Mike I am late to the party, but I really appreciate you. I own a 2012 Nissan Armada New. Maintenance is up to date. The only major problems I have had is a alternator, and a starter motor. Who knew the starter was under the intake? And, this is the first time after 11 years, I have had this problem. Again, thank you!!!
@@rickcarp5453 Will definitely be looking out for that. The repair was $800. Thermal Fuses sound a whole lot cheaper. Thanks for the information. I was also told recently by someone who sold Nissan's, that this version a 2012 was one of the more sound versions.
Thanks for the video. In your video you mentioned there are 2 blend actuators on the driver side. You discussed the vent actuator that does the hot / cold air mix. There is another blend door by the accelerator pedal. Can you explain what function for that blend door actuator?
Man I got all excited when you said you were going to show all of the actuators! You showed 3 on passenger side and came around to show us 2 on the drivers side but left us hanging and only showed one. I have replaced the one that mounts vertical before because it was making the infamous clicking sound. Now I have one that seems to be constantly searching in that it's always moving back and forth. I don't think it's the one I replaced previously though.
I think this guy shows the higher actuator on the driver's side: ua-cam.com/video/AmsBJkpgqKI/v-deo.html And this is a very well-done video about the clicking / (lower one, I think): ua-cam.com/video/HXj1dCDPLy0/v-deo.html
I had to give you a sub for putting this on video. My problem is no heat at all. I manually opened the valve in the engine bay to allow coolant to flow through the right side hose to the left hose (which leads to the heater core), but still no heat. I hate the cold.😒
Same here. The valve in the engine bay is not my problem. Interestingly when I have the heat adjustment knob turned all the way to hot and turn the blower motor on the A/C compressor kicks on. It cycles on and off like it is set to 'cold' via the adjustment knob.
Did you install the black gear cog on the actuator shaft?? If so did you mesh the black cog teeth with the white gear cog teeth attached to the blend door on the blend box?
Mike’s machines great video thank you for it just wish I could get my truck to u because I can’t find the right person in Alabama Birmingham area if u know somebody please advise
I see the video on you working on that q56 I have the same one so my issue is motor works blower motor works everything works on it but I still don't get no air through that front vents please help
I got a 2008 Infiniti qx56 and my air conditioner broke after really cold weather and keep the air working all the time and I can’t turn it off or level down the speed but the heat and the air cold are working fine, do I need to take it to the dealership or can I just check it myself since I’m really good working on stuff like this
is there a way to manually close the heater/ac blend door on passenger side? blowing out friggn hot air on passenger side, and its already 80/90 outside, thanks…
Hey. Are all the blend doors the same size ? And how many do you need to go behind the dash board? I heard 8 just wanted to change all at one time ..thank you
Just ran into the problem with no heat on the driver side and heat on the passenger side. I changed the blend door actuator on the driver side and still no heat. Is there anything else im missing
Do you have a video on how you took all that apart? I have a 2010 Armada that has clicking on the driver's side. I've been quoted over $700 to do it. I think I can do it myself but can't find a video that shows entire project. Thanks.
bryandmo I just replaced the motor on the drivers side, it requires moving the light and Bose system modules but it’s not too bad. Took me about 2 hours total.
On a 2010 the ac/heat drivers side heat blend door is on the top of the box against the firewall and is a real pita to change no matter how you go about it. This one he is working on is at least a 2011 model a lot easier to do.
Is there any hack to just forcing the air go out dash/face vents only? Mine is only blowing out floor and defrost vents. I don't think i have ability to remove everything you did to replace it. But if there's a way to rig it to only go out dash vents I'd appreciate any feedback or tips. Thank you.
thank you for you videos just a cuestion i have an altima 09 recharge the ac but just work on passager side. driver side blow warm air, the heater work fine both sides can this issue be the mixer air door?
Nice video man..2008 armada..my heat is stuck on defrost on highest level and also saying 0 degreesboth sides blowing cold air....ive detached main screen and controls, only way i can get it to stop is by pulling the fuse,i swapped blower resister with no luck...pls can you help
Hello Mike, Great video by the way. I followed your video and fixed my clicking problem but loss some screws in the process. Do you know where I can get those 3mm and 5mm screws? Looked on line but didn't find anything. TIA
I have a 2015 q50 I changed the driver side but now my passenger side blows hot air would it be located behind the glove box as well for my car? Thanks
What symptoms did you have . I have a 2010 Titan that blow hot on passenger side at times while a/c is on. Trying to figure if it's the bottom or top one on the passenger side.
howard parker observe the actuators as you change the temperature. You will see them move if they work correctly. If not they won’t move or if the cogs are damaged they will click
Hello Mike, I have a 2008 Infiniti QX56 that has so kind of either creaking door/groan sound coming from behind the AC dash area. It's not the woodpecker clicking noise - I already had that fixed. Apparantly the mechanic was able to reach his hand behind the dash/console area to replace one of the blend door actuators. The creaking noise is not constant but 75% intermittant even if I haven't turned on the heat/ac. Would this be caused from one of the actuators or could it be a blower motor? When I watch the blower motor videos, I haven't seen any that replicate the sound I hear which is why I'm leaning towards one of the actuators and a door not working properly. I'm not sure if this will help but it seems like the air flow intensity has not been the same ever since the clicking noise actuator was fixed. Any help would be appreciated.
Casandra Pedrak Hi Casandra, my guess is that one of your blend doors is hanging up and “groaning” when the actuator tries to move it. The actual actuator should either work or not work. They don’t seem to have much noise associated with them.
@@mikesmachines9394 Thank you. Basically I'm thinking I will need to just replace the whole actuator once I find it since it doesn't seem possible to just fix a door. I know you showed 4 actuators - do you know if there is a fifth one somewhere? For some reason I thought I read that in my research but as you know your video is the only one that attempts to show the locations.
Casandra Pedrak there is a 5 th one on top of the box assembly in the center of the dash against the firewall is a nightmare to change. There are more for the rear assembly as well but you will hear them making noise behind you.
You are a clown. The actuators fail and need to replaced from time to time. The plastic cogs fail or break (clicking noise) and need to replace. No computer reset will fix that. Go play on someone else’s channel keyboard warrior.
Great video, just ran into the same issue. Thank God you made this.
Glad it helped

The air is barely blowing thru the vents, which one should I get replaced ?
So if I order the air mix actuator does it come with the little cog to hook in or what is the part name that I need to order for it

Don’t know. Never worked on one. Possibly the same
What year model is this??
Its a 2013. Should be the same from 2011 through. Don’t know if this carries through to 2014+ QX80
Mine is a 13. When I look up the actuator parts there not listed for mine. Keeps saying not compatible with my year.
How do you clock the gear right?
Wat year of vehicles does this apply to?
That’s a good question. The answer is I don’t know.

Unfortunately no. I did not film the removal of glove box or kick plate on driver’s side. They are pretty straightforward tho.
