I warmer states you can use a water bypass for the throttle body. The hot water heats the air charge going into the engine. Every 10 deg f cooler that the intake air temp can net a max of 1% horsepower ideally. 260 HP could increase 2.6 hp gain at 10 deg f. If the water temp going in is 190 deg f and you can remove that heat to outside temps you could possibly gain a few hp. I did this on my 94 Trans am and it cost about $5.
I had a 95 about 20 years ago picked it up with a fresh built transmission for 2900.00 I painted it did headers, intake, ecu tune, 3.73 gears and 150 shot. I removed all the z28 emblems and put a single exhaust out the back and made it look like a v6 luckily the drag strip had loud cars and loud music. It wasn’t the fastest street car but was fun. I debated on doing heads cam and supercharger but it would need a stronger transmission and rear end so I sold it and went another wrote

i remember when i was 20 and tried to make one of these fast....... you'll pull the front cover 100 times messing with opti spark and water pump. intake, upgraded igniton, corvette wheels, ac delete, headers. anything else and these puppies would blow like nothing only good for around 300 hp max before bottom end bearings leave the chat. also no room whatsoever to work on it in the engine bay.when they gave us ls1 in 98 it was a godsend, only a cam would make you over 400 hp.
Wow that 94 LT1 only dynoed 231 hp at the wheels. Thats really low for a LT1 . Must have been running on 6 cylinders lol. My 1993 LT1 M6 Pontiac Formula Firehawk bone stock dynoed 281 rwhp. Should have put a can shaft in that old LT1 engine. That would have give you more power per dollar.
I had a 94 Camaro... I was so happy to get rid of it after the 3rd optispark distributor replacement in less than a year. Car was a death trap.
Rule is if you can make the same or more hp at the tires with boltons as factory advertised at the engine, you have a strong car!
This show was all about horsepower
Dyno Jet Stock Run: 231rwhp..
- Moroso CAI: +8hp..
- Headers, hiflo cats,
exhaust: +22hp..
- Injectors, tune: +2hp..
- More tuning: +1hp..
TB Mod: +5hp..
UDPs: +9hp.. = 278rwhp..
This y pipe Camaro needs electric exhaust cutouts, let that thang breathe..
I think the more solid the motor mounts are the more power go to the wheels
