I love the aesthetics of this one. I don’t usually go due a lot of color but I like how this is done. I also like that they used the Miyota movement, keeping it thin. Not a fan of the plastic crystal at this price though. I’m not a GMT fan. I have no need of it. But this is a really cool option.
The plastic crystal is exactly what makes this watch special. If it was sapphire, you would loose the distortion and that’s interesting. It’s not for a one watch solution.
Just received my Hyperion and I’m very pleased. I really enjoy the vintage look and they nailed it with that one. I’m a commercial pilot so having UTC at a glance without having to do simple addition should be useful but in reality everything we do now is on a connected tablet so who am I kidding… It just looks like a Pan Am pilots watch from the golden age of jet travel without dropping multiple thousand on a delicate vintage Rolex.
I've been wanting get my hands on a Hyperion for almost two years. I've put my name on their list multiple times and I've never received a notification of a resupply. Love the design and movement.
First things first... Dig the biker moustache! Lorier makes excellent watches and the look of this is very classy! This color scheme is on point! You are right about that crystal. I think I might scuff that up as well! Looks cool but would have preferred sapphire. Its a cool idea to print the 24 hour track on the dial! Lume is not bad either! I agree this one is a great one! I just checked out some of their watches and the prices are far more reasonable that I had thought they would be. The Neptune for example I thought was a $2000 watch. Lorier has two watches that I really like the look of... The Neptune and the Astra would work beautifully as a two watch collection. Hope you have a fantastic weekend Tim!! 💪💪
My wife is always wondering what 'stache' I have from month to month. Having the 24 hr track on the dial and the timing bezel preserved...it was a done deal. As you've stated, Lorier makes some great watches and the Astra is another interesting model. I still have a hankering for the Hyperion. We will see. Take care Johan.
Very nice watch , good review. This should be my next Lorier. I have the Hyperion with the soprod movement. That watch is not this watch. Think Rolex Gmt master 1950's. The Hydra Zulu is 80's action hero. Both great. Lorier is a smart company over lapping models is not smart. Both watches are highly recommended.

I've got it. Definitely worth the money. But I'd rate it between a 7 and 8. This is a 41mm case that wears like a 37mm. The dial diameter is simply too narrow for all that's going on under the crystal. Broaden the dial a few millimeters without adding to the overall case width and we have a winner. Get rid of the high dome and the distortions that come with it. Sure, they look vintagey, but they play havoc with the legibility of the GMT track. It has a cool strap but the strap looks a lot better on my BB58. I put a NATO of the original Bond variety and it gave the Hydra more presence on my 7.5-inch wrist. Now the original rubber strap will never be attached to the Hydra again. And, though the lume is really great, it was a mistake to only lume the arrowhead as opposed to the entire hour hand. In the dark, that hour hand tends to get lost with everything else that's going on on the dial. Despite these criticisms, the watch is a keeper. I'd buy it again. And if they make some improvements, I'll buy that version and pass this one on.

I don't they would be able to broaden the dial without either ridding it of a bezel or the 24 hr track or enlarging the case. I know the Hyperion v2 changed the handset to what is now on the Hyperion (and Neptune and Hydra). I see what you're saying. Even with the adjustment issue, it's an incredible watch.
I have a 7” wrist and it wears perfect. It’s a vintage watch vibe and as such it doesn’t need to be larger. Otherwise, it would loose it character.
