Everyone should have their own Mr/Ms Perfect and end up happy with their soulmate, not settle for second best.

I'm taking a shot in the dark and guessing Ookami is a Maned Wolf as Aggretsuko likes using exotic animals for characters. I always imagined he was some sort of author avatar-like character with how despite being a minor side character, he always catches the attention of the viewer in the scenes he's in.
