When I was teenager in the ‘Sixties, I had a subscription to Sing Out! magazine. I remember a letter to the editor from Emmy Lou (as she spelled her name then) -like me, born in 1947- asking how one gets started in the music business… Peace and love.
I went to Gar-feild senior high school with her in Westwood, Va 1957. I got to dance with her at a school dance put on by the schools glee club. Man she was pretty & funny but her music came 1st. I'm one of biggest fans and has been to 22 of her performance.
She graduated in1965 as valedictorian at Gar-Field High, Woodbridge Va. She would not have been there in 1957. She lived just up the street from me, so I knew her.

Emmy is perfectly happy , she has two beautiful daughters, grandchild, and her music. Not forgetting unconditional love from her pet dogs. A happy happy life ❤
I knew there was something special about Emmylou back in 1977 when I heard her song, if I could only win your love. But it was in December of 2023 that I realized how much of a Scriptural Scholar she was. Scriptural Statements often blend the Kafkaesque Prophecies with the Literal Prophecies so seamlessly, it is hard to tell. I suspect when Jephthah killed his Virgin Daughter according to a very rash vow he made in the Book of Judges, this was like a Hidden Prophecy about the Virgin Mother of God. I see nothing "sad" about her decision not to marry again. Why do people still think everyone needs to be married or "partnered" all the time? Look at the stats, listen to the stories of almost every famous recording artist married and divorced repeatedly in their lives, all of that effing DRAMA! And many of them used drugs and alcohol to cope, undermining their health as a result.... "Marriage" is a dated narrative sprinkled with an insufferable amount of sugar yet the truth is far more bitter. Many, many marriages and relationships are just drama traps. What's the divorce rate now? Over 60%? After the pandemic about 10 new tenants, all of them young, moved into my apartment building. They are all single and seem to be doing fine. There are only two couples living together in my whole building of 34 units. Marriage is going the way of the Hula Hoop, or so it seems... As to Ms. Harris I think she is beautiful (and smart...)
