Never seen the parameter layout in the 96-97 PCMs. Every one I’ve done is 94-95 with TunerPro RT and either C.A.T.S. Winflash (or now) Steve’s FlashHack. If there’s a low pulsewidth adder table, there’s your adjustment for the lean/ stall at idle (increase the lower range of the table a bit).
@@EllweinEngines Making sure not to steer you off course, are you using the stock injectors? Obviously you're feeding it more fuel, which the stock injectors can certainly deliver. Did you make a small bump in pressure and set the new injector 'apparent' size in the injector flow rate scalar? The offset vs. battery voltage will remain constant if the injectors are stock (time it takes them to start opening when commanded, expressed in usec or msec). Any other injector would need to be characterized properly and would be off with the factory calibration in flow rate, offset vs. battery voltage and low pulsewidth adder. tell me what you got and I can point you in the right direction on these parameters.
@@EllweinEngines Looks like you deleted the evap purge stuff. Might want to cap the evap to cannister line in the fuel line bundle. I also see the CCV hose is capped at the throttle body, which shouldn't necessarily be a problem. I kept my CCV hose and swapped the rocker cover end with a baffled breather instead of the stock plastic fitting in the grommet. No issues with oil being pulled into the TB/ Intake on my 94 (H/C/I/supporting mods car).
@@robertbryant7771 hello Robert, He has 30lb/hr injectors. Stock fuel pressure. I have them set at 30.14 lb/hr flow rate. Concerning the low pulse width adder that I had not changed until just now.... I added 20% in the lower area as suggested. There is an injector offset vs battery voltage table (untouched by me). There is an injector Base Pulse Width Vs. RPM table that I have not touched. I'm all ears. What would you adjust generally for 30lb/hr injectors? Have not loaded this new fuel injector setting tune in yet.
Hi Karl, I’m running Ford 9593-BB302, which aren’t available anymore new but can be had from reputable ‘clean/ calibrate/ flow match/ sell’ outlets. Like all Bosch for Ford injectors, their calibration sheets lend themselves well to use with LT1s with a little Excel work. I’ve found Holley and Accel sheets to be missing a couple of key attributes to describe them well enough to feel comfortable with them. Injector Dynamics and Fuel Injector Clinic have very good characterization data but most of their injectors are pretty large and intended for forced induction applications. What brand and model injectors are in the car in question?
That's what I want in the future, a 355 LT1. If I can get a good 375hp out of her that's fine. Stop light action and mainly highway and street cruising 4 times a year. 94 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 5.7L, 3.08 posi. Yes I want a cam to match my gearing.
Man tuning is a pain to get into. My 96 T/A was given all the LT4 goodies by a previous owner but never tuned, runs fine down low but falls on its face in the higher rpm (decelerates in 6th gear wide open throttle at 65mph, backfires at 3k nearly every shift). I'd take it to someone but it seems like in ancient art here in the midwest (mail in tunes likely won't work as I don't have an exact modification list). And buying a $400 tuner that I have no experience to use seems foolhardy. Any pointers to someone experienced in the Illinois/Indiana area would be extremely appreciated.
The only pointer I can give is you'll have to do it yourself and it takes quite a bit of seat time but every little bit of tuning and learning will add up and your skill will eventually be better than most tuners for this older platform.
So it's basically only 353 with a top-end work done on it and a forged crank they're the only ones to get from what I've read did you have to change the lifters pushrod lengths internals rods 5.7 or 6 inch
For a 355 small block Chevy you just bore the block to 4.030" and get the pistons to match. So you can do a stock crank and rods and new pistons or use steel forged crank and rods.
I Need your help. Have a 1994 Camaro Z28 with a pro charger. Need to learn timing and the transmission is slipping second to 3rd. a factory 4l60e . it was roughly 600 hp at the rear weal. on its last dyno pull
Wondering if you could give me some advice, I have a 97 Lt1 SS camaro slp 6speed manual, and when it warms up it starts running rich and feels like looses some power . Getting codes po100 and po103 ,po400 an po410. New optispark ,no misfired detected. Any help I would appreciate. Thank you
Karl, sir. Can you do a tune on the ECU if I mail it to you? My car is also a m6. I can't find anyone to tune. I can give you all my specs for cam, injector size, etc. Edit: Of course I'd pay

Thanks for the tip. There is a low pulsewidth adder I'm sure. I'll play with that.

Thanks for this video! This help me solidify buying HP Tuners
Nice video Karl! Love the sound of the ol lt1 thru a m6!
Same here! These M6 cars have me hooked! (for short trips in the country and on the road course).
Takes me back in time. I don't miss the JET DST days lol. Loving the Holley EFI life!
You you you!!! I wish everyone had the Holley.

My 95 z28 has the obd1 and I have abs light with brake light on. Cruise works and all, I'd give anything for obd2 lol
9:35...sounds damn healthy...
I did a 411 PCM for my 96 Z28 383 stroker.
is it worth it?
Did you do the Re-Pin?

I'm not so good at transmission tuning or knowledge of that. 600 hp rear wheel is a lot! Do you think it was missing some power due to slipping?

Coolant temp sensor. Or other temperature sensor.

Have you tried PCMForLess ? I think they do a good job mail order. I rather not do email tunes.
So you can use hp tuners to data log a 96 car?
Yes. It is limited channels but I like it for o2 and maf and adding the wide band if available.
Can u tune my car? 97 z28.
What CAI (intake) is that?
Moroso for Fbody
Where are you located
I'm in Southern Maryland about 1 hour south of DC
Can youbtune my 97 camaro?
