking, or she wasn’t breathing. I asked the same question
Maybe she eventually forgot to breathe.
Oliver Closeoff yeah kinda what I said
@Sadie Boraline the doctor said she was suffocating
Absolutely
I love how her character develops throughout the show
Kabae's story reminds me of how my parents and grandparents met.
I hated her in S1 but now I love her in S2
And her marriage advice is also very good.
Kabaes such an amazing mom too im crying
This is the BEST advice i ever heard 🎈
That's actually f**kin' adorable.
this is best advice ever in a show. wholesome
It made me cry, it's so beautiful and it gives me hope
Kabae's and Ton's character progressesion is literally PEAK quality
This is So BEAUTIFUL❣
Its a shame this doesn't always work both ways. Someone could find you marriage material for them but you don't view them the same, or you could view someone marriage material for them, but they don't feel the same way about you... Its a shame. But I always do praise those who truly understand the weight of such things, who don't simply fantasize about marriage but truly know that it is hardest choice you will ever make not because its difficult, but because you have to choose it every single day, every hour, every second for the rest of your life.
"Someone else is going to think it about you. And they are gonna be _right_." is just about the most affirming thing I've ever heard 🥺
Kabae is just the fun mom of the office. She is careing for others and has gossip like everyone does
You just can’t top a nickname like “A-talk-alypse now”
This is so cute and wholesome
Kabae is amazing. She's like everyone's mom!

Yassssssss! Too pure!!! 😍😍😍😍👏👏👏
We don’t deserve Kabae ❤️❤️❤️
Aw that was so sweet it made me tear up lol
Kabae should have been her mother because the one she has now is TOXIC
Why is her mother toxic? What did she do?
Kabae
You are a lucky woman 💖💖💖
why is pretty much every character in this show great, kabae is amazing
That was wholesome af man!!!!!
This is actually pretty good advice
love always find itself in the least expectable ways
Her Husband either must have the patience of a saint or love the absolute crap out of her...or maybe both.
That is positively adorable!
The show of life lessons.
I guess this is how introverts get married...they patiently and lovingly listen to their chatty extrovert.❤️💙
She married a doctor. She could be a housewife but she wanted to keep working. Good for her. Life's a little easier with duel incomes.
Her husband most likely pays it all and doesn't let her pay because he actually loves her.
I’m not crying you are😭
AAAHHHHH WHY IS SHE SO WHOLESOME THAT ITS MAKING ME CRRRRYYYY?!?!??!?!?!
She is so damn wholesome!
I never thought I would get married, nor did I want to. Met my first love in college, been with him for sixteen years. It happens when you least expect it too. She is right though. You’ll know who your soulmate is because you will finally know what it’s like for someone to accept you as you are. You can be yourself. Heck, in some ways you’ll better yourself because a soulmate makes you want to be a better person.
Aww gosh darn it! Haida may be the Best Boi in this show but Kabae is the Sweetest Cinnamon-roll and should be protected at all costs! 😍😍😍
Kabae reminds me of my own mom (rip)
She always know the right thing to say
@Long-Tailed Charmander its fine really, im very fortunate that my family is strong and were getting though it. Its been about 4 months, and were so grateful that it wasnt because of Covid, or cancer, or any UNGODLY illness. Thank you tho. That comment was made in a really bad mindset of mine. Explaining the bad Grammer 😆
That Story is so wholesome.
Best life advice ove ever heard
Kabae is my favorite character for many reasons!
