I'm curreently having my MX's front drive motor replaced (under warranty, thank God). This video was very helpful. The SC has scheduled a week to complete the job. It looks like a front end alignment will also be needed to complete the job.

How much did the complete replacement off the drive motor cost?!- this is a detail most of your viewers and myself are interested in. Excellent video! I'm super curious as to what kind of impact would damage the drive motor, but not any of the bodywork or undercarriage.
I was wondering if you were gonna tighten the axel nut. But you saved it for last 👌🏼
Yes it’s one of the last steps. The torque specifications are very high so it must be torqued on the ground after the wheels have been installed 👍🏻
What’s the repair time once parts were received? Did you acquire this expertise by trial and error or were you formally trained by Tesla?

AMazing video!!! did you apply grease onto the front shaft? And how much was the motor? and why do you mark it with a paint pen?
With this replacement, did you have to have Tesla reprogram the new drive unit to the vehicle?
Are there diagnostics to check fromt motor damage?

Could a car wash damage a front drive unit? Mine failed and coincidentally as I was leaving the car wash.
No the car wash wouldn't damage the front drive unit it would have been a coincidence.
